I got the 7pc salmon nigiri. It is very hefty. Lots of rice and thick cut salmon pieces. Good to try just once. I never thought sushi could be overwhelming. But this was just that. It was too much of one thing. I love salmon and wished there was a salmon variety box or something. It was either this or the raw salmon option. If they had any other options, they were out or it was not listed on their kiosk menu. After eating two pieces, and my husband ate one, We had enough. I think it was about $28-30 for this. Not enough wasabi/Ginger for as thick as this was to help cut the single taste. We got tired of this real quick. You enter and order at the kiosk. I came around 5:30pm on a sunday and there was no line. The restaurant seems to be take out only. I got the rainbow bowl - it came with 3 pieces of salmon, two pieces of tuna, and one piece of cooked shrimp with crab salad over sushi rice. The portions are so great and makes up for the price I think this was around $24 and it was enough to share with a friend. I love salmon but I got flavor fatigue by the end so coming with a friend or friends to split is what I recommend! I think it just run by an older couple so sometimes they run out of rice (or so I've heard) and service can be a little inconsistent. But when I went this time it came out it 15-20 mins. Finally got a chance to try this sushi spot and see what the hype is about the large nigiri! We went in around 1pm and there wasn't a wait at all despite seeing reviews that the wait can be long. It's kind of interesting. It's not so much a restaurant and more of a small take out spot. You just order from a kiosk and they prepare the sushi from the back. I chose the seared salmon and the seared tuna roll. I thought the seared tuna had an odd flavor as if it wasn't real tuna. The quality of the fish is mediocre but the pieces are large. The nigiri has too much rice and it really filled me up. We shared two orders for two people and we finished it all feeling stuffed! I saw there was no one at 12:10pm and decided to just chill outside but it was freezing cold, but some people actually arrived way sooner but just chill in their car, but they were fine with me setting the line since I braved the cold to start the line. While the place says they open at 12:30pm, they didn't open until 12:38pm. As the first one in line, I ordered and they said 15 min as the food is made to order. I didn't get a text but rather a call which was immediately hung up so if you get that around the estimated timeframe, then your order is likely ready. I got the seared salmon nigiri ($23.99 now, they raised the price quite a lot) and the sexy roll ($20.99). Somehow after taxes it came out to $49.50 and I was confused how I was overcharged but they have a hidden 4% credit card transaction fee, yikes. For 2 items this price is very steep but also it somewhat makes sense because the portions are huge. The 2 orders were good for 3 people for a satisfying meal. The seared salmon nigiri is super huge and the premise of what made this place suddenly so popular from the viral reels. I think it was decent but the appeal is that it's huge. The amount of rice was sufficient for something so huge. The salmon was fresh. The sexy roll is mostly tuna - fresh tuna on top, spicy tuna inside. It had a nice Korean-inspired flavor and it was also similarly huge and packed with ingredients. Honestly, while I enjoy it for the uniqueness of being huge, I strongly prefer smaller rolls for a lower price so I can try more things and not be overwhelmed by all the ingredients. What shocked me was that 18 minutes into opening, they're closed for a while since there were too many orders. I'm glad that I got to try Sushi Blue at least once. Came a couple of times but each time it was either super busy or wait was long. There's really only one person that's there so understandable they can only do so much due to the viral media demand. Fish was decent quality and portion sizes are pretty huge. Rice quality was just ok. It'd be really great if the rice tasted more like vinegary sushi rice. Sizes are more of a novelty and the pieces are really too large to truly enjoy for me personally. But glad they're doing awesome business-wise. Seared salmon rolls were the best tasting ones, in my opinion. Honestly Sushi Blue is a bit overhyped, mainly because of the size of the nigiri pieces. I've been wanting to take out Sushi Blue because it was trending on TikTok for a while and after trying it, it is not somewhere I would consistently go to. I love that the nigiri is pretty big. I think we got a container for seared salmon and the other was regular salmon, but in general it was so hard to eat. The fish to rice ratio was pretty drastic and you ended eating more rice than fish. Other than that, it took quite a bit maybe like an hour for the sushi to be ready. Reminder that there is one person making these and it is just take-out too. We spent our time shopping at Fred Meyers while we were waiting on the sushi. An incredible sushi place! Wow what an incredible hole in the wall sushi spot. For starters, their portions are very generous for the price. Pictured below is sushi combo B and it could easily feed 2 people. The salmon quality was amazing, nice and buttery nigiri. The rolls were also delicious. I really liked the tuna roll and I'm not even the biggest fan of tuna. The topped fish on the rolls is a little salty but other than that, absolutely delicious and delectable. The shop is sort of like a stand where there's a counter but no seating. You order at the front, wait about 15-minutes, and then the order is ready. Just be aware there is no seating indoor or outdoor! Probably have to take it home or have a car camping situation. Service is great. The lady at the front is really nice. The first time I came a bit too late and she was sold out for the day. This time, I came and there was a line of two girls in front of me. When I went back to pick up (about 20 minutes) there was a sign that said SOLD OUT this was around 7:15pm. While waiting the 20 min I did pass time by grabbing some boba across the street. The line to order here does get long pretty quickly. I was the first person to order right when they opened at 12pm so my 7 piece spicy seared salmon was ready to be picked up in less than 15 minutes. This is a takeout only restaurant and the only area to wait is outside. While I waited, I walked across the parking lot to pick up some bubble tea so time went by quickly. The salmon nigiri pieces are definitely the biggest I've ever seen, and very filling at that. I was thinking that it would have been better if I had shared with someone lol. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking but not really relevant since this place is take out only. So be sure to expect to eat it right away in your car or somewhere else. This tiny spot always seems to be busy and a line out the door during prime times is usually an expectation at this point. That and the fact that you can probably only fit 3-4 people at most inside at any given time. The menu is very simple and the main hitter is their overly generous serving size of sushi; definitely make sure to not eat with your eyes when looking at the menu. For the price you pay, you can't find anywhere else that can beat it in terms of portion and size. But in that, that's just it. The nigiri has no special difference from any other sushi location and the flavors are what you'd expect from salmon and seared salmon nigiri. Because of the sizing, the rice on the regular salmon nigiri was a bit dry on the outside. The salmon tasted fresh but felt a bit much when eating one piece. This carried over to the seared salmon nigiri where it felt overly sauced and oily due to its size. Would I come back?
