It was a long wait, but the food was worth it. pro tip: walk over to dough joy and get a doughnut while you wait. I walked in and get a coffee shop vibe, despite being a relatively large open floor plan type restaurant with an open view to the kitchen in the back right corner. oddfellows is inside of a larger building, which you'll notice if you try to enter from the door next door or you go to the bathroom outside of the confines of the eating area. It was chilly yet sunny when we were there but we still opted to sit inside, despite hearing things about the cute little outdoor seating area in the back. they serve eclectic american food, in a cool open layout setting. now onto the food! to start: I got the eggs & anchovies. don't let the name fool you, because it sounds like unrelated two items from a shopping list, this was one of the highlights of my meal there. I think about it years later. you get four jammy egg halves, topped with anchovies and sprinkled a little parsley on top. something so simple but so incredibly good. the eggs were jammed to perfection. as a main, I got the croque madame which comes with a side green salad. both were pretty great, and balanced each other out. I did add a fried egg on top the sandwich. as good as this sandwich was, I fear the starter overshadowed the main. no matter what you get, it'll be great but definitely try the eggs & anchovies. read more

I can totally see why this is one of Seattle's premier classic brunch spots. Found in the heart of Capitol Hill, the old timey decor and cafeteria style tables and seats really makes you feel like you're eating in a restaurant plucked straight out of old history. He took my information and texted me to ensure the message went through. While we waited, we went next door to Elliot Bay bookstore. After ~20 minutes our table was ready.
