Ordered pick from Gyro First on a Monday night and had a smooth pickup experience. Got the chicken shawarma sandwich and hummus and pita bread. The chicken shawarma sandwich was spot on. Just what I needed. Was dissappinted with the hummus and pita bread order though, because there was not a great ratio of pita to hummus. We had a ton of hummus, which was good, but not enough pita. Would order again if I'm in the neighborhood, but probably stick with the sandwich, maybe try falafel as a side instead of hummus. read more

Stopped in for some Falafel eats and got my go to Falafel sandwich - garbanzo beans (which isn't often in these sandwiches), cilantro and parsley with spices fried and wrapped with hummus dip onions, green pepper, tahini, tomato, cucumber, and pickles. Just as the description says, this thing is loaded and not bad at $9. There aren't a whole lot of places to eat near my friend's place unless we take the extra few minutes and go to Cap Hill which isn't too much further, but sometimes you good food and under a 10-minute walk. Gyro First is small and not really assuming. Definitely more of a take out spot which was the case for my visit, but there are actually a couple tables inside, but parking isn't great in the area, so if you find yourself here, you'll likely be on foot. read more

Really loved this place! We went here a couple weeks ago and got a big portion mix of chicken / lamb plates with fries, all of which were absolutely delicious. We ordered and got the food relatively quickly (I'd say within 5-10 minutes) which was nice. Staff were friendly as well. One of the better shawarmas I've had in Seattle. The falafel sandwich was really good! It was super fresh and didn't taste like anything had been sitting around or frozen. I also had the fries which were tasty too. They are a little more on the thick cut side which was a fun change. The service was really speedy and the guy that helped me was kind and helpful. He packaged it well for to go and I was able to eat it and keep it together easily with the wrapping. The store wasn't super busy when I came in but it was clean and had plenty of seating. It looks like someone busted their door so there's a board on the front but they are open if the sign is on! Definitely would go back for more. read more

I love gyros and Mediterranean food and when I went to Seattle for the weekend to watch the Niners/Seachicken game (we won the season opener!!) I searched for Mediterranean restaurants and came across Gyros First, which was also walking distance from my hotel on 4th street. I reviewed the menu ahead of time and decided on the falafels side dish. It was soooooooo good!!!! The dipping sauce was great as well. Eventhough I was already full, I decided to order the baba ghanoush with pita bread. I ate it before I got back to my hotel because it was sooooooo good!!! The pita bread was warm and fluffy and really really good. I promptly returned the next day for lunch and ordered the lamb/beef gyro wrap and it was amazing as well. The seasonings on the meat was really good and juicy and the tahini sauce was great. I returned later that day and ordered 2 pitas so I could finish up my baba ghanoush from the day before. I didn't think I had time after the game to go and buy some food to go on my flight home so I didn't chance it (I couldn't made it but next time!) The food was absolutely amazing and priced well. The gentleman at the register and also making the food was extremely nice. I also got a small discount since I paid in cash as opposed to credit card (the small additional charge is posted on the wall by the cashier). While I waited for my food, there were many people coming in to eat in the restaurant, take to go or ordered ahead of time. I plan on returning to Seattle because I love it here and I'm DEFINITELY returning to Gyros first to try out more of their items. I ordered from them off of EZcaters, but I just had to write a review here. I needed to get food for an office going away party. I got 10lb trays of their gyro meat, chicken meat, pitas, salad, falafel, rice, & baklava. I ordered a day in advance, which imo is short notice for such a big order. That was my bad on my part, but without a hitch it got delivered right on time today (the next day). Guys- everything, & I mean e v e r y t h i n g was amazing. The rice was so flavorful, so was the meat & chicken (WHICH WAS SO TENDER??), the pitas were WARM & I'm pretty sure were freshly made. The falafel was a hit too, & salad was plentiful with olives, cucumbers, onions, & tomatoes, topped with generous amounts of feta (& i know that feta isn't cheap). The baklava was gone in an instant (someone emailed me telling me that it was "deadly good"). Plenty of tzatziki sauce & even gave a ketchup bottle of garlic sauce? It was more than enough for an office of 50+ people, & we had leftovers that everyone was happy to take home. Oh, also, complementary plates, napkins, utensils, & serving utensils. Best part? Went here because it was closer and both gyro spots had good reviews. We couldn't have been happier. Beautiful and tasteful decor clearly picked with love and handwoven. The food! Omg the gyro meat was the moistest most flavorful I've had in years. The gyro salad is a real meal and a treat! Fresh ingredients ! Kind cook! Great price! The tzatziki was also delicious! We grabbed a Greek fry just to try and also very yummy-we would do any salad or gyro here from the impression these two items made. Only suggestion is a few more healthier drink options.
