Tried the spicy chicken and portobello sandwhich here as well as the new cauliflower bites. Really really liked the cauliflower bites which come with garlic aioli, the chicken sandwich was alright but didn't really find it very spicy and wanted more of a kick. It didn't really taste spicy to me and was just more flavor. The portobello was good as well, kinda wish there was more of a crunch. Overall the service was really good and really fast, you order through tablets and the food comes fast after. We ordered the chicken katsu bowl and a side of fries. - the ordering system and the menu don't give a list of ingredients, so I was surprised to receive rice drenched in some kind of white sauce. - the fries were over salted - the siracha mayo was over sauced on a very small piece chicken - the ordering system doesn't let you tailor or customize ingredients. One of the sodas was all carbonate Water. I believe it's the Lemon lime by Jones that had no syrup so was not that good of an experienced. I wouldn't come here I'd just go to Dave's a block away. Hi Mt Joy team, I dined at the cap hill location last night with my friend at about 9pm. I go there often and love it but last night was not great. All of the chairs were up on the tables making it look closed. We ordered and then proceeded to take our chairs down to sit. We were the only ones there at that point. When our order was ready it was in a to go bag stapled shut when we clearly wanted to eat there. We asked for ketchup since there wasn't any in the bag. The staff member just threw the bowl on the counter from underneath for us to grab them. At about 9:30 he turned on the music - death metal BLARING and started emptying the recycle and garbage. It seemed like he got frustrated and threw the bag on the floor and then finished. We felt like he wanted to send the message that it was time to go since they closed at 10 pm. The energy was not customer service oriented and was as if there were no customers there. We felt like we had to hurry and leave which is not a good feeling. I wanted to pass this along so you are aware. I hope this isn't a regular behavior as I love the food. If the staff member was upset- he should be more professional. Was looking forward to trying Mt. Joy, but immediately when we arrived the female cook sighed loudly and said "are you kidding me!? This is non-stop." Mind you, I was the only customer in the restaurant. They did seem to have online orders, but that is ridiculous to say when customers are arriving. She said this about the next few people who had come in, and one lady asked "is anything wrong?" And the guy at the front said "we're just really busy." Did not feel welcomed at all. On to the food, while the quality was good, it was not good enough to justify the high price points. The food is also extremely salty. I do wish the chicken had more flavor, and I'd skip the relish they put on the sandwich next time. The inside of the restaurant is nice and you can request music to play. This is a fairly fast causal chicken restaurant in Capitol Hill. I like the fact that they close relatively late, so once you go out to bars and want late night food, this can be a option. I went here to try the white meat classic chicken sandwich and chicken littles with chipotle lime and herb ranch sauce add-ons ($1 surcharge). The chicken overall is really good - fairly juicy and the breading is seasoned well with a lot of herbs. I love the sauce they used in the chicken sandwich, and it is a better version of fast food chains like Chick-Fil-A. The chicken in the sandwich in particular is much juicier than the chicken in the chicken littles (which are chicken tenders). There is a slight spicy kick to the chicken in the chicken littles. This fried chicken spot recently opened in Cap Hill and I tried two of their spicy chicken sandwiches (one white meat, one dark meat) and fries for around $24 (I did get the fries for free from a promo code). Surprisingly, I preferred the white meat sandwich over the dark meat as it was less dry. The white meat sandwich also cost $2 less. The chicken wasn't really spicy but the sauce is pretty good. Fries were pretty good too: relatively thick and crispy. To be honest though, I'm not too sure if this would be a spot I would be hitting often though with so many nearby fried chicken options (Bok a bok, katsu burger, Dave's hot chicken, pelicana) and it doesn't really stand out compared to the options I listed, but overall decent fried chicken sandwich and fries for not too bad of a price. read more

After you put your order in a chicken squawks and your name is called to pick up your order. A little on the beak (haha), but whatever. Heard about this spot from a friend in Kirkland, so I decided to venture onto Cap Hill and try it out. Got lucky with a parking spot right in front. Food was ready to pick up in under 10 minutes. The tangy wings were piping hot and just the right amount of vinegar and spices to tickle your tastebuds. We got the white meat and dark meat burgers and the Portabella. All were fresh and delicious with just the right amount of crunchy batter on the chicken and fresh arugula on the mushroom burger. Favorite dipping sauces were the honey mustard and the smoky paprika. The Strawberry Basil milkshake was a huge hit and the chocolate chip cookies were luscious and melty and slightly salty and even a little herb-y. Definitely going back again and again. Mt. Joy has been on my list of places to try for a while now. I'm not a chicken sandwich fan so I got hot chicken wings and fries. The fries were good! Nothing fancy, just plain old fries but perfectly cooked and seasoned. Fun sauces to go with. The wings were just okay, maybe a 6/10. The skin was soft rather than crispy (but maybe the to-go container is to blame for that?). Service was fine! You order from a tablet. I do appreciate their locally sourced/sustainable/organic approach to fast food and I admit their "crispy" chicken (sandwich and tenders) seem to be kind of their "thing" so I'll try one of those and a shake next time! Good spot! Lots of places to get chicken in Capitol Hill, so I gave this new spot a shot and felt they delivered well on it. And I didn't have to wait in a line wrapping around the block! You order at a kiosk, although when I approached the counter to read the menu, an employee was there to greet me and make sure I knew how to order and such. The decor and dine-in area is a little cozy but stylish! I ordered my food to go though. Spicy dark meat sandwhich. The spice was mild but noticeable. I also tried a bite of my kiddo's chicken tender and thought it was pretty darn good. The breading is good and thick without being excessive. And the seasoning is really good. Fries were fine, but I particularly appreciated the assortment of dipping sauce options. I've heard the milkshakes are excellent but I'll save those for another day.
