I ordered the Slammin breakfast style plate with hot water, subbed out pancakes for French toast. The French toast was delicious along with the fresh cut strawberries! The sausage and egg tastes great. My only wish would be that there were more strawberries and my mug was a little dirty. Service was awesome, all the servers were so kind! My bf and I waited for 30 mins on a Sunday morning around 10:30 AM, and they only call your name so make sure you're outside of the place for that. Geraldine's Counter was very busy when I stopped by for breakfast and rightfully so! There were lots of tables, but after trying the food I could understand why it was so packed. I got the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was delicious, hearty, and filling. The portion size was huge so you'd definitely walk away with some leftovers! It's nice because you get an idea of how many groups are in front of you in line to get seated. It took about 25-30 mins to get seated. The inside is brightly lit, with a diner vibe. The service is friendly, but efficient since they want to turn over tables quickly during the breakfast rush. They are known for their French toast. The flavor will rotate and that's the only option for the day. The pancakes also will have a special flavor for the day. We asked to get a plain pancake since the special that day was not to our taste, but unfortunately they only make one batter so if you don't like the special then there's no other option. The ambiance is really cozy. There is something nostalgic about the location and bones of the restaurant and it reminds me of a San Francisco mom and pop owned place from the 50's. I don't know how old the building is but the counter is classic and I am also transported to the old Ludi's downtown. The food is good and I like the hash and omelettes. I like that there is a homemade flavor to the food and nothing tastes generic. There is a reason why on the weekends there is a long line and this adds to the charm of this wonderful breakfast spot. The last time I came I stayed for a an hour and half with colleagues and it was so nice to see community and talk to friends and neighbors. We went to Geraldine's on our first day of flying into Seattle. This is located in Columbia City and parking is paid street parking. For a party of 7 we got seated fairly quickly. The space inside gives a kind of "retro" vibe and is spacious with many tables and booths. We ordered chicken pot pie (literal biscuit on top and the filling was too watery), slammin breakfast with chicken sausage (OK but the hash browns were too peppery), counter special with bacon (again OK, but the bacon was super dry and tough - "rehydrated and reheated" was our description), famous French toast (good but different than your typical sweet bread toast, this was crunchy on the outside and had to be revived with syrup), and pancakes of the day (lemon & ricotta - this was actually really good and probably saved the review). A 20% tip is already included and they charge you for using your debit/credit card. We didn't mind the tip added because our waitress was actually really nice, just wished the food was better. Overall we probably wouldn't come back again but it was somewhere open early after we just flew in. read more

The bacon was nice thick and crisply cooked bacon. The blueberry mimosa was fabulous. One of the other people I dined with had the apple cinnamon French toast. These were real sliced and baked apples. Very good. The gluten-free vegan diner had oatmeal and they really enjoyed it. Related to the service it was quick. I ordered the counter special (hash browns, over-easy eggs, and sourdough toast), a slice of marionberry coffee cake, and a mug of black coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious!
