Came by Poke & Prep this past Saturday with my 9 year-old daughter. The staff greeted us right away and instructed us on the ordering process. What I enjoyed before getting to the food was the way this adorable shop was set up. My daughter was immediately drawn to the swinging egg chairs. The place was clean and very spacious. I had a basic salad bowl with spicy tuna and salmon with cucumbers, edamame, crab, and tobiko. My daughter had a rice bowl with tuna and crab for dayyysss in hers. We enjoyed the fresh ingredients and portions. I was so busy that I neglected to take a photo of our bowls but I'm dropping a photo of my kiddo in the egg chair while we played chess. I felt like I had one bite of each of the sides that I got. The poke doesn't taste fresh at all and the flavors are not good. The spicy poke just taste like fish soaked in siracha. Stopped by for a poke bowl before work yesterday. Service was quick and the process was easy. Was directed to a little slip of paper to fill out for what I wanted in my poke bowl. I didn't take a picture unfortunately but this was hands down one of the best poke bowls I've had in a long time. The salmon tastes really fresh and of good quality. The torched scallops were BOMB. I wish there was a little more avacado but perfect otherwise. This will definitely be a regular stop. read more

Best boba in town. The costumer service here is like no other, each staff member is very kind and down to earth. The boba is fantastic! Finally good poke is nearby! I dropped in after seeing something about a new poke spot opening up on FB. It was a little busy with people ahead and behind me. There were a few options for fish and like with most poke they had the sides such as edamame, onions, ginger, avocado, masago, and the sauces. They're still really new so it seems like the people making the bowls/drinks need some more practice/training and then it'll be a hit. I ended up ordering two bowls and two drinks and they were good. Only two of the options for fish were gluten free since they all had some sort of glaze which was a bummer for me since I'm not a fan of spicy butttt I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did. The spicy salmon was really good, a little heavy on the sriracha perhaps but good! I'd get it again. I didn't realize we added additional sauces at the end and I wasn't offered so I had to ask for them on the side after I paid. For the drinks, I had the jasmine milk tea and it was good but the oolong milk tea didn't really taste like oolong to us. I ended up paying and then waiting, it took them a couple minutes to ask what I was waiting for and then once I told them they started to make my drinks. They have a minimal but cute seating area and it's probably really good for photos. I totally forgot due to being excited about the poke lol. The employees were all friendly, and overall I can't wait for this place to be open longer so they can get that practice and be five stars! read more

The food at this place is great, but the service could use a lot of work. There is no good reason for it to take 20 minutes for a customer to get a poke bowl, a drink, and be rung up. One person be hind the counter is not enough to staff this establishment effectively. There should always be someone at the register to ring people up and make the drinks. This means a minimum of two people behind the counter. Ideally there would be three. One at the register and two others pumping out poke bowls as fast as they can with accuracy. Set a goal of getting a customer through the line completely in 10 minutes or less. I would encourage the owner to go look at other restaurants with the same model (Subway, Chipotle, etc.) and see what they are doing. How many employees behind the counter? How fast does it take to get through their line? What role does each employee play when serving customers? This place, as I said, has great food. Once they get some service issues resolved they will be unstoppable. read more

I went to their soft opening on January 5th and loved their atmosphere, bubble tea, and food! The owner Jason is very welcoming, professional, and has great work ethics. The cashier Kamaile is such a sweetheart and Anthony was attentive and friendly. A fast grab and go place or sit down restaurant. I would definitely check them out! read more

My first time being in here and I didn't know what to expect. It's good but the portion is small. There was more rice if anything. The ratio of fish to rice is off. I've been to other places like this and they do not skimp out on the protein. I'm not so sure with the price too because it's expensive with small amount of protein. Then you go to another place and the price is worth it for the amount you are getting. Just my opinion, but I'll definitely comeback if I have a craving. read more

I was excited to try this new place out. I bought the 2 protein bowl and it came with a mini scoop of ahi poke and 2 small slices of unagi (extra $2). The portion size is really small for the price. I counted only 10 small cubes of ahi and 2 slices of unagi. Ambiance and service was good. I ate my lunch here and I love it! I've read the bad review of the place and it did make me slightly suspicious at first, but when I arrived there, it was not the same as the people who had left bad reviews made it seem to be. The food was mediocre. It was as "mid" as you can think it be, or even lower. my expectations were high as it took for the food prep wayyy longer than it should have. But I got nothing but disappointment when I received my bowl. The portions for the bowl were a disappointment. Let's not even talk about the matcha milk bubble tea. It's an acquired taste for some, but it's mediocre once again. The flavor wasn't so "matcha" but more as a vague watered down drink. I could still feel the powder bits in my mouth as in wasn't shaken up very well. But the best part about this place is the vibe, they have a cool setting in there with decorative walls and chairs. TERRIBLE customer service. They left me waiting for almost 15 minutes when there were 3 employees there and only 1 person ahead of me. Then they tried to serve me wasabi instead of avocado and when I pointed out I did not order wasabi (and actually HATE wasabi) they claim they have no avocado. This poke spot is excellent! Reminded me of all the great poke spots back home in San Diego. The fish was so fresh and flavorful!
