This establishment use to be Blue Moon Burger. I was there once and then it closed and reopened as Local Bigger Burger. I was impressed that they had actual burgers outside as a display of the food they make. This is always a point of contention for me when the food looks nothing like the pictures on the menu or the website. So I saw that they made a Nashville Hot Chicken Burger. This type of burger is always very spicy and heat level can range from mild to holy fire. The chicken breast is always fried and typically comes dressed with coleslaw, pickles and some sort special sauces. I asked for the hot to very hot range of spice and heat. The owners are delightful and helpful and very proud of their burger place. The place has open seating and you can self order on a touch screen, use a QR code, or a server will take your order. This was a busy weekend, but the wait was not terribly long. The chicken breast was well cooked with a nice crunch. The batter did not turn soggy after the cole slaw and sauce were added to the burger. Now the odd thing here is that the spice level was very good and it's a good time to remind the cooks that salt is a flavor enhanced, but not a spice. Putting lots of salt in the batter and more once it's finished cooking turns the burger into a crunchy salt lick. Each bite was a deep infusion of crunchy salt. It is the correct stepping stone for high blood pressure. My only suggestion here is to ease up on the salt. You have a fairly good burger, it is way too much salt. So much so I could not enjoy the spice and heat. The fries were just fries but forgettable. I am tempted to try it again, hoping they will read this and decide to reduce the salt. For $15 bucks, I got a sad looking chicken sandwich that did not taste like chicken and cold hard unmelted cheese. We tried the local bigger burger in cap hill and enjoyed our meal very much! We tried the double bacon cheddar burger meal, a smash burger, and a kids burger meal. The bacon cheddar burger was our favorite! The fries were nicely seasoned and crispy. Also did the milkshakes which were all really good! I did the strawberry chocolate and my kiddos Oreo was prob my fav. Aside from the milkshakes they also had a nice menu of mocktails and Italian sodas, lots of variety! My sandwich was all right, my expectations were low and it beat those by far. The kids fries were extremely spicy, no way could any child under 16 eat those, I was having a hard time having more than a couple. The chicken tenders were something with a lot of salt from a freezer pack. This might be the 2nd bad review I have ever posted, but the kids meal was a bad. My friend and I were having a Seattle day around Capitol Hill and decided to stop by for dinner after our wine tasting. When we arrived, there wasnt much dining in. I ordered the Impossible Burger with Tots and my friend ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich with fries. My burger tasted dry. The only sauces available were ketchup which we used for our tots and fries. I didnt care for mine that I didnt dare finish. My friend didnt mind no sauce on the crispy chicken so she was fine with her meal. Overall, I probably wouldnt try this place again. Unless I brought my own sauce, i possibly would then. I got the smokes fire bigger burger (normally $13, but was $7 with half off) which came with 2 patties, spicy bbq sauce, cheese, and bacon. The burger tasted pretty okay for fast casual food - although the burgers took a bit to come out. I haven't tried too many other burger places in the area, but Lil Woody's was better tasting. The 1/2lb burger was ok sized - probably not enough by itself for a meal. With a side it was pretty filling. Sweet potato fries were shoestring style and pretty tasty. I'll probably only come here on Wednesdays because the half off deal is pretty sweet and some of the best value you can probably get on the hill. I wouldn't come back if I had to pay full price. They have a lot of open tables available to enjoy your meal. As time passed more people came in. Most people were finishing up a night of drinking or hanging out with some friends. Storytime: For the majority of that wait we were blessed to watch an employee scooping a BBQ-esque red paste out of a bucket with an ice-cream scoop. After (literally) 20+ minutes of glacial work, she was able to messily fill a single small squirt bottle. She had no gloves on. It was impressive! This was all done in front of an order window which became increasingly overfilled with orders that nobody was passing on to customers. The guy taking orders was doing what he could to keep up with things on his own but. Oooof. This was a mess. If you're into restaurant schadenfreude this is a great place to hang out for a while. I waited 20 minutes for my food and got suspicious why it was taking so long. The cashier was gone (I think he was a younger guy) and the cook came out and asked if he could help me. The worst thing is I tipped these fools over $8.00 when I paid. She said I can come get my refund. But I can't go there at this moment due to obligations so I settled to come in tomorrow to get my refund since they won't process it over the phone. You bet I want my tip money back as well. You don't mess with my food. If you're going to leave the cash register, let others know ppl are waiting for their order. Do not tip these guys in advance. Tip then after you receive the service. For $53.00 worth of food, I expect at least average service. On top of that, there's nothing spectacular about the food here.
