Breakfast the Chicken and the Egg
    Maxine L.

Airy little brunch spot. Street parking was definitely doable for us. We came for brunch and were seated right away. I'm a sucker for small portions, so i ordered the onesie with the cheeky French toast (banana filling). The French toast was interesting; deep fried, so super crispy throughout. The cooked banana flavor isn't super strong, and is all kinda mush with the inside soft bread. Interesting concept, but I prefer the traditional French toast lol. Bacon and egg were pretty standard. My partner had the chicken and the egg sandwich. It was pretty good! The scrambled egg was super thin, so not sure if it was super standout. Service was really quick and nice. Overall, pretty standard spot, nothing that stands out.

We came here for breakfast and I wanted to try the fry bread. It was a little different from the fry breads I've tried in past and resembled more of a zeppole. I made a breakfast sandwich out of the meal I ordered .

Came here on a Saturday morning and were seated right away! If you get takeaway, you order at the counter and if you eat there, you're seated and someone comes to take your order. We got the cheeky french toast with berries and the loco moco. The loco moco has been one of the best I've had in Seattle so far! I loved that there was a lot of gravy and the meat was so flavorful. The french toast was good, a bit too sweet for me. I'd come here again for the loco moco!

Cheeky Cafe is a well known neighborhood cafe! We had heard lots about this cafe and wanted to give it a try! First off when you walk it, the atheistic and environment is very cute and simple. There is about 15 tables and immediately you feel like you are at home. As you walked to the counter to order the menu is projected on the board no QR code which I love. There is all day breakfast and lunch. My friends were raving about the spam and eggs so we ordered two. It was delicious. I ordered the BELT (bacon, egg, lettuce and tomato). I opted out of the bacon and replaced it chicken sausage. It was amazing. The sandwich was placed in two thick slices of toast and comes with a garlic aioli on the bread. The sauce was so good I order an extra side of it. We also ordered a Chai latte, orange juice and some tea! Cheeky Cafe is definitely going to be in our new breakfast spot rotation! I can't wait to try more on the menu! Come to Cheeky's if you want that home style local neighborhood spot!

Cheeky Cafe has been around for a while, one of the good spot for Brunch. I normally would get the Fresh Toast but this time I wanted to try the Omelet and it was entirely different than what I'm use to. Definitely use to more veggie being mixed in but this one the veggie are stuffed in. I don't mind onion and mushroom but felt like there was too much !? Maybe but thats My opinion but I enjoyed the company, environment and the workers.

3.5 Good value for the fun options! American//Asian fusion breakfast food. The serving staff was sweet! Albeit a bit slow, they sat us but then didn't bring waters or check in for 15 minutes and it was a hot day and we walked so that was a bit discouraging at first, but then the food came quickly once we got our order in! It was also brunch, there wasn't a wait but it was maybe busier than usual (I have no reference). I got the side salad with Caesar and it was weirdly good for how simple it was! The spicy mac was a great serving size, but could definitely use more kimchi and the sauce itself wasn't super thick so the kimchi juice made it a bit watery at the bottom. My friend loved her spam and eggs! In sum: can't really complain because for Seattle these were great prices!!! Super cute spot inside with high ceilings, felt like a queer-friendly space where some tables were clearly there to hang out and I love that.

Came here on a whim after arriving in Seattle and so glad we did! Great service, cozy ambiance and I had an amazing veggie omelet packed with mushrooms, onions, spinach, tomatoes, and cheddar. Super tasty! My son had the French toast and was happy.

Didn't look like much but the loco moco meatloaf was so good! The gravy was incredible! I love the small mom and pop vibe here and the unique Asian fusion recipes. The owners were really sweet and made sure our water was filled and that we had all the sauces we needed. This was one of my favorite restaurants that I visited on my trip to Seattle

Had to wait like 40 mins before getting a table for 2, which was surprising since this place has more of a diner vibe. We thought people would have been in and out quicker. After we ordered, it made more sense though, since it took a while for our food to come out. We ordered an omelet, carbonara, a chai latte, and coffee. The hash browns were way too dry and didn't have any hold to them at all. The omelet and carbonara were good though. Would have rated higher if it hadn't taken so long to get a table and get food.

But it doesn't stop there. The moment you walk in, the hospitality hits you. Not forced, not fake. Real, warm, and ready. You feel like they've been expecting you. Now the food... this is where it gets serious. Whoever is in that kitchen is not just cooking. They are putting their soul on every plate. Every bite feels intentional. Nothing is over-seasoned. Nothing is missing. Just perfect balance, consistency, and flavor that makes you pause mid-bite like, "Hold on..." And the portions? Exactly what a Southern plate is supposed to look like. No shortcuts. No playing around. You're getting your money's worth and then some. I don't have pictures, and you'll understand why if you accidentally take a bite before you snap one. First time at this establishment I was excited. It's been on my list of places to try in Seattle…read more I was really looking forward to supporting a community that is part of the LGBTQIA+ they are also a family business well-known in the community and of color. The restaurant is very clean, was greeted by two servers working, friendly atmosphere, noise level was average and it's a smaller establishment, please keep that in mind. We ordered the french fries which are shoestring fries, side of catfish, a side of red beans and rice, and a side plate of fried green tomatoes, which comes with four bite-size pieces. Being from the south born and raised, I'm a particular about my catfish and even though the breading had flavor, the catfish to me did not taste very clean plus there was a hair stuck to the breading of the catfish. It wasn't a small hair. The mystery hair either fell in the oil or it was in the batter is my guess. Because when I went to break the catfish apart, that is when it sprung the rest of it out, there was a small curl tip sticking out of the top of the fish. Unfortunately, the green tomatoes had absolutely no flavor. I will say the red beans and rice had the most flavor. I could taste the seasoning and the spice with a little bit of heat. I also really appreciate that there was some veggies mixed in with some meat as well. The shoestring fries it's either a hit for some or a miss and for me it was a miss, but I've had lots of different kinds of shoestring fries from multiple locations, and different states. It's a hard one to make. They were fried crispy and excellent. I would say it's more of the seasoning that was a dislike. The decor throughout the restaurant was beautiful to view. There are photos of the owners their family and friends. Not only could I see the love and commitment put into this restaurant, but also I could feel it as soon as I walked in. My takeaway is for the cooks to wear hairnets and if they have beards, to also put nets on their beards to further prevent hairs falling into people's food. Fried green tomatoes are not an item that can be found at most restaurants. It's easy to make but definitely the seasoning on it could be improved. Also, possibly just going simple with the seasoning like salt and a little pepper on the shoestring fries, sometimes keeping it simple is the best. A topic I want to touch on, not because I got it, but because going through the reviews prior to coming not too many people were discussing the waffles and this was a direct witness of what I could see. I did not taste it so I can't describe how the waffles tasted, but they look like they were cooked golden brown, which was nice but they are I would say more on the thinner side than what I usually see at places that serve chicken and waffles. If you are reading this review and you are looking for a place that serves you a nice thick waffle please do not come here because you will be disappointed, and I do not want people being disappointed when they are looking for something in particular and they end up ordering something that they did not want. Besides my recommendations, as I mentioned, this is a place that is full of love and commitment and I appreciate the community that has supported this establishment. It is not easy keeping a restaurant open and it's even harder these days being a person of color to even have your own establishment. As always, my friends be safe out there. Thank you for reading this review and I'll see you at my next bite *=*

I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.

Located on the upper floor of Pike's Place, this cute bar has a good amount of seating with both table and bar top options. We went on a Saturday night at around 9 PM and it wasn't too crowded -- we were quickly seated at the bar top for a party of two. When you walk in you'll notice that they have a more rustic, dark ambiance that still provides a more casual feel. We were immediately greeted by our host and were seated right away! We were having a late dinner so we ended up getting the Tater Tots with all the toppings, beef tartare, and a side of their coleslaw. For the two of us, that was more than enough! Their portion sizes were very generous and filling. The tater tots were amazing, with the perfect amount of crisp, sauce, and toppings! The beef tartare was also so delicious with the perfect amount of seasoning and the yolk beautifully ran through the meat. For drinks, we ended up getting two cocktails as well as as a whiskey flight. For the cocktails we ordered the Turn the Page and Angel's Wings. Both drinks were absolutely amazing! It was the perfect balance of tasting the spirit with its complementary fruity notes. Our bartender also curated a flight for us based on our budget, preferences, and curiosities because we were interested in learning more about the different whiskeys and it was such an amazing experience! I learned so much about whiskeys and tried new ones that I never would've considered trying otherwise! Overall, this was such an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend checking our Radiator Whiskey if you're in the Seattle area! Radiator Whiskey with a entire wall full of Whiskey bottles is playing with fire and just crossed the line with me. I will be back to check up on that. The pulled pork sandwich was ok, but minimalist dry with just a sprinkle of coleslaw and red onions. So was the side salad, dry, with the dressing being 'barely there.' Barely there was also the AC on this night of a heatwave. With closed windows. I was sweaty and couldn't wait to get out into fresh air of the same temperature while sticking to my table.
