This is genuinely the best poké I've ever had in my life (I haven't been to Hawaii yet, lol). I am a poké addict, and I just about will stop by at any poké restaurant just to try it. This spot was recommended to me by a friend. The interior of the restaurant was warm and very decorated. There were a lot of Hawaiian cultural references, which added to the ambiance. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. And despite it being super busy the day that I went, they were all patient with each customer. I had a few samples of their fish, and let me tell you, the fish is FRESH. I am usually picky with tuna because they tend to have a fishy taste, but Ono's tuna was NOT fishy at all. Also, all the different flavors of poké were seasoned PERFECTLY. I got the spicy salmon and the scallop poke. They were both buttery and tender. The flavors did not overtake the natural flavor of the fish, and the sauce was seeped deep into the salmon; the same goes for the scallop. Sometimes at poké restaurants the sauce will sit on top of the fish, but NOT HERE. This place is genuinely SO SO good. Ono is one of our Edmonds gems. Downside is there's always a long line which goes to show the quality and freshness. Solid amount of seating but fills up fast. Another tough pill to swallow is the prices being a bit higher but again, somewhat justified with high quality, decent quantity, and overall delicious. Their rotating menu keeps things interesting but it sucks when a favorite fish isn't available for that week! Ample parking because it's located in a large plaza, but may have to park a little further away in the plaza because of the amount of people. My partner and I stopped by on a Sunday evening looking to fulfill our poke nacho fix. Since it was near the end of the day, they only had two types of spicy ahi left which wasn't an issue for us at all. We got the nachos with spicy ahi, mac salad, and an extra side of edamame on top. It's been awhile but finally got poke to go this month. This spot's our favorite poke place outside Seattle. We always come on Saturdays around opening since the hamachi always runs out later in the day due to the limited quantities. Service was quick and efficient as they have lots of staff. If paying by cash then customers got a slight discount. We buy the poke itself instead of the plates since we always take it to go and enjoy back home with our sides of rice, avocados, etc. Hamachi poke was still number one with its freshness and creamy goodness. Spicy salmon poke had a good heat but not overpowering. Ahi poke with the oyster sauce and tako poke rounded out the last containers and as usual great taste and fresh fish. Fortunately, my friend rented a car for our Seattle trip this past week, so we stopped by for lunch on our drive up to Mt. Vernon. My family and I ventured out to Ono Poke for Father's Day lunch after hearing raving reviews from the Seattle Times, Eater Seattle, and close family friends. My dad grew up in Hawaii and so I've had my fill of poke growing up when we would visit (and still visit) family in Hawaii. And even after all the poke I've tasted in Hawaii, I have to say that Ono Authentic Hawaiian Poke is legit and might be the best poke I've ever had in my life! Ono imports their ahi from Hawaii and you can tell that all their fish is super fresh. Their selection varies daily, but on Father's Day, they had HAWAIIAN ALBACORE TOMBO, CREAMY SCALLOP, SPICY SALMON, SHOYU SALMON, SPICY AHI, & TRADITIONAL AHI. For sides, they had cucumber kimchi, macaroni salad, seaweed salad, vegan tofu, and edamame. We ordered one large Poke Plate (2 choice poke + 1 sides) and one regular Poke Plate (2 choice poke + 1 side) to share among the four of us, which ended up being more than enough food because the portions are large here! For poke, we chose the HAWAIIAN ALBACORE TOMBO, SPICY AHI, TRADITIONAL AHI, & CREAMY SCALLOP and for sides, we had the cucumber kimchi and seaweed salad. Of the poke, our favorite was the creamy scallop as the scallops were super sweet, fresh, and had a soft and silky texture. With that said, all the fish was super fresh and melted in our mouths. The seaweed salad and kimchi cucumber were sweet and refreshing. The sushi rice was cooked to perfection and complemented the poke and sides wonderfully. Service could honestly use some work which is a big reason of why I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 stars. When we arrived at 1pm, we were shocked to see a line of at least 50 people already inside and wrapped around the small store. It was like Disneyland! They only had one line and one cashier taking orders, when they really could use at least two or three cashiers to speed the process up. We were probably in line for 40 minutes or so and they we're on the verge of running out of certain poke- we were fortunate to have grabbed the last of the creamy scallop poke, but they didn't have enough for a full portion and so they supplemented it with more of our second choice poke. TLDR, come early and get there right when they open!!! In terms of atmosphere, they have a lot of cool Hawaiian decor, including a fake Hawaiian Landmark sign of King Kamehameha, usually issued by the government to denote protected Hawaiian heritage sites. They also have stickers from various tourist destinations in Hawaii' and a row of plastic Lucky Cats waving at you as you enter and leave. Indoor seating is tight, especially when the customer line blocks the tables. Ono has some limited outdoor seating too for the nicer days that they share with the rest of the strip mall. Super fresh ahi! Came here around 3pm on a Tuesday and they were out of fish. Came again around 12pm and luckily, they had poke left but the line was 50 deep. Still worth it! I love a poke bowl and this one is good. It's is hawaiian style poke which is less about toppings than Americanized ones. While good, the line in here is insane. I'm not usually in this corner of the city so I was fine with waiting but I'm not convinced it's worth the journey just for it. The regular is plenty of food and was honestly even just a tad too much for a single sitting for me. I enjoyed it a lot especially how saucy and flavorful everything is. Looking back, I was surprised by how much sauce was on the poke that I could then ensure I wasn't having bites of plain rice.
