The Tteok Bokki was disappointed and nonsense with less than 10 pieces of cylinder-shaped rice cake for $14.99. I won't revisit there again.

Curry sauce was watery and flavorless. Katsu chicken had nice light crust. Teriyaki was fine.

got the Notorious PIG sandwich and the Buttermilk Biscuit while I was here…read more Starting with the sandwich, there were a ton of things to love about this The very first thing I noticed was how all-time crispy the pork belly was. Interestingly, the meat came in two separate pieces, arranges somewhat like an X or a cross in the middle of the sandwich. This certainly wasn't the eating experience of a typical sandwich with a circular meat patty, and I appreciate the creativity here. The meat was insanely crunchy, oily, and quite plentiful. Each bite felt a bit like you were biting into a crunchy churro, but without the sweetness. I did think the outside of the pork did overpower the inside, though, as I didn't taste the meat or the fat inside much, and due to the amount of breading the pieces ended up being a bit chewy The bun was quite good as well - it was pretty soft, fluffy, and served as a really good bookend to all the ingredients inside. I thought the lettuce and onions also were good. I don't know if I'm a fan of the jelly on the sandwich - but again, I do like the creativity. What did shine here was the aioli, however. In a lot of places, you don't really taste the aioli on a burger - but that flavor was ever-present on this sandwich, and it was really fantastic. The absolute best part of the meal, by far, though, was the biscuit I have to start with how huge this is. This is certainly not the size of a typical Southern-style buttermilk biscuit - rather this biscuit makes no apologies in its effort to stand out from the crowd. Absolutely nobody would mistake this for a traditional biscuit - on the contrary, I think on first glance most people would assume this isn't a biscuit at all. It's shaped more like a massive pastry. I hesitate to say that looks are deceiving, because it does look great, but its taste manages to elevate past that. This was SO good. The edges are baked perfectly - they're oily, crispy, crunchy, and perfectly flaky. All four sides provide an amazing base - like the walls of a fortress that surround the soft, tender interior of the biscuit. You can see the different layers from the outside as well. When it comes to the inside, there was so much to get through but every bite was heavenly. So much credit here goes to the honey butter - which when spread onto the biscuit, raises the taste level of the entire thing. I put so much honey butter on mine that I nearly finished the whole thing. When it came to the jam, it was good, but since it didn't combine great with the honey butter I mostly ended up just using the latter This place was expensive - around 16 dollars for the sandwich and 8 for the biscuit - however, I was quite full at the end

They serve both meat and vegan dishes, and have 2 separate menus. I am very appreciative of this since the other vegan restaurant near UW closed (so sad!). But this place is good - just like Moonlight Cafe. Menu items are slightly similar, but slightly different too. They serve pretty much almost the same dishes though - and the food is still delicious! I ordered their vegan bun bo hue today to be a bit adventurous on this chilly Seattle day. And I'm glad I did, as it did not disappoint. I wish it was a bit more spicy and had a bit more of that lemongrass kick I like with BBH, but nonetheless, this place is sooo good and the soup hit the spot! The BBH came with the typical rounder noodles and had a variety of proteins - lots of yummy triangle tofu, mock meat, bok choy, carrots, broccoli, and carrots. So filling! They brought out cabbage, banana leaf, bean sprouts, and jalepenos for garnish. I also had their mock mongolian beef. It was fine - tasted like the usual seitan protein. There was definitely more onions and greens than there was meat, but that's OK. it wasn't bad for $18 given the economy we are living in now. This dish was part of the lunch menu (between 11-3pm) and it came with a thai iced tea. Not bad at all. The server was very kind and helpful. Quick, efficient, and lovely. I think I slightly prefer their sister restaurant, but I would absolutely come back again when I'm in need of some good comfort vietnamese food with both meat and vegan options. PS. Just beware, the door pressure sucks and can be difficult to open when you pull the door.

This is one of several places I've been wanting to try in the Roosevelt neighborhood, though that means parking is a doozy as is for most major neighborhoods in Seattle. When you get here, you'll see a handful of two- and four-tops along with the counter and kitchen far up the back. It's dimly lit and there's a bunch of figurines at that same back counter. I was seated with my friend immediately since there was nearly no one inside. I got their large pho with brisket, tendon and tripe all in their traditional beef broth, followed by Thai tea as I usually like to do. The broth itself was all right at best, not the freshest but generally passable. I did find myself having to add a little more hoisin sauce than what I'm used to so I could bring the flavors in more. Otherwise, the briskets, tendon and tripe all made the dish very warm and hearty despite it being a hot day most of the time. Thai tea is standard though a very welcome refresher. Service was top-notch throughout as servers would refill our water frequently and check on us. I recommend getting their large pho since it's only a dollar difference from their regular-size pho, and that's not even the only option where prices are actually really good compared to other places - other Yelp reviews corroborate that. It's really nice to know there are some great places serving Vietnamese food that isn't just in the Seattle area, and one with competitive prices for their dishes! Distance is an issue for my case but I'd still make a trip or two back here to support this mom-and-pop restaurant.

Oh, and a vodka lemonade - you can get cocktails delivered via DoorDash! Everything was super good, especially the chili cheese dog. They were really generous with the chili (a full cup of it) and it was delicious. The lemonade is made from scratch and I really enjoyed that, as well - not too sweet. When we did takeout, we each got a sandwich, and we also got a Chicago dog, "chum bucket" w/ tots, and a handful of cocktails. I'd had kind of a bad week and was basically like, I don't even care, let's just get whatever we want even if it's an insane amount of stuff, haha. They do single serving craft cocktails for takeout in little cans, which is pretty cool. And they were SO GOOD (all with very clever nautical-themed names). I think our favorite was the "No Ship Sherlock" seasonal Moscow mule. The Chicago dog was amazing - based on this and my previous chili cheese dog, I can say without hesitation that their hotdogs are 100% 10/10. The "chum bucket" tots were also really good, and again came with a very generous full cup of chili. I hate to say it because everything else was so good, but the sandwiches were pretty disappointing for the price, we both thought. I had a tuna sandwich and my bf had a veggie sandwich. They used fresh, quality ingredients, but both sandwiches were kind of bland, and a lot smaller than we were expecting for $14 apiece. That's the only reason I dropped a star, but aside from that, they are 5 star all the way. So, we would not revisit the sandwiches, but hotdogs and cocktails HELL YES YES YES!! Anything involving the chili is also highly recommended. And although I didn't really go into detail about it, chicken tenders were good, too (there were more in there than what the photo shows) - crispy and well-seasoned, and more than what I was expecting.
