Great takeout poke near the Kingston ferry! The fish tasted very fresh and came in large chunks so you can fully appreciate the color and texture. Marinades were on the salty side, even when eaten with rice. The cucumber kimchi was delicious and added a refreshing kick to the bowl. Don't waste $0.50 for the furikake since it just makes the rice even saltier, and they don't add enough for the furikake flavor to come through. Major downside was how disorganized this place feels. It wasn't crazy busy when we went (maybe 5 orders ahead of us), but we still waited 30 min for 2 regular sized bowls and saw customers who ordered after us get their orders first for some reason. I love poke and when I came across Ono Poke in downtown Kingston, I was more than excited. Run by women and in building owned by women with women run businesses, this place is more than cool. Fresh cubes of ahi prepared multiple ways, even scallops, seaweed salad, lots of different sides, there's something for everyone. The gals behind the counter were funny, helpful, offering tastes and quickly dishing up my take out choices. Other customers were getting poke bowls that looked great, too. Looks like a great thing to grab on the way to the ferry or to take down to the green by Appletree Cove for one of the Kingston concert series. The workers are all so friendly and recommended us to have to Big Eye special to get to try everything as it was our first time visiting. It was 100% worth it, all the fish is so fresh! Love Poké! And this is a great place. It looks small but there is a whole upstairs with tables. Bathroom available as well. If you're waiting for the ferry, this is a great spot. Spicy salmon is delicious! I liked the mix of rice and mixed salad that I chose. Definitely doesn't need any more sauce, it's already perfect. Spicy cucumber kimchi is SPICY!! Ono? Oh YES! If you are hungry and tired of pizza, who isn't nowadays, then walk up the hill from the ferry terminal and on the left side of the street you will find Ono Poke Too. The young woman behind the counter was fun to chat with and listened to my inane reminiscing of other poke places. Like me you may not notice the menu to your left. So I don't deal with raw seafood. However, I actually really like this joint. I get the tuna and salmon which is raw because that is how it's served. But I take it home and I zap it real quickly in my air fryer or sear it in a pan. Then I let it cool just a bit and put it on top of the other ingredients including the mixed wild greens. I add all the sauces to make a nice salad for myself. The owners are super nice people. They walked me through what poke was all about the first time I walked in the store, because I had no clue. They did it with smiles on their faces and what came across like love in their hearts. Really good-hearted owners and workers. My big issue with this is that it's tucked away to where you might miss it. I remember the first time I was looking for it, about a year ago, and I drove all around the ferry dock, the downtown area, and the back corners in town, and I could not find it. Once I found it though I as I said enjoyed it but that was only after I prepared my seafood the way I needed to eat it. And that is not raw. For me, they deconstruct everything to make sure that I don't have any raw seafood touching my other greens and such. I know that is not how this is supposed to be eaten but that's okay it worked for me. The sauces are to die for. If you get the right combination of sauces over that bed of greens with your seafood the way you like it it's delicious. The one thing I will say that I enjoyed the most is the Hawaiian macaroni salad. Normally I don't like that at all, at any other restaurant. Yet, theirs is really good. It is so good that it is now a favorite food item of mine, but only here. I say if you haven't tried it give it a try. Even if you don't like raw fish. Do what I do, get it separated out take it home slightly sear it or cook it and then put it on top of your other salad mix, and it will be deliciously enjoyable. read more

Yesterday was my first visit, and it's going to be the first of many! The poke and side dishes (I had nearly all of them) were outstanding! The yuzu black pepper scallops and limu ahi were absolutely wonderful. I want to try all the different poke flavors but it's going to be hard to branch out from these two, given how tasty they were.
