    Chicken sandwich

Excitedly tried this restaurant, located right across from the Amazon Spheres inside Rachel's ginger beer! The space is really nice, windows were all open because it was a nice day. You order on QR codes, and food came out really quickly! When we went, around 1:40 on a Thursday, they were out of the chicken tenders so we got sandwiches. I ordered it with medium spicy (the highest spice option that didn't cost extra money). We did have to ask the Rachel's employees for some water which they happily gave in glasses. The sandwich was really good! Nice mild spice, and overall really filling. The fries were also really good, crunchy and nicely seasoned, and they had ketchup on the side to help yourself. Overall decent sandwich and good chicken so I will be back!

Wow this is some of the best fried chicken I've had. I got the medium spicy chicken fingers and they are sooo well seasoned and definitely pack a kick! The picked daikon was a great addition, and the honey mustard is the perfect complement. For about $11 the portion is also really generous. I could only eat 2 and took the last one home. Would definitely be coming back! The store is located in Rachel's Ginger Beer (they don't have a big sign outside). You order at the counter and seat yourself.

We ordered takeout. Service was quick after placing the online order. The chicken sandwich was massive! It was seasoned so nicely and the radish was such a nice touch! The Kimchi Mac & Cheese was so good I started eating it in the car lol. It's creamy and very flavorful! I definitely would eat this again

SO GOOD. By no means is this a fancy dinner but it's so well executed. Interior is nice and cozy with ample seating. Service is at the counter and food came out fast. Came here for the hot chicken and ended up getting the tenders - the chicken is not dry and not overcoated in batter (yet it's so crispy). The medium spice was perfect - not too hot but you can still feel a slight burn. I'm kinda glad my friend talked me down from ordering the hot level since you could taste more of how good the chicken is, but I'm still curious and would go back to try. It comes with 1 sauce and I got the honey mustard whereas my friend got hawaiian bbq. I liked the honey mustard and would stick with it. The ginger beer slaaaaps. Spicy pineapple was the way to go (although it might not be for everyone because there's definitely a kick. If you like turmeric ginger shots, you'd probably like this. You can also get half flavors to mix. 5/5 easy rating for this place!

I came because of the high ratings, but honestly not seeing what is equating to these 4-5 star ratings? Don't get me wrong, it's good but it doesn't taste like anything too special. The chicken lacks seasoning on it's own, and seems to rely on the sauce (you can choose from a 5 options) and the pickled radishes. Because the chicken is pretty thick, whether you order the strips or the sandwich, I would think that there would higher consideration of seasoning/marinating but I feel that it's lacking. The fries were also just ok. Seems to be the same or similar seasoning as the chicken so the meal felt pretty one-dimensional. Despite the food being average, I love that it's connected to Rachel's Ginger Beer. I think it's a great pairing to have with Ma'ono's chicken dishes. There is also ample seating, with indoor and outdoor patio selection.

Absolutely love this place for fried chicken. The skin is so crispy and the meat is juicy, easily slides off the bones. The daikon pickles come with the order and adds a very nice touch. It is refreshing and cleans your flavor palette. I ordered the super spicy ones and it was not unbearably spicy. I would compare the spice level to that of Buldak noodles.

You're not paying for presentation, you're paying for FLAVOR. Medium spice with extra pickle here.

We made an excursion to Ma'ono Fried Chicken, seeking sustenance amidst the late hours of the day. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the cashier, who informed us that the selection was limited to chicken sandwiches. Undeterred, we pressed on, and were soon pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sandwiches received. These creations of fowl and bread were imbued with a medium spice, at our request, and even more enhanced by the additional pickles we had procured. In addition to the sustenance we were also offered a side of potatoes, fried to a golden crisp. While we did find the portion size rather modest, the flavor was well-balanced. Ma'ono Fried Chicken is housed within the walls of another establishment, selling the libations known as Rachel's Ginger Beer. We indulged in two such beverages, the White Peach and the Passion Fruit with Vanilla, both of which were found to be of exceptional quality. The staff at Ma'ono Fried Chicken was most accommodating; we found them to be a patient and helpful lot. We shall surely return to this establishment in the future, for their offerings of fowl and drink are not to be missed.

I learned through word of mouth that there's a fried chicken sandwich spot near my apartment. But I never saw it. Turns out, it's hidden inside a drink spot called Rachel's Ginger Beer. We only discovered it because nearby businesses pointed it out, and some of them didn't even know about it! Let me tell you, this place is great. Think thin, crispy, spicy crust on the chicken, soft and chewy bread, and perfectly crispy seasoned fries. It's the perfect combo. They've got beer and canned bubbly drinks, along with a variety of ginger cocktails. Overall, it's a great spot to have around, especially when the food trucks aren't around. It fills that fried chicken void in the city. Definitely worth checking out!

Excellent blend of flavors on the spicy chicken sandwich with the mayo and Dicon pickles! The potato Mac is solid, will definitely go back and try the other chicken options!

My friend misread the ferry sign, leading us to Seattle instead of Port Orchard. We decided to dine at a chicken place nearby. We all ordered chicken sandwiches and shared two orders of fries, which were plenty for the four of us. I opted for no daikon or veggies on mine, but the others enjoyed them. The menu is entirely à la carte. The chicken sandwiches were generously sized and juicy, though the breading on mine was oddly missing from the top. The fries were tasty but could use a bit more seasoning or salt. The ketchup tasted overly sour and vinegary, even though it was served in a Heinz container. Drinks were limited to ginger beer and water; I would have preferred a Coke. One of us tried the ginger beer and found it enjoyable. Despite the minor issues, I'd definitely return for the delicious chicken sandwiches.

    Fried Chicken Sandwich ($13.50)

Ma'ono is located inside Rachel's Ginger Beer and you order from a little window. Their menu is simple (only 3 entrees to choose from) but delicious. I decided on the Fried Chicken Sandwich ($13.50) which is a large crispy breaded chicken breast served with pickled daikon, kewpie mayo and lettuce atop a soft Hawaiian bread roll. I added fries to my order for an additional $3.50 as well. I'm so used to hot chicken sandwiches coming with a standard cabbage slaw so it was interesting to see how Ma'ono actually serves their fried chicken sandwich with yellow pickled daikons, iceberg lettuce shreds and a generous spread of kewpie mayo. The food took awhile to come out, a bit over 20 minutes, which was the biggest disappointment in my opinion, but it was definitely a tasty sandwich. I really enjoyed their fries too which is sprinkled with what they call their "ono seasoning". $17 for a chicken sandwich and fries seemed a bit steep in my opinion for fast casual food, but still a yummy option if you find yourself in the mood for a fried chicken sandwich with a slightly Hawaiian twist!

Felt pretty average for a chicken sandwich. You only order online here and then pick up your order on the counter. That process is simple enough, but you don't quite get to ask any questions or get an opinion if it's your first time. Chicken sandwich - the buns are softly toasted on the inside but the outside is definitely underwhelming. Can get a bit soggy, especially the bottom layer. The creamy mayo is pleasant, I opted for light mayo and felt like that was a wise choice in order to enjoy the other flavors including the chicken. Don't get the burger cut in half, I thought it'd be nice and sounded fancy but it ends up being more messy and troublesome. Each half of my burger had the chicken cut in half as well, not sure if intended, but I essentially had four quarter circle pieces that made up the burger and they loved to move around. Drumsticks weren't anything special. I enjoyed them but they weren't much different than other fried chicken places. Slightly different seasoning, sure, but the chicken and breading were very typical. Ginger was a nice addition, though. By no means a bad place, potentially an unlucky experience. Average experience with higher expectations. Experience may vary based on beverages--maybe stop by for some ginger beer while you're here anyway? That could've been my mistake, not choosing to merge the two.

It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

Tip: go for the seeded rye over the marbled rye; something about the marbled rye just falls apart a bit more with the juices of the meat, though it's still delicious! Black & White Cookies (4/5): I expected this to be cloyingly sweet, but this was actually scrumptious with some fresh lemon flavor in the cookie itself. Absolutely massive as well.
