The bacon was probably my favorite part. It was thick, none of that thin crap, not very fatty, and it was cooked so perfectly. The potatoes are seasoned but just lightly which was also ok. Okay Yelp, let's talk about this place. Our friends kept raving about this place so we decided to give it a chance. The service outstanding and the food was okay. The pork belly came with a side of scallion scrambled eggs and corn and mozzarella pancakes. The pancakes were delicious, a unique and flavorful spin on corn-cake. The pork bell was good, but a bit too crispy (it made parts a little too tough). My mimosa was also good, but I prefer a little less juice. I was able to have a taste of my husband's dish (the lamb burger) and that was excellent---no notes. My only real gripe is that we were not checked on more than once the entire meal. Ended up coming here on a weekend brunch when other places were really busy and this place had openings. Honestly, I had high expectations because of the reviews, but I was pretty disappointed. I was craving an eggs Benedict, and so I had their version of the eggs Benedict, and that was unique to say the least. The tomato and mushroom sauce made it more savory and gave it a whole different flavor to the classic Benedict. The French toast was good, but I think the portion was a little small for my taste. The bread has a hard crust and so it's not what my partner had anticipated in a regular French toast dish. Do not expect soft and fluffy French toast. It is more like a harder crusted bread That is also toasted. They share their bathroom with other businesses in the area, but it definitely is a bit sketchy. When I went, it was quite dirty and the sink was clogged and I couldn't really wash my hands. The sink water faucet was really strong and full on splashed me when I turned it on. Ordered chicken fried steak and was served two square, breaded pieces of tasteless pre-made meat off some sort. The eggs were cold and the side potatoes were nothing special. Our food is as really good! My kids ate every bite of their food. I am really picky with my breakfast potatoes and these were perfect. Everything on my plate was delicious. It's also small inside so it's not really meant for large groups. Customer service was great, they do a really good job at checking on you and answering questions which I'm really happy since they added a $20 Tip. Cons - I did not know they did gratuity. We have 4 kids so I wouldn't have went if I knew bringing my kids would add a $20 gratuity. *Food is delicious but the portions aren't that big my 2 younger boys are usually able to share a big breakfast meal but the French Toast Slam that was $21 was enough to only fill up my 8 year old. *No kids menu *I didn't like their coffee $9 for 2 cups (my husband isn't picky with coffee so he was fine with his Lol) I didn't end up drinking mine **BUT I love that they did have Almond Milk available for my coffee! I appreciate having that option. The toast and jelly that come with the omelette meal were very good as well. Across the street there is a parking structure under the Bank of America it was like $1 a hour in case you don't find street parking, Highway recommend just not happy with the added gratuity that wasn't mentioned beforehand . A decent, although somewhat lowkey brunch place in Capitol Hill and it is not as busy as some of the other brunch spots nearby like Glo's, Skillet, etc. From the table set-up, this place is friendly for going solo or as a party of 2, with fewer tables for larger parties than that. We got the maple glazed pork belly and the Seattle Slam with sausage and sunny side up, substitute for French Toast. Maple glazed pork belly is relatively unique as I don't really see that in other American brunch spots in Seattle so far, though the pork belly itself was quite dry. It still has a nice flavor and crisp, and the sweet sauce made it a nice balance with the savory scallion scrambled eggs and corn pancakes (which has more of a texture of cornbread). Seattle Slam was decent - a bit basic but the sausage was very soft and juicy. The eggs were cooked properly. The French Toast was very crispy and buttery. Even though it costs $4.50 more to substitute, it was worth it. We also justified the cost as the maple glazed pork belly already has pancakes. Service was pretty hands-off most of the time, but requests were fulfilled as needed promptly. My friends and I were looking for a brunch place in Cap Hill, and amidst all the long wait times, we found Americana! We went around noon on Saturday and there was no wait at all. The waitstaff is friendly and the menu has creative variety. We shared the Cheeseburger Mac n Cheese and I got the Maple Pork Belly. All of us agreed that the Mac n Cheese was great, super creamy, and had a lot of flavor due to the peppers. Sometimes when my husband has errands, he occasionally offers to take me out somewhere new to eat. This was one of those days that I was really excited about. I googled a few places closer to the waterfront in Seattle because it was bright and sunny out which is rare for this time of year, however, I couldn't find anything I was interested in so I started looking for restaurants similar to the Carlile room and this one popped up. One of the things that I really liked while checking out some of the other reviews it seemed like there wouldn't be a wait time. The entryway is a little narrow and the space is small BUT the layout is really nice and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We got a nice little corner on the edge of outdoor seating by the window. Service was interesting. I couldn't read the vibe. It was either "I'm just here so I don't get fined" or "I'm just doing my job". Either way, I wouldn't categorize it as friendly. They were cordial though and prompt. The food absolutely makes up for what service lacks. It was fresh and cooked well. One fascinating thing happened I ordered over medium fried eggs and half came out medium the other came out Sunnyside. Never seen that before. I recommend the corned beef and hash with breakfast potatoes. I had food envy watching my husband enjoy that. I got The Broadway and liked it, though. Check this place out. read more

Here is what we noticed: - Menu seemed really decent, but not massive. - We decided to order some items that were different than you would typically find...and now we know why you don't find them often. - The Maple Glazed Pork Belly dish had a pretty dry piece of pork sitting in a pool of maple syrup. The pancakes were made of cornmeal and had some specs of mozzarella in them, but the cakes too were stuck on top of the syrup. The scrambled eggs with scallions were ok, but pretty basic. - My wife ordered the Americana Benedict...the potato pancakes were mostly patties of mashed potatoes...they would have been much better if they had been fried up a bit to make the edges crispy. She ordered the sauce on the side, which was good because we can't imagine what it would have been like piled on top of the poached eggs. Actually, I found the sauce helped to make my pork belly taste better, i.e., less dry. - Coffee was OK...not the greatest. - Service was good.
