A cool lowkey bar in Cap Hill that specializes in Belgian beers. The bar is a little divey but has a cool and chill ambiance with fun decor (lamps on the booth tables) and board games.

We had a lil game night shindig here and Apples to Apples just totally stole the show. Flippin' awesome and bundles of fun and laughing. Pizza delivered, courtesy of Chris W and I got a Fiji water from the market nearby to wash it down. And no, I did NOT have a stash of Mel Gibson's up my sleeve! =P I finished with the green cards "cheesy" and "nasty".

Bar with a great selection of beers. The tap is limited to around 10 taps it seems, but the variety there is great if you're interested in Belgian beers. The bar sits on the corner block, with a large window facing the street. From the outside it doesn't look like much of a homely bar, but it was quite nice inside. There is a selection of board games available to play while enjoying your beer, and the prices were very reasonable. I would definitely return to this bar, since I love Belgian beers.

No murals-unless you count the impressive sketched coaster montage on the wall, three-four times larger in size, no shushing, and no Pommes Frites...nonetheless, Stumbling Monk I knight thee my west coast Burp Castle (aka. place of reverence). A serious Belgian beer selection at decent prices, dark, and open late. If I lived closer I would take communion here often.

shot of beer for 7 dollars..

No draft beer samples? At a bar that only has beer? Ok.. Beer pours are hideously overpriced. Would recommend tap house down the street for a better experience. Staff is like a typical dive craft beer bar experience. Out of some of the more basic beers like ipa.

Seattle classic. Great beers, no frills. Good place to write a few pages or play a board game.

As a cider fan, I was especially happy to see a solid variety of options. Although I had a frustrating experience with the kitchen, but I'd still come back. It was an especially hectic day with multiple events and a soccer game, so it seemed like everyone arrived at once. I ended up waiting about an hour for my food, which was disappointing. That said, the staff handled the situation really well, there was consistent communication, and they took the time to engage with us, which I appreciated. Still, the kitchen delays and order issues shouldn't be overlooked. On the bright side, the drinks were excellent and reasonably priced. They also have a great selection of games, which I'm looking forward to trying next time. The location is another plus, just a few minutes' walk from the T-Link, making it very convenient.

Still decent, just not something I'd rave about. The mini golf is definitely the highlight. It's really cute how the course spells out "SEATTLE," and I loved the little Space Needle to end the last of the mini golf holes. That said, there are only 9 holes and they're pretty small, so it goes by quickly. Drinks are all on tap and feature local/Washington breweries, which I really appreciated. I love supporting local! We came during their February deal and it was such a great value -- $45 for a pizza, two pint glasses to take home, two drinks, and unlimited games. Honestly, that made the experience feel totally worth it. Duffleboard was fun, though it looked a little outdated. They also had cornhole and a ping pong table, which made it feel like like there variety of things to do. Loved the vibes/ambiance (fun art and murals) and music. Overall, a fun spot for a casual hangout -- especially if you catch one of their deals!

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!
