Sodam is such a solid Korean fried chicken chain with an array of great deals to choose from. I love how they offer their individual-sized combos, which is what I got this time around. If I remember correctly, I paid $13.99 for 5 bone-in wings (you can choose whatever sauce you'd like, I went with soy garlic; you can also go with boneless if ya want) + 2 sides (went with coleslaw + fries). A lot of times you have to decide between a half v full serving of chicken, so having this smaller option was clutch af for me bc I had just eaten not too long ago before meeting some homies here lol. They also have a great selection of Asian beers + soju, which is mando when chowing down on some Korean chicken.

ate here with Dr. Sze and yoooooo...the food is good. so glad that there were leftovers so that I could eat more at home. they gave a lot of the complimentary complements, like the pickled radish. again, so good. I would have rated 5 stars this place, but the service did not compare. consistently messed up our order. we were pointing at the menu, showing pictures, and even spelling out the dishes. still messed up our order. they were apologetic, but really...we gave them multiple tries :( had to standby for the food to come by because waitress was mixing up orders! lots of tables and booths. lights were big and bright. they were playing K-pop music videos in the TVs at each wall. could barely hear the music and they were all different genres lol. a bit overwhelming visually. I would be neat if this place had a karaoke stage because at the back area (opposite side of where my table was), there was some room to have that implemented. again, just an idea, but this would have made this place wayyyy better than other restaurants in Seattle.

The soy garlic chicken was AMAZING. I also really enjoy the sweet sauce chicken. I got the half and half for $33 with coleslaw. It's def for 2 people. I went on a weekday early lunch so the vibe was chill.

Crispy chicken! Got take out on a Saturday night and was not that long of a wait. We got the half and half with golden and soy garlic. Tasty and crispy. Good casual spot to meet with friends. They have parking in the garage which is a huge plus!

Sodam Chicken is one of my favorite Korean Fried Chicken places in Seattle. There's also a shoreline location that's been open a little longer than the Capitol Hill one, but this has everything the shoreline location does and is open late till 11pm. We love getting the half and half party wing fried chicken to try two flavors at the same time. The chicken is fresh, hot, and crispy and the sauces are well balanced. If you're not feeling fried food or want something a little healthier, they have oven roasted and stir fried options as well. The staff were very helpful in explaining the menu and the location is big and clean. Street parking was relatively easy to find.

Came in to get some Korean fried chicken with friends, and was pretty disappointed. For a party of 3, we ordered kimchi fried rice, tteobokki, and half/half original/soy garlic (bone in). Tteobokki was good, kimchi fried rice was alright, and the chicken was below average. The chicken was super dry - to the extent that it was hard to swallow. They also messed up our order and give us boneless even though we ordered bone in. I've tried the Sodam location in Shoreline before and that was much better, so not sure if it's this location or they just had an off day. Either way it was bad enough that I probably won't come back here. Service was pretty minimal, I don't recall anyone coming by unless we explicitly called them over. Staff was friendly, though. Restaurant is pretty large and could accommodate big groups. There's also a retail parking garage, but spots are super limited and small.

Ok I'm in Seattle for a convention with my son. Hungry and parking sux around the Airbnb. What's in walking distance. This place was 10 minutes away by foot. Looks good let go!!. Order the half and half chicken with golden fried and original roasted. Garlic fried rice Max got the ramen. The star for me are the roasted chicken so juicy!! 9/10 garlic fried rice 8/10 . But it all was very good. Must try!!

Nothing special and extremely overpriced. The worker was rude and took his sweet time taking orders and serving. I'm sure there are far better KFC places in Seattle.

HONEST review- We ordered the rice cracker boneless chicken and it came a little pink inside. We told our super nice waitress and she accommodated us, and brought back our order more cooked. Once it was fully cooked we were impressed by how tender the meat still was. We also got the soy garlic bone in, this one was great. Definitely recommend the classic fried chicken over the rice cracker to be on the safer side. We came on a weekday and it was pretty empty so we had very quick service.

Delicious chicken! My husband and I made a stop here for some lunch and the food was so good! Street parking was easy to find. Food: + Started our meal with the Tokkochi mochi rice sticks + Half golden fried and half yangnyeom chicken mixed, Personally I enjoyed the boneless more because it was easier to eat and my favorite was the golden fried because it had a really nice crispiness to it. + Also got 2 sides of rice and the chicken came with their pickled radish. Ambiance of this spot is casual and can be seen as a great place to come at night for drinks with friends! Service was friendly and quick. Overall, a great spot!

* you can never go wrong with Korean fried chicken * Pictured are the soy garlic and bbq hot half/half order with kimchi fried rice, chicken yakisoba, and fries. The soy garlic at @sodamgoodchicken is very mild in comparison to the spicy bbq which packs a good amount of spice. Hot enough to make you sip water but just enough to keep eating haha . Sodam does a good job serving the food hot and chicken super crispy which I appreciate. My cousin called their fries "healthy fries" because it did not come out salted. I've eaten here twice and I would come back but it's not always top of mind as a go-to Korean chicken spot though. There is usually no wait during dinner

It is hard to find good fried chicken around here, but I finally did here at Sodam Chicken! This place is exactly what I've been looking. Their portions are great, flavors, and the meat on the chicken wings are *chef's kiss* I ordered the soy garlic (half/half) to go and I was not disappointed. The pickup process was relatively quick and my order was nice and hot when I got it. The chicken was perfectly sauced, yet the chicken was still crispy. I would like to dine in next time and enjoy my chicken in house! Until next time.

Oven BBQ Hot

A group of us came for dinner on a Wednesday. We each ordered about half order of chicken (for the most part, everyone couldn't finish the half order except maybe one or two people). A friend ordered the starter set for the group. It was fine, but what was really nice was that we got the starter set much sooner than when we got the chicken so we wouldn't get hangry. I ordered the oven bbq hot (boneless only) and it was really good. Really sticky though? Gave a few pieces out for others to try and they agreed it was the better flavor. Had some heat (spiciness) to it.

Starter Set: mandu, french fries, mozzarella sticks

Ask the Community - Sodam Chicken - Capitol Hill

Menu does not identify whether they use chicken breasts, thighs, wings or legs. Do they have a chicken breast option?

Hello. Thank you for reaching out. We have chicken wings, and boneless option is thigh or leg meat. Currently we don't have breast meat option.

We were still en route and made it within 15 minutes but were removed from the waitlist because we didn't answer the 3 minute call. Nonetheless, we only waited 10min for another table. The dining area that is nearest to reception can get "cold" particularly the corner, we sat there once and your elders will not like it. Today we got seated there again and decided to wait for the other side where the AC wasn't full blast. Its all chill. Friendly, accommodating staff. The food comes fast, like Din Tai Fung. The cost too, is like DTF. Overall, its good, but not worth the higher cost, but the service and cleanliness make it a combined 5 Star. The Kalbi Tang is the star, a must get every single visit.

It is set up like a cute korean style bar with small round tables which make sharing easier. They have a pretty good selection on their menu and we ordered a couple of items to share. The Rose Ttoekbokki with cheese was very yummy, but it kinda tasted like pasta with rice cakes instead of spaghetti. I think that is the point of this dish, so if you want a more traditional spicy flavor then get the other ttoekbokki option (spicy rice cakes). We still loved this one and the rice cakes were so chewy and delicious. The cheese corn was very yummy and exactly what you would expect. It pairs perfectly with the other dishes. My friends also shared the Seafood ramen and Beef bulgogi. They liked both dishes. One of our favorite things were the side dishes actually! The tofu was so yummy, and the bean sprouts were so crunchy and well seasoned. We even asked for extra! The only aspect that makes it difficult to come more often is the price point. Since the dishes are so big and shareable, it is easy to split amongst a group, but it is a little less affordable to come here for dinner and drinks.

I was the one saying "hello" first and saying "how are you?" before the cashier said anything. Kind of awkward/standoffish but not a dealbreaker when the food is good. Most recently I had the kimchi jigae, which was relatively spicy, even when I asked for less spicy (and they said they could accommodate). I'd say it was like 2-3 stars. Flavor was great though and it was a decent portion (for $17) and satisfying. Also, a pretty wide range of menu options, despite it being a small place. There were 4 complimentary banchan dishes (napa kimchi, cucumber kimchi, seasoned bean sprouts, and fish cakes). Note that I don't think there are free refills like other places... maybe you can ask but I didn't see anyone doing so. For 1-2 people, it's a relatively generous amount. Also, only certain dishes come with the banchan, so be sure to read the menu carefully if you are wanting the banchan.

I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have.
