    Island HUT

The prices were great, and we were completely full when we finished. My fiancé could only finish half of her plate and the two of us could only eat two Lumpia each before calling it quits. We had leftovers for the next day and it was still delicious All in all, I'm so glad this place has opened up I can see they have a lot of support from their friends and family is very good to know they have places like this in Bremerton I can't wait to go back myself and try the other menu items like the pork and chicken dishes.

I'm going to say this place deserves more than my instinctively considered three stars, if you are a big time meat eater; so I'm giving it four stars merely to not be mean about it being a place I cannot go to again. Nearly everything is for people who love beef and pork, which gives me the willies. There are in the actual Hawaii plenty of vegetarian dishes -- a single vegan bowl (no meat or fish in the broth either) would be thoroughly basic. All I could get at Island Hut (apart from shaved ice dessert) was plain noodles -- noodles with nothing -- deeply disappointing, so this is not a restaurant for me. But portions are large and price is cheap, so for you meat eaters, a more joyful place to stop in.

One of my favorite places in Bremerton! The food is so good! We always order the chicken char siu! Definitely try it with the katsu sauce! SO DELICIOUS! We order over the phone for take out so we don't have to wait and when we get there it's ready! I highly recommend this place. The owners/workers are all super nice!

I rarely give 5 stars, but this place is awesome! Super fresh food! Very friendly staff and excellent customer service. The prices here are super reasonable and the portions are large! First time there we ordered the daily special which was beef teriyaki, Kalua pork, rice, Mac salad and 2 little lumpia's. Also got a musubi. We are not much of beef eaters but the beef teriyaki was great! The Kalua pork was super tender and melted in our mouths! The Mac salad is legit here, good flavor and very authentic! The musubi was pretty good as well. 2nd time we ordered from here (day after 1st visit) ordered the loco moco daily special which came with 2 pieces of spam and the Hawaiian BBQ chicken plate. Best loco moco we have ever eaten! The flavor of the meat on the loco moco was incredible! Wife loved the Hawaiian BBQ chicken, super tender and so much flavor! The little lumpia's are tasty too. Will definitely be back!

Delicious food! Made me satisfied and feel at home. I got the Katsu Chicken plate and my boyfriend got the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. Huge portions! Worth it. Giving just 4 stars because the lumpia wasn't their own since they ran out or didnt have any so they cooked up some frozen ones from the asian store next door. It was okay. Overall good experience and would go back again!

This place is the bomb! Huge portions, fair prices, super friendly staff! The BBQ chicken is full of flavor! It lives up to the hype!

i've heard of island hut for awhile and glad i finally tried it! unfortunately they were out of most of their chicken entrees like chicken cutlet and chicken katsu. i got the bombucha plate and the katsu was replaced with bbq chicken. the plate did not disappoint! the chicken, beef, and pork were all very flavorful. the beef was cooked perfectly with a little bit of pink and the chicken was sweet, but not too sweet. it was juicy and tender. i've had really bland kalua pork in the past but theirs is great! i had a few bites of the loco moco as well and that was good. the gravy wasn't too salty or bland and the eggs were cooked perfectly. i'm not big on mac salad because every mac salad i've had has been bland, even in hawaii, but theirs wasn't bad. i didn't love it because i don't personally care for mac salad to begin with, but i did have several bites of mine! the service was great and the prices here are honestly amazing! $62 for six people and we were all stuffed before the end of the meal. would definitely eat at island hut again!

But now they've moved to some new secret location and they're never open. I'm a businessman and I'd like to make money, and I want to be successful. So I'm confused as to why Cafe Kai is never open anymore? Don't they want to be successful in making a profit? You would think that if you move to a new location, you'd want people to find where you are located, and you'd want to be open long enough to sell some product. Cafe Kai's food is very good but their location is terrible and their hours are horrendous. I certainly hope the owners at Café Kai will read this review and maybe they'll pull the heads out of their rear end and stay open longer and perhaps make a couple of signs showing the secret hideout where they have moved. We hope they will change course stay open longer so that we can find them. OK guys ball balls in your court.

Then I happened to be channel surfing and caught Cafe Kai featured on KING5 Evening on 1/13/26. The Homie and I made sure to stop by after driving around from I-5 South/Hwy 16 and across the Manette Bridge on 1/15/26 to Cafe Kai's new, bigger location. No more drive through window and tiny retail spot. Bremerton's Manette neighborhood has become a destination detour with Saboteur Bakery, Vim & Vigor, and now Cafe Kai! Their new location is located at the corner of 11th and Perry with adjacent street parking. Upon entering, bright interior and sleek, streamlined design. Same welcoming vibe. That day we've been having a progressive eating mindset on our drive from Shoreline, Seattle, Tukwila, and now Bremerton. We had better restraint and bought only two Teriyaki Spam and one Hawaiian Hot Dog musubis, plus a bag of Li Hing gummies. Their menu features several musubis and refreshing beverages. I also enjoyed my brief convo with one of the owners, Jamie Cancel. There's something really welcoming when meeting indie business owners whether from Oahu, Kauai, Maui, the Big Island or on the mainland. It's that genuine sense of ohana or family I've consistently experienced. Musubis were nicely wrapped and piping hot. That day it was sunny and breezy leaving Cafe Kai with the goods. Now if it had been a bit warmer, with sand & surf nearby, wearing Tshirt, shorts, and slippahs with two fisted musubis from Foodland or Pukalani Superette, sigh as I digress in a brief daydream. Delicious ono grindz! Congratulations on the new location and celebrating their ten year milestone this coming summer! Mahalo nui loa!
