    10. SALAMI, HAM & PEPPERONI
    Christopher L.

Was craving a sandwich and stopped by here, which was well worth it. This is a cozy sandwich shop with friendly staff and fast service. I got the salami, pepperoni, and ham sandwich with aioli sauce. The sandwich was very filling with crunchy bread, fresh cold cuts, greens that were not over shinning, and aioli that gave the perfect bite each time. It was the first time I had been in here and will not be the last. Definitely will have to try the famous banh mi next time.

Pane Pane is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Seattle which makes it the perfect grab-and-go lunch spot. I tried the prosciutto, mozzarella, and pesto sandwich and thought it was decent, but nothing spectacular. The bread was pretty dry, most likely because they only put pesto on the sides of the bread. It was also pretty pricey (close to $20 after tax and tips) but the portion was fairly big.

Sweet local spot for fast affordable sandwiches. A nice break from fancier options near the downtown hotels. We had a BBQ chicken bahn mi and a turkey sandwich: both were well-filled on soft, crunchy rolls. There are just a few stools for seating inside and the walls feature promo posters for local events, so you can plan your weekend while you eat!

Great sandwich shop! I got the turkey/avocado. My sister in law got the turkey/avocado/bacon. They were tasty for sure. They have a chipotle mayo sauce that really made them great! Wonderful service. Outside the establishment was a lot of sketchy folks doing drugs so that was the only downside. Not sure I would take my kids to eat here with the people outside slumped over doing the fentanyl bend or the guy pacing back and forth with crack pipe hanging out his mouth. We basically got our food and kept trekking back to our hotel. I feel bad for the businesses having to deal with this as I'm sure it deflects customers. Bathroom was closed. I assume to keep the homeless and drug users out! Unfortunate for paying customers since it's hard to find clean bathrooms outside your hotel.

This sandwich spot will seriously knock your socks off, and without breaking the bank! I opted for the Turkey avocado bacon Swiss and enjoyed every bite. I love the banh mi style baguette bread too. The staff was beyond kind. This is a total hidden gem, right between 3rd and 4th on Union. I can't wait to try the rest of their menu!

I took my friend here to eat with me during the end hours of the Georgetown Carnival around 8:30pm…read moreafter hearing my friends tried here earlier in the day and vehemently recommending it to me. For it being less than half an hour before closing, it was packed inside, with two sections of seating for various group sizes, and a casually loud interior with a counter full of water jugs and glass cups in front of a nice plant backdrop with the name of this place in lights. Menu serves a ton of Asian fusion dishes along with some regular entrees and a ton of cocktails and wine. From my sis's recommendation when she went, I got myself the banh mi smash burger after deciding between that and the Pho-rench dip my brother-in-law had. My friend got himself the La Vong fish sandwich, which I didn't get to try though we both did split an order of honey sriracha Brussel sprouts. - For the banh mi smash burger, think of ALL the essential ingredients of a standard banh mi sandwich; then put in a regular beef patty, throw in lemongrass beef as the other meat and add provolone cheese as a complement to the pate-mayo spread. That's what this is in a nutshell, and it tastes exactly like a banh mi sandwich as a result, only in burger form. This was an absolute hit and win for me; beef patty was juicy, condiments were fresh, lemongrass beef was equally as juicy, and the side of fries made this a very filling dish! - I normally don't like Brussel sprouts because of their similar taste profile to asparagus, but I ate a ton of the honey sriracha Brussel sprouts from here. It's sweet and tangy, both of which mask the oddly earthy and bitter tones of regular Brussel sprouts. They're also roasted which further gets rid of that bitter taste I don't enjoy. We rushed a little eating since they were close to closing but we loved everything we got here! I should start keeping a list of places like this one for places I need to make a second and even third visit to for their other dishes.

Interestingly, when I ordered noodles and asked for chopsticks, they told me they didn't have any. It was quite a surprise to find an Asian restaurant serving noodles without chopsticks. As for the food, it was fine, but nothing memorable for the price. I've had better Asian food elsewhere in Seattle for less. If you're after a stylish, brunch-aesthetic spot to try Asian-inspired dishes, Di Fiora fits the bill. But if you're going purely for the flavors, you may leave underwhelmed.

These weren't your typical fries though. They were Dutch-style, coming topped with mayo, satay, onions, and chili sauce. A mix of Dutch and Indonesian flavors. This probably was my favorite dish. The combination of pungency, fattiness, crispiness, and spiciness was very good. It kind of reminds you of a plate of nachos, but the fries themselves have a better taste than a bed of chips would have. They manage to stay crispy almost until the end. The main dish I had was the South African Bunny Chow. This was a chicken masala curry inside a bread bowl, spilling out on either side. This was very solid as well. The curry tasted similar to a butter chicken - lightly spiced and creamy, but the chicken inside was quite juicy. The act of putting this inside a bread bowl was very cool. It made it easy to get both the bread and the curry in a single bite with a spoon I didn't like the dessert much, though. What I had was the chocolate malva, but the apricot was way too forward and the sweetness was missing. I tried the Danish cake as well but found this similarly disappointing. The price ended up being somewhat expensive, at around $45 per person after the meal, despite the deal. Portions were solid though. Overall, it's a cool avenue to try different street foods, but I wouldn't say anything special. 7.25/10
