Misoya roll and sweet shrimp
Alicia X.

Decided to stop and try this sushi place out before I did some grocery shopping at hmart. It's a cozy restaurant where the back half is booths and the front is tables and a bar section. I sat at one of the tables in front of the booths. There are reviews about questionable service and It will agree. It seems there isn't someone dedicated to being constantly in the front so I was confused for a little bit on what the menu was. I was eventually given one. I ended up ordering the roll named after the restaurant and a sweet shrimp. I was given a miso soup although just chopsticks and no spoon. The roll was good but I was more amused by the sweet shrimp. I don't typically order sweet shrimp so I was amused to see that they'd fried the head. That is something I am a fan of because of the reduced waste. Overall I was pleased with my food as it felt reasonable fresh, at least the shrimp was. I don't think my roll involved that much raw fish but it was tasty.

Food was awesom!! can't believe it's actually better quality and cheaper than the sushi chain across the street. Everything tastes fresh, nothing frozen so the fish texture's perfect. Definitely coming back.

This isn't a big place. The menu is good but definitely not exhaustive. However the sushi is all very fresh and perfectly balanced. The service is outstanding. I highly recommend this place

The food (sushi) is very good. The service is good too. The ambiance is a Japanese cuisine. It's a small place, but the food is delicious. I will come back to dine here again.

A really excellent sushi/teriyaki restaurant in Lynnwood! Came here with my girlfriend after work one day for an early dinner and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and overall great experience. The sushi tasted fresh and the hot food was very tasty. The atmosphere was quite nice and the entire restaurant was very clean. This place is located in the same shopping center as H mart but closer to the America's Best glasses place. I really recommend if it you want above average teriyaki and sushi for good prices.

Salmon roll with avocado

After seeing the rave reviews, I decided to try this spot out. I was there before dinner hit and the restaurant only had one other table of 2 people. I ordered the Sunshine Roll, which was a California roll topped topped with spicy ahi tuna and the salmon roll with avocado. Not only was the meal very disappointing, but the service was equally disappointing. The staff did not seem concerned in taking my order and following-up about the meal. I had to get the staff's attention when it came to ordering and grabbing the check. I landed up not finishing everything because the fish tasted old and spoiled. I was so frustrated with the service that I didn't even bother to address how poor the quality of their food was. The next day I had a terrible stomach ache. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this establishment.

Ever have one of those annoying Mondays, add in pouring rain to amplify it, and all one wants is to take a time out and get away. (No segue to a Calgon or Southwest Airlines commercial?) Well somehow I found myself at Sushi Misoya and decided maybe this first visit will help me chill out. At this establishment there is the no frills, but efficient customer service. Decent quality Japanese cuisine. There was only two people doing essentially everything (tipped above 20% for their efforts). With my crabby attitude, just as well I'm being left alone to focus on the meal. Stuck with plain cold water (no refill provided). A bowl of piping hot miso soup was also provided. I had to cool it closer to ambient, but it had decent flavor with the tofu cubes concentrated at the bottom. The sushi combo I selected had half a California roll and five generous pieces of nigiri sushi: kana/salmon, ebi/cooked shrimp, hamachi/yellowtail, tuna, and unagi/eel. This was followed with the tempura comprised of two fried shrimp and vegies. Vegies like broccoli, onion, potato, sweet potato. The lunch combos, bento boxes, nigiri sushi, noodles, and assorted rolls provided a large variety to chose from. Decent value and quality. Worth returning!

And the only staff member serving that day was so efficient, and in spite of her load, she was still very friendly. All decked in smiles! The food was also outstanding! I have always seen Japanese shows where the characters always eat potato salad (poteto sarada). I can scratch that off my bucket list... LOL! Everything else just tasted so good! In fact, we recommended this to two close families of ours in Seattle and they also sampled the food and loved our recommendation! The place is beautifully decorated. With enough light from the storefronts that won't make you squint at the menu. Lots of room on the tables and to move around. My family and I love this place... We're sure you'll love it too! The Japanese curry was flavorful with a little kick, and it was nice and thick. Personally, that's exactly how I like Japanese curry, and many other things. The interior is clean, modern, bright, and open, which makes the restaurant feel comfortable and welcoming. Service was just okay. My lunch date wanted a substitution, but there seemed to be some confusion and we ended up being charged for an additional side of potato salad. Normally, no big deal, but nearly $8 for a scoop of potato salad felt pretty steep. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but pricing is definitely on the higher side for what feels like a quick lunch. With tip, we were pushing $75 for two people, which makes it harder to call this a casual lunch spot. Also, street parking around here can be a bit of a challenge during the lunch rush. Good curry and udon, nice atmosphere, but bring your appetite--and your wallet.

We came in the evening after day 2 of Geekfest and it was pretty busy inside. Luckily there was a spot open for two so we were seated and given menus. The inside is a bit dim, there were lots of tables with chairs or booth seats throughout, and there was even bar seating as well. My boyfriend ordered tonkotsu ramen and crunchy salmon roll as well as takoyaki to share while I got their red volcano tonkotsu and a Thai iced tea. I noticed there was a Japanese customer who spoke with one of the waitresses and she spoke Japanese back and it was cool to see and hear that! I wonder if the owners are Japanese as well as it's rare to find actual Japanese owned restaurants. The service here was friendly, courteous and they did check in every so often. The choice of music playing was quiet cafe music which was interesting but it was so hard to hear. My Thai iced tea came first then the takoyaki. Afterwards, our ramen bowls came not too long after that and the sushi roll came in last. I am so happy to say that the takoyaki was the perfect ratio of batter, octopus, and sauces on top. The ramen broth was hearty and smooth. I loved how spicy my red volcano tonkotsu was especially because I love things extremely spicy and it was definitely a fantastic ramen for spicy lovers. My boyfriend said he was very happy with his roll and ramen. He usually doesn't order ramen too often especially on a hot day but he said he was happy he did as it was one of the better ones he's had. My Thai iced tea was the right amount of sweetness and the perfect thing to sip on while handling my spicy ramen. I definitely want to come back to try their other selections.

Looking over the menu, there's a great variety of food (both sushi and non-sushi options)! We started off with the black cod as an appetizer which was buttery and flaky.
