Unadon, katsu Sando, Sakura popcorn chicken
Ashley L.

Very solid spot. It shares a space with Yan Tea and ordering is done through a kiosk. Our food came out in about 10-15 minutes, which felt very reasonable. Prices here are extremely fair for the quality you're getting. The unadon was especially impressive for the price, with a generous portion of unagi for around $15. The popcorn chicken was another highlight, super tender and juicy with a perfectly crisp exterior. I also highly recommend trying the sakura plum flavor, which has a unique sweetness compared to the regular version. The katsu Sando was also well done, with a thick cut of pork that was still juicy inside. Overall, a great value spot that I can definitely see myself coming back to regularly.

Nom Nom Sando is a new spot on the farther side of the Ave for my local Seattlelites. There isn't designated parking so you will be fightingh for a spot for sure. You order at a kiosk in front and they make your food right then and there. There are a couple other businesses inside, a boba one where you can grab a drink. There's also some seating but it seems like more of a grab and go spot. I would definitely be back if I'm in the area. There were a lot of options that looked good to try. Staff: Excellent (5/5) Sanitation: Excellent (5/5) Chicken Katsu Sando (4/5) The Chicken Katsu Sando was pretty good in my opinion, definitely one of the better ones in the Seattle area. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the sauce was the typical tangy katsu sauce but they have an option for special sauce. I didn't get to try it but the description made it sound like a miso based sauce that was slightly on the sweeter side. I found the cabbage to be a nice addition without taking away from the chicken.

I walked in and was greeted by a friendly face. I asked for their recommendation and so I got the chicken katsu sando with special sauce. What I can say about the sandwich is that I would get it again. It actually made me curious to want to try other items like their pop corn chicken and pork katsu sando. Anyways the sandwich. The chicken was juicy and tender. The bread had a nice toasted exterior to it. The sauce and the greens added a texture like crunch with a nice sweet acidity that cut through the heaviness of the sando. I think you'll be ina good place portion wise. I wasn't full but I do eat a lot. Recommend a side if you're hungry. Overall good experience on my end.

Bought a sando and popcorn chicken. it's extremely affordable here which I really appreciate since eating out can be so expensive these days. it's on the ave so better for students who are walking than someone driving up (no dedicated parking). staff is nice you just order on a screen and there's a decent amount of seating. the katsu sandwich is SO juicy. they did a good job here. it was steaming hot and fresh, took 10mins. I do think they're making each one individually as you order so it takes a bit of time even w not a lot of people the sign to the entrance/ door does NOT say "nom nom sando" so it's slightly hard to find and is a bit of mismatch.

I came here on a Monday afternoon for a to-go order. It's a food-court-style spot where you order at a kiosk and pick up your food when it's ready. The staff was very friendly, answered my questions, and prepared my sandos efficiently. The sandos were made with delicious sauce. I enjoyed both the chicken katsu sando and pork katsu sando. I paid for street parking nearby for 30 minutes, which was just about the right amount of time for my to-go order. Note: This location shares space with a bubble tea shop. Outside, you'll see signs for Honeybee Fried Chicken and Yantea, so it may not be immediately obvious that Nom Nom Sando is here.

New Japanese fried chicken place to try! I had their popcorn chicken and it was okay. I wasn't a fan of the seasoning. However, there's a decent amount of chicken they give and it was $5! I wasn't previously able to try their chicken katsu sandwich and I loved it. The ambiance was chill. Not too many seating available and they share the store with a boba shop. It is also self serve on the kiosk and unfortunately there's no other way to view the menu. The service was kind of good. The employee was nice and helpful whenever I had a question, however, the food took a long time to make.

I was confused if I walked into the right place since there's no sign of "nom nom sando". It felt more like a pop-up or new operation w/ only server behind the counter (I can tell she's new to the job). She was very friendly and accommodating, but didn't have the best communication on order/payment process. It felt more like a mini food court to me w/ a separate counter for milk tea, but w/ screens to watch a game (like a sports pub). The operation and layout feels a little out of place IMO, but the food was delicious and it's all that matters.

I've been wanting to come back here since I first tried their $4.99 popcorn chicken during the $5 food bite event, and I believe that this restaurant has the best value and best (personal preference) tasting popcorn chicken in the Seattle area!! The chicken is crispy on the outside, tender inside, and well seasoned- not to mention filled to the top of a sandwich-sized takeout box!! I'd love to see some basil added to enhance the flavor, it's still great regardless. As my second time back, the taste and portion size was as good as I've remembered, so this will be my staple spot whenever I'm craving or recommending popcorn chicken to friends. That being said, everything else was a little lackluster. There isn't a sign on the store for its name other than a printed poster of its grand opening promotion. This could make the place a little confusing to find, so I'm hoping that as the restaurant becomes more successful, its sign can be updated. The Katsu sandwich was good for its price, but not impressive enough for me to want to order it again. Also, the music was pretty loud, which made it hard for me to hear the server call my number when my food was ready. Overall, I'd come back for the amazing popcorn chicken!

Huge portion of popcorn chicken for 5.99 but it was a bit dry. Pork katsu was crunchy but also a bit dry. Service was quick and there are tables to sit at.

The value was really good the popcorn chicken was like overflowing out the box. The restaurant is combined with YAN tea the store itself is very cozy. I think it's rlly worth and service is really nice.

Prices alone make this spot pretty sweet. Add in the fact that the food is tasty and sized well, then it's a strong value spot. They share a building with Yan Tea which also means snag a drink (or dessert) afterwards. Order on one of their tablets. Decent amount of seating, but nothing too crazy. Takeout is pretty convenient here too. Popcorn Chicken - good Taiwanese style popcorn chicken! Just missing the classic basil leaf. Chicken was tender and enhanced by a classic powder mix of spices and aromatics. Slightly sweet, yet still salty and savory. Great snack as an appetizer or on the go with prices akin to a street vendor! Katsu Sando - pretty impressed by the sando here especially at the price point under $10. While simple as it's just basic ingredients for a katsu sando, it's delicious and flavorful. Bread was toasted elegantly, slightly crispy yet soft. Pork was juicy, tender, and fatty. On that note, it's awesome they offer both chicken and pork katsu options as many katsu spots offer only one. Could be more flavorful but met my expectations at the price.

I appreciate all the reviews that let me know that their signage can be unclear as I wanted to make sure I know where I'm going into, especially since my boyfriend was with me. We found parking across the street for $3 an hour which was the perfect amount of time. We entered inside and the employees seemed to be busy making food for some of the customers that were waiting inside. I couldn't really order off their kiosk since I was here to let them know I was a Yelp elite but they wouldn't even glance my way, even when they were handing off orders. Luckily, after the last customer and almost 20-25 minutes of waiting, we got an employee's attention and let him know I was a Yelp Elite. The employee we spoke with seemed friendly enough and ensured to make sure orders were right, while the other two workers with him were just cooking or making food. My boyfriend got the traditional Chicken Katsu sando while I got the Chicken Katsu sando with special sauce. The employee told me about another 5 minutes which was perfectly fine with us. We found a spot to wait at and I went a grabbed a tea from Yan Tea, which they are neighbors in the same space. There were different types of seating from a bench with several small round tables to a long table with several chairs and stools to sit at. The space was brightly lit and there was a spot to throw away trash or recyclables. There were two ordering kiosks and next to it was ketchup, utensils, napkins and gloves. There wasn't any music playing at first but after more customers started showing up they were playing music which was mostly composed of K-pop. Sure enough, our order was ready to pick up within a few minutes and we grabbed it to open it immediately as I hate soggy bread and breaded foods. It was honestly hard to tell if we got the traditional or special sauce or even both. We took a bite of each and I wasn't sure which one was which. My boyfriend loved his sando though, he said it was very tempting to get more food but we were thinking of grabbing pho afterwards as it was raining. I enjoyed my chicken katsu sando as well, especially as someone who is picky with my katsus, but the meat on here was so juicy and tender, there was a great ratio to the meat and breading and the amount of salad and dressing was perfect with the soft bread. Definitely will have to keep an eye on this spot whenever we're around as there is quite a bit to do on that street and nearby. I truly hope the best for the business as it is extremely difficult for small businesses.

Delicious new business on the Ave! It's a shared business with a boba place with some shared seating. The staff do stay quite busy with making the orders which is awesome to see for a new business! Self serve order kiosk makes it quite efficient and easy to order. The bowl was tasty and well balanced!

Everything we've tried here has been delicious. The grilled skewers that are favorites include the bacon wrapped mochi, the pork wrapped dango, the salmon and the chicken. We've had both the Salmon carpaccio and a yellowtail carpaccio that were seasoned just right and so tasty. The quality of the fish has always been high. We always try to get one sushi dish. The staff is great and after a few visits remembers us even though we only go a once every few months. Pro tip: Make a reservation. It's very popular and there can sometimes be long waits otherwise. Especially Fridays and Saturdays.

We walked past Secret Fort actually because the line to Indigo Cow slightly covered the entrance but Secret Fort is actually connected to Yoroshiku so even if you walk into Yoroshiku by accident just turn to the right as soon as you walk in! We were excited to try out the skewers after seeing videos and images online. We got the yakitori sampler with tare (sweet soy), mitarashi dango pork, and the okonomiyaki skewer. The tenderloin chicken was amazingly tender and juicy I couldn't resist but take a picture of the bite. Unfortunately the negima was pretty dry, the pork was chewy, and the dango was a bit too soft. The okonomiyaki also wasn't as crispy as I thought, more on the doughy side. The wagyu was great as well. You can definitely taste that they came off the grill since there is a nice smoky flavor to the skewers. On each table there is a sea salt grinder and togarashi (Japanese spicy flakes) so technically you can try all the flavors of the skewers as long as you order it with tare. It did take a while for a server to come to our table and take our order once we were seated however. A larger table had also arrived before us so there was a decent wait for our orders since there was only one person at the grill which was unfortunate. My friend and I were waiting for a while before we were told that it's because there was a large order ahead of us. Love the aesthetic of the store but overall wasn't super impressed. Since this is an Izakaya I'm sure the drinks may have convinced me otherwise but as someone who came here for the food I just wasn't blown away.

So glad we finally came here! And we're super excited to return…read more We had a great selection of omakase sashimi and ten skewers for under $60. The environment is really comfortable and feels surprisingly intimate given the high ceilings and large footprint. Servers were busy but very kind and followed through on each request, regularly stopping by to refill water and check on us (but not to an annoying extent). Really looking forward to our next visit and trying more from the diverse (but not overwhelming) menu :)

We ordered only from the happy hour menu because they had a ton of good sounding options there. The yakiton came first and was really greasy and black peppery. The yakitori meat was smaller than the chicken skewers I've gotten at Southeast Asian restaurants in the Seattle area, but these ones had a softer texture like teriyaki chicken. The kalbi beef was inconsistent. One of our plates had large pieces, while the other plate was full of small pieces. The smaller kalbi was drier. The bigger kalbi was chewier. I'd stick to ordering kalbi from Korean restaurants where the meat is more tender and easier to eat. The best item we ordered was the crispy chicken wings. They really were crispy - nothing like I've had before in terms of crispiness. Next time I would try the JFC to compare. Something that I didn't like was that they put both orders of the wings on the same plate instead of splitting them up. They split up the kalbi plates, but nothing else. It was ok to combine the skewers because they're so tiny, but the wings were almost falling off the plate they were on and very close to being a bad jenga situation with how they were placed.
