Large portions in a lowkey, slightly hole in the wall ambience grab and go style establishment. I went here for dinner after work, placing an order online to ensure the food is ready when I arrived. I got the chicken fiery kreuzberg with the recommended house bread. I love the sauce and the way the bread is baked, though I needed to get acquainted with the hot peppers as it was quite spicy. There is a good amount of chicken and just the overall size of the order is enough for one satisfying meal. The chicken was a bit too dry, with the sauce helping a little bit read more

Big disappointment, instead of real Doner lamb/Beef now they sell gyros instead (just like every other restaurant in the area). And what makes it worst is that when i was ordering they didn't even change the name to gyros, so i ordered and i thought that im getting lamb/beef doner but i opened my plate and its gyros. read more

I've been here a few times and tried a few of their chicken sandwiches and I have finally found the sandwich I like! I like their house chicken sandwich due to the garlic sauce--I have found their fiery sauce a bit too sweet? And the more medium sauce too flavorless. The house chicken isn't spicy but I manage. But service is great. You order on iPads in the story, and they make the sandwich pretty much right away. I've never had to wait too long. There are also some outdoor seating areas that can be full during lunch hour, but there's plenty of places to eat outdoors around here. Definitely a local lunch spot for me! read more

it's very strange, but recently the stores seem to change their meat for beef and lamb. It doesn't taste like before. Before it tastes like real meat, but now it tastes like some form of sausage. The house bread is still as great as before. Did any one else feel the same way? read more

Stopped in for a quick lunch. I ordered on their iPad, and my order was ready shortly after. The place has a couple tables outside, not much places to sit inside. I got the house chicken with their house bread which was really good. I loved the sauce and chicken and there was a good amount of veggies to feel balanced. Overall, a really good lunch option. Bonus points that it's not overcrowded like some other lunch spots haha read more

Decent lunch spot in SLU. The fiery chicken is pretty good. Prices are decent. You order on an iPad and get a text when the food is ready so can't really talk much about service. It's mostly a take out place. read more

Really disappointing takeout from here tonight. It was not traditional Döner meat! (Meat sliced off the spit). The Döner kebab sandwich had hardly any meat at all (see photo). Salad was large and had a decent amount, but it was just grilled meat strips that were dry and tough. The descriptions on the menu sound good, but the execution was shameful. Will not be ordering from here again. read more

The Berliner Döner Kebab - Döner kebab. Where is the meat?! There were a few dry pieces hiding under the lettuce. This place should be ashamed. - Sandwiches Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Picked up Chicken Fiery Kreuzberg (spicy yogurt chili sauce, mild pepper rings, romaine, tomato, cucumber, red cabbage, house bread) The chicken tasted good. But all in all, I found it to be rather dry. I'm not sure if it was the sauce or the bread. Overall, quite good, but not worth returning to. Service was quick though read more

I've visited this place twice, we ordered the house chicken Döner and Berliner lamb and beef Döner as well as the lamb and beef Frye Kreuzberg und Berliner chicken Döner all with the recommended house bread. The Döner is very delicious. I have to say though, the house bread is amazing. It's always fresh, I believe they make it in house, and it's so filling. That's my next point, the food is very very filling and the meat is very generously portioned unlike some of the other reviews are saying. I was originally discouraged from trying this place due to the few reviews complaining about small amounts of meat, but I didn't experience that in the two times I've been. The staff is so very friendly and very helpful. The place itself doesn't have any seating inside, it's a grab and go establishment, so I'd suggest eating it at a nearby park or something. Overall, I'd very strongly recommend the Berliner Döner over the house Döner in either choice of meat. Personally I liked chicken. (Tip: order it with no tomatoes so it's less messy!) Small note as well, they close at 15:30, not 16:00. also, it doesn't seem like they run out of food near closing. read more

This is my go-to lunch spot in SLU for a quick and easy grab and go (albeit I do always order ahead prior to going). Their chicken berliner sandwich is my favorite and full of garlicky goodness. Beware that you will definitely smell of garlic after, so plan accordingly. Prices are fair at $10-11 per sandwich and pick up is easy. It's definitely a bit of a hole in the wall, but consistently good food and highly recommend checking out. read more

The food just didn't hit the spot. Perhaps, it is because I went towards the end of the day but it doesn't excuse it. I found it to be way too salty and not juicy or savory. I had the chicken. They have a handful of stools and a counter. I don't remember a bathroom. This is a takeout spot. read more

Small counter service restaurant. Not really any seating (they have a couple small tables outside but thats it) so it's really meant for take out. I ordered a beef and lamb sandwich and a beef and lamb plate. Food was ready super quickly (under 5 min at 12:45pm on a weekday). When I came in to pick up, the two people working the counter were very friendly. The food is good especially for the price in this part of town. I think the best part was the bread: it was substantial enough not to disintegrate, but still soft and not tough at all. The meat was fine; it could be a little more flavorful but it wasn't bad. The portion of meat could be a little bigger, so if you're super hungry order double, but for the price I think it was fair. read more

The doners are amazing and generally available quick except for rush hours. I have tried most of the food here but it lacks heat. The scorching ones are not spicy hot. However, they are good for lunch and flavourful. read more

This tastes accurate to what's sold in Germany -- I liked the house Turkish bread that reminded me of the Döner in Germany (crunchy exterior and soft interior). Meat was cut pretty finely and had lots of crispy bits, which I like (but some might not like). I would highly encourage double meat since the meat amount would probably be scant with a normal portion. I gave 3 stars due to the portion size and value (I was just satiated by the double meat portion). I'd say the grab and go competition of food trucks nearby provide slightly better lunch value for satiety. $13.25 (pretax) for double meat spicy kreuzberg, $10.25 (pretax) non doubled). Service workers here seem a bit sullen and the person working the register seemed a bit grumpy. As of Nov 2022, the Doordash promo is a scam by the way -- there's a $3 premium ordering by the app, which erases coupon savings! read more

I was working next door and couldn't resist the temptation to try this place as I spent a couple years in Germany and used to work at a Turkish joint for a bit. Holy hell, this place is superb. Fantastic $9.25 meal for a Berliner chicken sandwich. Highlight was the homemade bread which was crisp on the outside and not too dense on the inside. Reminded me of foccaccia bread. I cant speak to how authentic it tasted vs those available in Berlin. As a mediterranean food/donor lover however, I can say I will definitely be back! All ordering is done contactless, self service stations. Food us available quickly, even during the lunch rush hour. read more

Their signature beef and lamb kebab was delicious. Must repeat this place again. It's also great that it's right by our office.

I hate to give bad reviews, but this was really disappointing. The beef/lamb combo was the toughest gristliest doener meat I've ever encountered - about half was unchewable, and had to be... discarded. Maybe the chicken is better? The yogurt sauce tasted more like mayonnaise, but that, I suppose is pretty authentic to the German-style. Not great if you have a soy-allergy, though. The "recommended" bread is heavy, dense, and tough, almost like a ciabatta. I've never had doener in Berlin - only where I lived in southern Germany, where doener were served on light fluffy pita bread - so maybe the tough bread is popular in Berlin? I hope not! They actually do offer pita as an option, but since this was my first visit, I went with the recommendation. I don't think I'll go back, but if you brave the place, be warned! Also note that they don't have any seating - it appears to be strictly carry out. The one up-side is that the staff were very friendly and the service was extremely fast. read more

I rated the stars for poor business prep as we decided to go to this place for our 3rd trip- the food was delicious the 1st two times! And service was quick. Last night we arrive to a sign posted "sold out" "only tofu" available. How do you "sell" out of meat when you are a kebab restaurant at 5:30 on a Thursday ??! I don't know if we will tempt it again to try but very sad that this place has no business sense. read more

It's been 6 years and I'm still loving this place. They've since streamlined the menu, offering either spicy, garlic, or parsley/dill sauce options. I bounce between the garlic and parsley/dill depending on my mood, but ALWAYS get a side of hot sauce - it's so great. I've firmly decided the wheat wrap is the way to go, but the salads here are also great. Full of fresh veg and meat. 5 stars for six years of good eats and being one of the last places in SLU you can get a good lunch at for less than $10. read more

In preparing for my trip to Germany, I have been trying out numerous German eateries to get acclimated with the cuisine served there. Fortunately since I work in South Lake Union, I have been able to try a couple which are located in this very neighborhood. One of those eateries is The Berliner Döner Kebab which specializes in döner kebab which is basically rotisserie meats rotated vertically instead of horizontally like it often is for rotisserie chicken and barbecue. Meats are then served typically as a sandwich. While döner is Turkish, it is a popular fast food item in Germany. There are 4 varieties of sandwiches here served with your choice of chicken, lamb & beef or tofu & feta. You can also choose between different bread options. Aside from sandwiches, they also offer salads. While the sandwich prices here are higher than a sandwich at the nearby Jimmy John's, the size of the sandwiches here are considerably larger. If you are in the area from 3-6 on weekdays, they have a happy hour special in which you can get a döner for only $4.99. I have tried two of the sandwiches thus far, the Lamb & Beef Fiery Kreuzberg ($8.65) and the Chicken Berliner ($7.50). The Fiery Kreuzberg is supposed to be a sandwich with heat, but I didn't find it too terribly hot fortunately. The peppers inside the sandwich are just a little spicy. Taste of the lamb and beef was decent, but I liked the Chicken Berliner more. The Berliner has pieces of rotisserie chicken in it with a mix of cucumber, lettuce, red cabbage and tomato with the X factor being the garlic sauce. Take note that the sauce is super garlicky, so be sure to have some gum or mints on hand when you finish your meal. It was great to try döner before heading to Germany for my trip. Looking forward to comparison testing to see if the döners in Munich taste the same as the ones found here. read more

Small sandwich shop in the SLU area serving doner kebab sandwiches. Has some seating in front of the window and two small tables, but otherwise this is a take-out place. Got the lamb and beef doner kebab sandwich. The sandwich was surprisingly big. Two pieces of flatbread with meat and veggies in the middle with a mayo-based sauce. Tasted pretty decent, and given the price it's probably one of the cheaper lunch options in the SLU area. read more

Pausing in the middle of eating my takeout to RAVE about this place. I've been wanting to try this place for a year, was finally in the area and stopped in - and lord have mercy... thank god I did. I ordered the lamb & beef Berliner and the bread is the perfect balance of fluffy and crunchy. The meat is well seasoned and spiced. Reminds me of the Döner I've had in Germany & Amsterdam. Not to mention, service is EXTREMELY FAST. If you're in a rush, want something delicious, and are in the SLU area - this place is a MUST. read more

Overall was pretty solid, the beef and lamb are tender and well seasoned. The rice was good but maybe a little too salty. The Berliner Döner Kebab - Lamb and Beef Platter - Sandwiches Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Being German, this is one of the foods I get excited about seeing. With menu items named after cities in Berlin, it seemed authentic. Some of the flavors in the beef and lamb actually were, the rest not so much. The sauces way too heavy in mayo, the bread stale, the meats also pre-sliced which dries them out. Prices were fair, as are portions, was just hoping the food would taste better. Some sides such as fries would be great as well. Not bad, but also not worth returning for. read more

Soooo good!! Seriously the best. Some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Staff was also very friendly.

As a German, I love a good Döner. I was thrilled to discover this place but did not expect much. I am a vegetarian and opted for the Tofu & Feta Berliner with House bread. The most important qualities of a good Döner for me are the bread and the sauce and let me tell you- this place nails both! The bread is super fresh and the sauce delicious. I was skeptical about the tofu and feta filling but absolutely loved it! This place exceeded my expectations by far. Their Döner is better than at many places even in Germany. Very good food and one of my favorite lunch spots in the neighborhood! Their garlic sauce is delicious and the house bread is nice and crunchy. The meat isn't quite the classic shaved style that you'd see at most döner places but still very good.
