We arrived at Quick Pack Food Mart right when they opened at 11 AM to try to get some of the freshest fried chicken possible. The wings had just come out of the fryer and we had to wait in the store an additional couple of minutes for the drums. The owner stated that they didn't have any thighs or breast that day, and while we wanted to try the sambusas, they wouldn't be ready for another 10 minutes. We didn't really want to wait for them, so we left with our haul and started digging into the chicken in the car. Fried Chicken 2x Wings + 2x Drums ($8.99) - Freshly fried, hot and steaming. The chicken is lightly breaded, resulting in a thin coating on the exterior that exhibits an almost glass like crisp. The drums, especially, are gigantic, almost like a small turkey leg, and the meat inside is moist, with juices dripping down with every bite. Both drums had a bit too much bone marrow or blood leaching out of the bones, resulting in a less than pleasant taste in some parts of the chicken. The wings did not have this issue and instead remained juicy throughout. (4.5/5) Jojos ($1.79 for 6) - The jojos seem to be hand cut large wedges, then single fried and seasoned with seasoning salt and pepper. They don't exhibit any crisp whatsoever and instead are just exceptionally fluffy and tender throughout. I really wish they battered them with the same stuff used on the fried chicken! I was a bit underwhelmed with these due to how floppy they were. (3/5) The fried chicken served at Quick Pack Food Mart is very good and is probably the cheapest fried chicken you can find in Seattle to boot. We love the chicken wings at this place! I've been coming here since 1997 or 1998 i believe. When the lady in back used to mix the chicken in batter in the big bowl. You could see her working from the front counter. It is still every bit as delicious now as it was then! THE BEST fried chicken in the area! I was hanging out with a group of friends and one of them mentioned this spot. He was so insistent that we try their food, and naturally, we headed right over. The meat itself was tender and soft but not incredibly moist. The chicken skin carried most of the spices/seasonings. I couldn't quite pinpoint what they were but I remember it being delicious. This spot is located pretty far away from any major attractions in the city. If you can find the time, I definitely recommend giving them a chance. Oooooohhhh man this place is legit!!! I have heard so many good things about this place and am so glad to try it out. It's definitely a hole in the wall and I would probably not even know of this place unless I heard it from people. But once you know, it's hard to miss it as it's a pink building standing on its own with no other business attached. Anyways, I came here hoping to get chicken and that's what I got. They only had wings and 1 leg available at the time so we ended up getting the last piece of leg and 6 pieces of wings along with some JoJo's. We had to eat the wings at home but was able to try the JoJo's on our drive home. It's not the crispiest JoJo's but the flavors are there and for 1.25, you get a generous portion. The wings and legs was still perfectly crispy by the time we got home and it was delicious. I also like that it wasn't super salty and had the right amount of flavoring. These pieces aren't your typical size either, they were humongous! So pricing was also superb. Renowned for their fried chicken! I love hole in the wall places and this places! Basically a quick-e-mart with a deep fat fryer and warming cabinet. They only had wings and legs today which might reflect availability of chicken parts due to the national pandemic. Wings were those gargantuan ones that are borderline too big to be from normal chickens. Crust is decent, paper thin and crunchy. The legs were a little disappointing and not totally as done as i personally like. The side of jojos were suprisingly amazing! They also serve Sambusas but had none that day. Also his hours are not consistent, he did not open until noon on Sunday. He recommends you call before coming in. If you come in with no chicken on display yet, he will cook to order! About 10-12 mins for wings and 12-15 mins for legs if I recall. (Also note 50 cent for card transaction, bring cash!). THE NEXT DAY AIR FRYER. Sooooo good. The crisp is still all there! After years of wonder I finally made it to Quick Pack. I was running errands in Madison Valley when I thought, "Isn't there a popular chicken joint around here?"
