    Never disappoints

Never disappoints, always a good option late at night or any time or day. Every location has been consistent

I come here often, today I went in and the very wonderful lady who's always serving the food recognized me before I even walked in and had my order ready before I even was able bring out my phone to pay for it. This is the zenith of customer service and everybody involved in that exchange deserves at least a nobel peace prize and a blessing from whatever God you do or do not believe in 10/10 I love you guys this made my entire decade

Ezell's is a A Seattle MUST! Listen folks, I am a native of Kentucky, so I know my fried chicken. When in Seattle when it comes to chicken, it has to be the Famous Ezell's! Don't even waste your time going to anywhere else! I recommend the spicy chicken, the mac and cheese, and omg the rolls! They are sooo good ! I order takeout from Ezells on the regular and they never disappoint. The chicken is always crispy and delicious, the rolls fluffy and soft, and the mac...well...you'll see. LOVE ME SOME EZELLS 10/10

Get the spicy strips. So delicious and not to hot. We door dashed to a hotel and could not try the sides until later. They did not pack utensils as requested. Chicken is amazing and would definitely buy again. The sides are ok.

    1 Pound Chicken Tender Combo

We doordashed a 1 pound chicken tender combo from here and it was. so. good. Granted it was midnight and it was definitely sort of a drunchie but I loved it. The rolls have a hint of sweetness, the chicken is super crispy, and the mac and cheese is solid. Bonus points if you make chicken and waffles with the leftovers the next morning ;)

Staying in Seattle for the weekend. We ordered Ezelle's to our hotel room on our last night so we could stay in and chill (because we are middle age). I was so excited to eat chicken and watch football after a fun day out. We ordered 2 small tender combos with mashed potatoes and orange crush. We added a side of Mac & cheese to share. Disappointment is what we got. So pros: the food came fast and the order was 100% correct. The bottled Orange Crush was a delightful menu surprise. It was cold and perfect. The ok: the chicken - it was just ok. Cooked well but just not super flavorful. Dipping in ranch helped. The bad: all of the sides!! The mashed potatoes and gravy were what my husband was most looking forward to. He took one bite and said, Nope! It just wasn't very good. The Mac and cheese was so bland that I did the same thing - took one bite and said, Nope! The rolls looked like they would be great but they just weren't. The rolls weren't bad, I guess, but neither of us ate after two bites. The second bite was to confirm that we didn't like them. It may be that our experience is down to our personal tastes but we are pretty universal in our enjoyment of all of these items when they taste good so maybe not.

I ordered a 1/2lb tender meal and they only gave me 2 tenders in the box. I called them to double check how many tenders I'm supposed to get. The lady said 4-5 and I said there was only 2 in the box and she proceeded to constantly say "we don't do that. It's impossible. We don't do that." And when I asked "what do you mean," she hung up on me. I think it's crazy how entitled they are to think they're never wrong. "Customer is always right," doesn't exist here. Would not recommend to anyone. Poor service and rude workers.

I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.

The good to the last drop sauce had bold flavors although quite salty, just perfect for dipping the focaccia in. Butter-basted cabbage was a rare treat: basted with butter that accentuates the sweetness of caramelized cabbage. Miso butter sauce a great match. The drink I ordered was less intriguing: Kinfolk (bourbon, Jamaican, rum, Cynar, and pecan liqueur) was bourbon heavy, very balanced nonetheless just not memorable. The restaurant is very clean, was greeted by two servers working, friendly atmosphere, noise level was average and it's a smaller establishment, please keep that in mind. We ordered the french fries which are shoestring fries, side of catfish, a side of red beans and rice, and a side plate of fried green tomatoes, which comes with four bite-size pieces. Being from the south born and raised, I'm a particular about my catfish and even though the breading had flavor, the catfish to me did not taste very clean plus there was a hair stuck to the breading of the catfish. It wasn't a small hair. The mystery hair either fell in the oil or it was in the batter is my guess. Because when I went to break the catfish apart, that is when it sprung the rest of it out, there was a small curl tip sticking out of the top of the fish. Unfortunately, the green tomatoes had absolutely no flavor. I will say the red beans and rice had the most flavor. I could taste the seasoning in and the spice with a little bit of heat. I also really appreciate that there was some veggies mixed in there some meat as well. The shoestring fries it's either a hit for some or a miss and for me it was a miss, but I've had lots of different kinds of shoestring fries from multiple locations, and different states. It's a hard one to make. They were fried crispy and excellent. I would say it's more of the seasoning that was a dislike. The decor throughout the restaurant was beautiful to view. There are photos of the owners their family and friends. Not only could I see the love and commitment putting those restaurant but also I could fill it as soon as I walked in. My takeaway is for the cooks to wear hairnets and if they have beards, to also put nets on their beards to further prevent hairs, falling in people's food. Taste the season that comes out, especially on the fried green tomatoes. This is not an item that can be found at most restaurants. It's easy to make but definitely the seasoning on. It should be reviewed. Also, possibly just going simple seasoning like salt maybe a little pepper on the shoestring fries sometimes keeping it simple is the best. A topic I want to touch on not because I got it, but because going through the reviews prior to coming not too many people were discussing the waffles and this was a direct witness of what I could see. I did not taste it so I can't describe how the waffles taste but they look like they were cooked golden brown, which was nice but they are I would say more on the center side than what I usually see at places that serve chicken and waffles. If you are reading this review and you are looking for a place that serves you a nice thick waffle please do not come here because you will be disappointed and I do not want people being disappointed when they are looking for something in particular and they end up ordering something that they did not want. Besides my recommendations, as I mentioned, this is a place that is full of love and commitment and I appreciate the community that has supported this establishment. It is not easy keeping a restaurant open and it's even harder these days being a person of color to even have your own establishment. As always, my friends be safe out there. Thank you for reading this review and I'll see you at my next bite *=*

Not that I was expecting her to give me a cake but a smile would have went a long way. I ordered one of their king salmon dishes that was "creole style" but severely lacked seasoning. My boo ordered the steak, which also lacked salt and was served with boxed mash potatoes, which they should be ashamed for at this price point. I also had 4 oysters as an appetizer and they were so small! I was expecting more from the seafood as it seems to be what Seattle is known for. The place is quaint and the people are friendly. And the food here delivers in every possible way. If you appreciate Soul Food and/or Southern Food then this is the place for you. The cabbage here was everything I could ever ask for. I wanted more when I was done. The Mac & cheese didn't look like much to me but man did it serve on tastes. It was cheesy, seasoned and cooked just right. The fried chicken was cooked fresh and seasoned to perfection. My breast was still juicy and piping hot. Call ahead for to go orders or you'll spend your time waiting for the chicken to be fried. The peach cobbler here is not my preferred way to have as I like a pie crust with mine but oh my goodness, I took one bite and couldn't stop savoring this dessert. Do yourself and get you some. Open Fridays & Saturdays, and the menu slightly rotates weekly so check their website ( southerngrill1.com ) to check menu and confirm hours. This place is everything and more that I could ever ask for when it comes to good ole soul food.

It's mostly because I find the large majority of biscuit places on the West Coast to be subpar - either dense and dry inside, or too similar to cake, like the baker substituted cake flour for good old fashioned White Lily. When I saw a bunch of people recommend Seattle Biscuit Company, I decided to give them a try. The first time I visited a biscuit place in the PNW a ton of people recommended, Pine State Biscuits in Portland for reference, I came out extremely disappointed. Hopefully this time would be different. I have to say, pricing is a bit ridiculous here. Just as a comparison point, the special fried chicken biscuit here is $27. The fried chicken biscuit at the place I grew up eating at is currently $5. The plain biscuit is $7 here vs. $1.29 there. Is it worth the price? I started out with a plain biscuit to judge their basic building block: Plain Biscuit ($7) - These are massive biscuits, around half a pound in weight, easily dwarfing the size of 90% of other biscuits. The smell wafting out of the paper wrapper smells heavenly with the aroma butter and flour. The taste reminds me of my childhood growing up in the South. It's distinctively buttery and salty, warm and comforting, almost spot on in taste as compared to say, Bojangles. A lot of places on the West Coast don't add enough salt or butter, making the biscuit taste unpleasantly alkaline. This one has no issues at all in the flavor department. The bake on the biscuit is fantastic, leaving the exterior with a crisp crust all around, while the inside still remains moist and fluffy. It's not particularly layered or flaky, and the interior, while fluffy, has a bit more developed gluten, making it just slightly chewy and slightly denser than perfection. When trying to split by hand, it doesn't split cleanly and instead chunks, especially in the center. Yet it's moist and doesn't crumble apart easily. These biscuits stand on their own and don't need any accompaniment to be enjoyed. Out of all the biscuits I've eaten on the West Coast so far (15+ places), this one tastes the most like a good Southern biscuit. (5/5) I was impressed enough with the biscuit that I revisited the week afterwards to try a sandwich: Gus ($27) - This sandwich seems very expensive until the plate comes out. In between the giant biscuit comes two pieces of fried chicken breast (or perhaps one piece filleted into two). It's breaded and fried generally well - the outside is definitely crisp, although it doesn't adhere that well to the chicken and slides off very readily. The interior of the chicken is nice. I usually expect chicken breast to be dry, but this one is relatively moist, not dried out at all. The breading tastes sweet and salty. I wonder if they brine the chicken in sweet tea. Each side of the biscuit is slathered with a bit of sweet mustard and peppered with pickle slices, giving some acidity to cut through the sausage gravy fat. Between the pickles and the sweet breading, it reminds me of the flavor of a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. The sandwich is served on a bed of orange-colored sausage gravy. It's thick and rich, although perhaps a little on the floury side. There's plenty of sausage mixed in, giving a ton of meaty depth combined with black pepper and spices. In terms of portion size, my wife and I shared this sandwich and we had trouble finishing it. It's definitely enough for two people, which makes the pricing a little more palatable. (5/5) Sweet Tea ($5) - This one is definitely on the sweeter side compared to what I make at home. The tea doesn't have much astringency but it does have a nice generic black tea flavor. There aren't that many places in Seattle to get sweet tea, so I'd say it's passable. I did purchase additional plain biscuits as well and I have to say texture-wise, they are similar, but these new ones tasted distinctively less buttery than before. I think there might be some consistency issues although this second batch is still really good. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the biscuits served at Seattle Biscuit Kitchen. I will definitely be revisiting in the future for more. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms.

I would recommend everyone should try this place at least once. I had the GUS... fried chicken,…read morepickle, sweet onion, mustard, egg and sausage gravy. Its a lot... im a big guy and a big eater and I could only eat half. The biscuit was great, and the gravy tasted a lot like Cracker Barrels sawmill gravy. The service was fine...simple order at the counter and seat yourself. The decor was cute kind of between industrial and farmhouse. Would I come again? Im not sure. Maybe in the winter because the food sits heavy and the cost is a tad pricey BUT...I truly think everyone should try it at least once.
