I decided to stop by on a sunny spring afternoon. This spot is located in Wallingford area. The pictures from other users on Yelp drew me into trying this spot. The shop is takeout style with some seats to wait for your order. I decided to order the chirashi don (D7) and the order came out within 5-10 mins. I walked back to my car into enjoy this meal. There wasn't any immediate, convenient spots to sit but the staff at the store said there was a park nearby. I was blown away with how fresh everything tasted. The meal was very filling and was more than enough for me. I definitely would recommend if you were in the area and craving a chirashi bowl. Hoping to visit soon in the near future.
Great quality of fish and the price is great. The amount of rice in the trio cup is a lot though so good for kids or a side. The service was great and waited about 10 minutes. It's a bit like a hole in the wall so no seating but there's a nice park nearby!
One of the best Chirashi bowl in Seattle hands down!!! One important thing to note is that this place is take-out only as there is very limited space in the restaurant. Usually there is a not a long wait during the weekdays but on weekends and near dinner rush can get really busy as the staff team is quite small. I recommend ordering ahead online so you can skip some of the wait near those rush times! The restaurant is also located on a busy street with limited parking so I usually park a street or two over near the residential area which has plenty of parking! I recommend trying the Chirashi Don which is $25 but well worth the price and you get to try almost all of the fish offerings. The quality of the fish is AMAZING and I am satisfied every time! The tuna quality stands out so much. The service is also super nice and friendly! Patience is key because there is only one person running the front but I am more than happy to wait because it's so delicious!
They were really careful about my sesame allergy, which I appreciated. I had the California poke bowl which was very tasty. They had it ready in like 5 minutes or less and it was really reasonable pricing with the portion sizes. It was also super well packaged so service was 10/10. The ambiance was still really nice with lots of wood and traditional Japanese vibes but it is take out only just to be clear.

If you can't necessarily make up your mind because of the options, don't fret. They have this things called sundaes where it's small servings of their big ticket items. So grab a bunch and find a favorite. I ended up getting 1 oyako don (egg with chicken) 1 negihama(hamachi/yellowtail): my favorite of the 3 dishes 1 salmon avocado sundae It's a great place with good eats and humble staff.
There's a great reason why this place has over 4.8 stars on over a thousand reviews! Amazing Chirashu bowl and also Gyudon. I got a scallop sundae as well which was also very tasty. I am very pleased with the value delivered by this meal and it was definitely worth going out of the way for (I live in Belltown). Gyudon was super fresh and meat was very tender. Scallop and nigiri was also quite fatty as well. Wish this place was closer! Only drawback is no seating but they make that clear before you go. Service was polite and the food took less than 10 minutes to come out.

Reviews said food took around 5-10 minutes to come out but mine took a little over 30 minutes to come out. This was on a Saturday evening. Parking wasn't too bad. There are residential streets with lots of open parking available if you don't mind walking a block or two. There is limited waiting area inside and just a small bench on the outside.

We went during dinner rush on a weekday and they were super busy like non-stop online orders, phone orders, and walk-ins but our order came out super quick (20 mins) for how many people were there. This place is takeout only so I'd suggest ordering online but it was a nice day out so we didn't mind walking around waiting for our order.
Overall, I'd say Minato serves up solid sashimi dons at a decent price point. I don't think anything blew me away, but the fish quality was pretty good. This location is to-go only and they weren't too busy on a Sunday night. I would expect to wait up to 15 mins even when it isn't too busy, but you can probably call ahead as well. There's some bench seating for folks waiting on their orders and I appreciate that they do 'sundae' sized bowls if you want to sample more of their menu. Salmon Avocado Sundae (4.25/5): I really enjoyed the marinade on the salmon and the fish was super fresh. The texture of all the toppings was perfect and the rice was perfectly fluffy as well. Unagi Sundae (3.75/5): The eel was cooked well, but didn't impress me a ton - I'd opt for their raw fish options instead. I thought the texture wasn't outstanding because of the way the eel was sliced (I prefer thicker cuts) and the sauce was just okay.

Such a solid spot! Was craving poke but wasn't feeling any of the options nearby so I landed in minato instead. I FN love anything sushi-related and esp dig salmon, hamachi, and ahi (if the ahi is imported from like Japan or Hawaii bc yooo why does tuna gotta taste so different depending on where it's from haha). This place offers allll that and more including a standard chirashi bowl and different combos of donburi and similar bowls. They were honest w me when I asked where they got their ahi from (staff said Mexico or the Caribbean) so I copped their hamachi and salmon bowl. Oooo hoooo that shi was gas tho. My only complaint is I wish there was more bc 10 pieces aint enough for a fatty like me lol. But pretty good value! Sushi rice was also solid. All dat was around $20 plus t/t. read more
This is a take-out only location for Japanese Dons located in Wallingford. The have larger bowls (Don) and smaller Bowls (Sundaes, which I think is so cute). I got the Negihana ($18.5) and the Unagi Sundae ($7.5). The prices are great, the portions are wonderful, and the fish is fresh. I ordered online and they prepped the food promptly and are polite. read more

Such a quaint place on 45th! I hope they expand in the future to allow dining in. Currently, they only do take-out and since I had some Uber credits, we decided to use that platform to order lunch for the four of us on a weekend. Parking is tricky and the 45th going towards Ballard is a busy street to begin with. So, we planned ahead of time by placing the order when we were about 20 mins away from Minato and assigning one of us the duty of picking up the food while the other either looks for a parking spot or circles around. Luckily, we were able to find parking close by but I think it will be good to have a plan if driving there. The interior looks clean and modern with a Japanese touch everywhere. I had fun waiting in the waiting area (only a few mins) appreciating their decor. We ordered hamachi don, salmon don, salmon and ikura don, and minato don. They were very fresh and we all enjoyed every dish. Hamachi was my favorite and it was perfectly fatty, fresh, and tasty. Salmon was just as fresh and tasty and the ikura went really well with salmon. The minato don was a nice mix with ground tuna, salmon and fish eggs. We are coming back. Maybe tomorrow. haha. read more
The chirashi don was delicious; it had a good portion of fish and rice. This is a take-out only place, with some benches inside for waiting. The food was ready in around 5 minutes and includes disposable chopsticks and a small container of soy sauce (if you wish). PS: There's a "public parklet" with two swing seats about a block east from Minato. read more
A great place to grab a filling lunch or dinner if you're in the Wallingford neighborhood. They are known for their delicious and filled donburi/poke bowls. A quaint and small restaurant built for grab-and-go. There are small places to sit while you wait but no real table to share a meal. The restaurant is located in the Wallingford neighborhood and there are many amazing parks to have a picnic. Their rice was inconsistent. We noticed that one of our bowls had drier more hardened rice, while our other bowl and cup had nice soft rice. The fish quality and cuts of fish were delicious. read more
My favorite takeout chirashi bowls in seattle! IMO better than fremont bowl and donburi station. The fish is thicker, and they fill the bowl with other goodies like seaweed salad and imitation crab so it feels a lot more complete. It's a small store with really kind people - it's become a regular in our rotation! read more

Minato is a takeout spot only. I placed my order online for when they were opening. I ordered two Chirashi bowls and it came with a lot of fish. It tasted very fresh and they had a lot of other good looking options on their menu. I would definitely order from here again. read more

Fresh fish and good portions! This is a takeout only spot but there are some outdoor tables shared amongst the spots in the area. I came around dinner time on a weekend and there were quite a few people waiting, and it took around 15 minutes for our food to be ready. The cashier was super friendly. I wanted to try the hamachi and salmon, and they let me get half of each which was nice :) Both fish were super fresh and tender, and it came with some shredded egg, crab salad, and seaweed salad. There was also a generous portion of seasoned rice beneath which I absolutely loved. Definitely a good spot to pickup food for a picnic! I'd come back again to try more of their bowls. read more
Found this little cute spot and decided to pop by to try it. Def didn't regret! It was pretty empty when we went (about ~6 on a Saturday) and we ordered a salmon bowl and a chirashi bowl. It's take out only, so we waited about 5-10 min inside the small waiting area for our food. The salmon bowl was really yummy, the fish itself tasted fresh. The rice was nicely seasoned as well. I wish it came with more toppings, but at that point, just go get poke lol. The chirashi bowl was a bit of a disappointment :c the pictures we saw online and on the menu showed that they had some kind of fatty tuna, but the cuts of fish we got didn't. So if you're hoping for a specific fish, I'd recommend asking if they're serving that at the moment. But regardless, the rest of the fish was good. Last complaint would be that it's super rice heavy. We were both left with about half the rice after eating all the fish. I guess you can repurpose it and make sushi out of it lol Overall, would definitely recommend. The price is super fair for the portions. Also seems like a really good place to get food for a little picnic when the weathers nice!! read more
Enjoyed tasty donburi bowls, which were made fresh with generous amounts of protein. We got the Chirashi, Gyu-don, Negi Hama and the salmon avocado sundae cup to sample. My family was happy and we plan on coming back! Ordering online was easy and order was ready at the assigned time. Keep in mind this is takeout only and there is no indoor or outdoor seating. Great customer service! They called to clarify my no ginger request, as the negi hama is mixed with ginger. I'm fine with the ginger mixed in, but did not want the additional ginger and wasabi. read more
I got the chirashi bowl which is $25 and definitely the best option to try different kinds of fish, which are great quality and sooo tasty. The space is super clean and modern but they only serve for take out. The service was also quick and friendly. There are options for bowls as low as $12, you just get less variety and fish but the portions and freshness are great! read more

We're fans of this takeout only spot! Fish quality is very fresh and prices are reasonable! Service was friendly and quick. We placed our order and it came out in 10 minutes. They have some benches to sit inside while you wait. My husband got the Minato donburi and I got the Chirashi. Both were so fresh and delicious! We ate in the little public space Parklet located in front of Molly Moon's next door. read more
Sushi was really good...and we really loved the combination and particularly the scallops. Beef was good too in flavor but I was expecting something more tender. My shock was that the bill came out to be $75 for three bowls of takeout (no dine-in option). Lots of rice underneath...so if you are hungry and want low carb this is not a good choice. You are paying for good sushi yes, but I didn't expect to still be hungry after that. Chirachi bowls were $25...so it adds up really quick! read more
Oh my gosh, this place was SO good. I saw their sashimi don's review off of TikTok and immediately added it to my list. I finally got to go here today and I was not disappointed! The fish is so fresh, portions are huge, and the cost is affordable. Both of our bowls were less than $15! Note that they only do takeout because the space is small. I hate to be writing this review, but my second experience at Minato was truly disappointing. The chirashi don I ordered had spoiled spicy tuna, and the sashimi pieces were inconsistent in both size and quality. One of the pieces of bluefin tuna had turned brown...something I can understand because of oxidation, but it tasted bad. I was also served a noticeably smaller piece of sashimi that was hidden beneath another. Presentation? Beautiful, but deceiving. The consistency and quality is definitely lacking. To make matters worse, I had brought the spoiled fish to their attention, and I was told it got "busy", and they assured me they would get back to me in 10-minutes. Never followed up. Delicious and fresh sashimi bowls!!! Been wanting to try this place for a while since the store front is cute and so glad we did. This spot only offers take outs and we got a Chirshi Don and a Salmon Ikura Don. We ordered online and pick up from the shop, the staff was friendly and efficient. We were so delighted by how fresh the sashimi is and we loved each of the pieces that we had. Highly recommend this spot and will definitely order from them again. read more
