I will start by saying I grew up in Hawaii and I love spam musubi. When I see a Hawaiian cuisine spot I will always try the musubi first. So when waiting for a ride I decided to order myself one at Star Poke. Very awesome Star Wars collectables decorating the place but no one behind the counter. A min later a young man comes running over from Star Vape next door which I learn upon chatting he was working at both simultaneously. Now onto the Musubi I ordered it $6.99 quite high but everything is there days. Got it very quickly in a fancy wrapper. He asked if I was going to eat it right away and I said yes so he helped me unwrap the triangular musubi. Flavor was right on tho it was missing something. What was missing I tried to think what was odd about this first bite then realized the spam. There was no spam in my first bite. So I open it up and look inside for the spam which when I found shocked me. This piece of spam was 1-1/2"x1-1/2" and tapered from maybe 1/8" to 1/16". It was a sliver. It was weird cuz spam is what makes musubi, it's what I look forward to the most. Now I would not have left this review had it just been that I'm leaving this review cuz of what happened next. I mention to him about there being spam not even covering half of the rice and the spam that is there is a very sorry piece to say the least. His response was "that is how we do it". And that "well it's more of a Japanese style". WHAT!?!?? well the sign says "Authentic Hawaiian cuisine" not Japanese. When I asked if he could possibly add some more he said no and I pointed out that not even half of the rice was covered. I told him that was not a very good way to gain a new potentially very regular customer and that I would not be returning. As I was saying this before I could complete my thought he said "oh gotta go customer next door" and slipped from the kitchen throuh a door directly into the Vape store. Not a great first impression. I opted for all of the "sides/toppings", ahi tuna, and the sweet/spicy Samurai sauce. I'm so glad I chose that sauce- Im not sure I'd enjoy a creamy, Mayo sauce with raw fish and veg, but that's me. I was at first taken aback by the price (honestly, everything is expensive nowadays though), but after receiving the meal, it was stacked up high. The portion was very filling and I think it's a good value for what you get. They have their own style of poke and it's interesting to have a mix of crunchy greens, crunchy fried onions, and sauces. This is not a typical poke place! Interesting Star Wars theme in a tiny shopfront across the street from Costco serves a few poke options with a slightly confusing menu. You place your order and then the girl at the front brings the order ticket to the guy in the back, who makes your food, and then the girl goes back to get it and brings it out. It is basically standing room only, which is hard to tell from the photos others have posted. I was here when two other people were waiting for orders and there wasn't room for all of us to maintain proper social distancing measures of 6' apart while also keeping 6' away from the cashier. Parking is odd..you have to turn at the light and then immediately go into the next driveway. If you see the Costco gasoline line of cars on your left you've gone too far. Once parked you have to walk up the hill and out to the light and turn left. The tiny shopfront is the second on the left. The food was decent, although the toppings part of the menu was confusing. I started listing the items I wanted and the girl cut me off saying you get all the items. I was like great, but I don't want all the items.. anyway I was able to tell her what I didn't want and she put the order in. It only took about ten minutes and then I was out of there. I got the shrimp when I realized I couldn't see the fish in a clear case in front of me. I wouldn't ever get raw fish in a small shop without first being able to see it so that was a real problem for me here. Other than that the food was okay but a bit pricey for what it was. Pleasantly surprised at this poke shop! I got a 2 fish bowl and if you want another scoop it's $1 more. It comes with all the toppings with no limit or extra charge besides avocado! But I came during Halloween so they gave us gummy bears as a nice little treat. The chalkboard with the menu was very busy and hard to read, so you're better off reading off their menu cards. The restaurant is tiny and no dine in at this time. The poke instead was pretty solid and filled me up. Th sauce was a nice combo of sweet and spicy and either over powered the other. The decor of the place was kind of odd. Star Wars and k-pop seemed to be the reoccurring theme with even life sized characters on display. My last bowl I got, I decided to splurge on the extra avocado for $1.50 and they gave me one little slice that was evident they just scraped off the skin. The portion of fish was much smaller than I get at other places, and I'm pretty sure they over charged me. The menu listed a 2-protein bowl as $12, plus $1.50 for avocado, yet somehow I was charged $16.01. I'm so torn about this place... such mixed feelings, I'm not even sure where to start. First of all, it's impossible to find this place... I drove back and forth and missed it a couple of times. Finally had to just park and find it on foot - it's mixed into a building with a sign that's hard to pick out. Second, the entire inside is Star Wars themed, and the TV is playing K-pop, and the man at the register is a very chipper young white punk guy (complete with ear gauge, dyed black hair, tats) who uses Star Wars greetings. All these things individually are perfectly great... but together it causes so many cognitive dissonances. That's neither here nor there. I ordered what the guy recommends, 3 fish combo with salmon, tuna and eel everything (except greens and pineapple) and added avocado. The order came out relatively fast. I was immediately sadden by how little food it was - perhaps because I read from a previous yelper that the portion is generous. I got a total of 3 tiny pieces of eel (which was cold, in case you are used to warm eel from sushi restaurants), 5 small cubes of tuna, and 6 small cubes of salmon (some of which had skin still on it - not a fan). Also, not sure how fresh the fish was... although to be fair, it is late on Sunday. I definitely still felt hungry afterwards, which was really extra disappointing given how expensive the meal was ($23 after tax and tip). On the positive side, I think the sauce here is the best flavor of any poke restaurant I've tried so far... so that's a huge plus, which brings it back up to a 3-1/2 (rounded up to 4) star rating. There are two counter tops you can dine in, no tables. It's very small, about 300 sq feet in space. The dish. Salmon, tuna, cucumber, avocado, Lima beans, crab salad, ginger, pineapple, seaweed salad and other (crunchy stuff?). Definitely a lot of different taste in one dish, but it's delicious. Use the ginger to reset taste buds. Customer service is pleasant. I paid an extra $3 for avocado, which was extremely browned and tasted like it's been sitting in the trunk of someone's car for a week-- absolutely rancid. Great place for a quick take-out order! Decided to eat out for once and get poki. Upon doing further research on Poki places around Seattle, I decided to try out this place. Initially coming to this location, the parking is a little confusing as it is located in the back of the store, but it's easy to get to once you find it. Upon entering the small, Star Wars themed shop, I was pleasantly greeted by the employee. The menu was located on a chalk board and relatively easy to read so I already knew what I wanted to order. The poke bowls are formatted in a BYO fashion so you can exercise your creative freedom to cater your Poke to your liking, even down to the sauce. I went with the salmon poke bowl and opted out of the avocado for the toppings as it was $1.50 extra. The customer service was excellent! We received our order relatively quickly and was on our way. I ordered the ahi naked so I could marinate it myself so not sure if that had an effect or not but still sad. The fish had several fatty pieces that I couldn't chew. Not sure why they had so many poor reviews!!!! It seems like most of the issues were with Uber Eats and Grubhub. This place serves excellent quality Poké at a reasonable price. Great customer service! The dude behind the register is righteous: "May the force be with you." Loved the 3 fish poké bowl! The fish was fresh and the BBQ eel was fatty and delicious! Loved the Lava sauce. It's not too spicy like some folks complained. The crispy onions were a nice crunch with the furikake. Edemame and cucumbers were crunchy and refreshing! Got off work and was hungry for some fish, decided on poke that was closest to my house. Was definitely thrown off by the Star Wars decor when I walked in but I thought it was quite unique and pretty interesting to look around. I got a two scoop of tuna and salmon with all of the toppings outside of scallion. Bowl took less than a minute to come out, I finally got home and took a good look at the bowl. The presentation is pretty but I would say that the quality of fish was not that great. So disappointed to get only 9 pieces of salmon for an order of 3 proteins ( 3 portions of salmon ) for the cost of $15. Definitely the smallest portion of poke that I have ever got compare to other poke restaurants. I called the business and sadly they put their fish by numbers not by scoop, apparently It is a normal count for an order of 3 salmon portions. I asked what happened if I only order 1-2 salmon orders, how many pieces will I get ? They told me 6 pieces. Most poke restaurants that I went, they scoop their fish not count it by pieces. And yes, those small number of salmon were hidden under the vegetables, rather than put it visibly in the bowl. I had to pick out those salmon from under the veggies to be visible for a picture. Adding: I ordered with all toppings 808, except edamame and ginger ( I had to use this option because of the limited list option from doordash app ), as you can see in the picture very limited seaweed salad, limited crunchy onion, missing some toppings, NO imitation crab meat.. just lots of salad veggies. The best poke bowl I have had in Seattle. I've tried places all over the city and this is by far the most original and the portion to cost ratio is fantastic. The poke (i got the marinated one) was marinated with raw onion ! It was so overpowering that really hide if the fish was fresh or not. I would suggest building your own bowl and not getting their 808 option because something in there really messed up the whole flavor of the poke bowl. I was looking for a poke place and found this place just a few miles from the college! Location is great, just off Aurora and next to Costco. I have ever only had homemade poke so I was interested in what a local shop's poke would compare. I had ordered the one fish bowl, salmon poke, original sauce, with all the sides (except shrimp) for my bowl. After completely finishing the whole bowl I can say that I wasn't as satisfied as I was expecting to be. Right off the bat I could tell the salmon wasn't fresh just from the color and smell but was still decent. The overall favor of the bowl was more vinegar-y than I thought it would be. I did take the bowl to go so I had the chance to go home and add soy sauce since it was lacking a salty flavor. Overall the bowl was decent, nothing amazing but good if you want a quick fix to fishy cravings. This is a long one... but bottom line is: for now and until Star Poke gets their stuff together go somewhere else. Make it at home it's probably a better experience. My experience for the past 4 years has been great (slowly disappointed by serving sizes). Service was great, flavor was great, serving size great. However, I've started noticing how small of fish portion they have been giving and at the same time pricing has been increasing. On today's order I asked to get a 3 fish, expecting to get more fish (my typical order is of two fish but I wanted more and was willing to pay for more), however it coma to my surprise that ordering this would give me the same amount as a two fish. I confronted the person in charge and he said that the amount of fish (i.e 1, 2, or 3) isn't subjective to amount, all three contain the same amount of fish. This is absurd since price does go up as you move up the fish number and price is very high for food like this. He went on and explained that they had to hire more people, and COVID, and blah blah blah that the Seattle times and urban eats criticized them for cheap prices and big service g sizes so they had to adjust it. (They probably have my video so it'd be nice to see that conversation again) He even went to tell me that if any employee gave me more fish on any previous occasion based on the number of fish (i.e. 1, 2, or 3) then that employee should be fired. It's sad to write this review but it's for their own good. And for people to not get abused. The market will fix itself and if places like this would go broke it's because there's no demand for it, might not be the food or the people but maybe just a bad deal. Poke Star, get your stuff together for your own good. I'm ok driving 20 min more for a better place, and I will from now on. Maybe I'll check back in 6 months... never fear. there is, parking. take a right past the little strip mall building and there is plenty of parking "down below". this is a very cute place. the owner is a huge fan of star wars and the seahawks. i love his personality exhibited in the space. i could spend more time than necessary in the restroom admiring all the star wars collection on the walls. the seating is a bit odd. narrow eating bars against the wall on one side of the space with stools. there is no other eating /seating. i would venture there is room for maybe three 2 tops on the floor. the young lady at the register sounds genuinely happy to see you. she stopped by twice to see if everything was ok and if we were enjoying our meal. she is very detailed in explaining "how it works". here is how it works: pick 1, 2, or 3 fishes and/or tofu. some cost a little extra than others. you can get salad greens only, or rice. the House Creations come with the bowl. default is you get everyothing so the best plan is to say what you don't want rather than what you want. and, that's a ton of extra food that includes a shrimp, edamame, seaweed salad etc.etc. for me, next time i will skip the sushi ginger (clashes with the poke flavors), the nori (got too soggy). btw. the orchid is edible. ok, deep breath. the fish: average quality. the tuna was average. it was not the terrrible pink tuna served at crappy places on crappy "sushi" rolls, but the tuna missed. the salmon was better than the tuna. the serving size was impressive. my 2 fish order with tuna and salmon with rice came with salad greens anyways. i chose the Original which is "japanese" style with ponzu and sesame oil, but i missed the shoyu flavor. nevertheless, it was good. i am not a fan of the creamy mayonnaisey poke flavors. next time i will ask to hold the salad greens with my rice. it's worth a stop if i'm in the neighborhood and i'm in the mood read more

Disappointed. It's convenient and decent compared to other Poke in the area, but has nothing on some of the places in Seattle like Fob poke. The service is really friendly, I'll have to give them that. The shop is tiny and only had seating outlined amongst the walls and windows. We came here on a weekday during lunch time and there was only one other customer who came in during the entire time we were eating. The big downfall, the fish was still partially frozen when we were eating it. This immediately degraded the whole experience as it was now obvious that the fish wasn't fresh, and then had me wondering how old the fish actually was.
