    Beef fresh noodle

The weather's been hot but who cares when the noodles here are even hotter? True to the title, I actually came here solo on a Saturday evening around 6pm to a nearly empty restaurant. There's about 7 tables that sit mostly 2 people per table, and it's very orange inside, literally. Even the exterior walls facing the street are orange, and it's really casual in here. This is on the UW Ave but off a little bit, so expect parking to be hard to find. You order what you want through a kiosk near the front counter, and the servers inside call the number on your receipt once your order is ready. I did hit "dine in" on the kiosk but the system interpreted my order as a "take out" instead so I had to clarify with my server about that before he said my food was ready. I got their beef fresh noodle, which comes with a ton of tender but somewhat hard-to-chew beef, green onions and noodles among other things. I asked my server to also add some spice inside, which is a bunch of Sichuanese pepper bits. By the time I was done eating, I was definitely sweating, and there isn't really an AC in here. The flavor of the soup combined with the spice was really darn good and is better than other beef brisket noodles I've gotten around the Bellevue area! Noodles also pair perfectly with the soup and don't hold an odd flavor profile of its own. Each bowl is around $20 so it's slightly on the more expensive end. Utensils, napkins, water and even take-out containers are self-serve and are located near the front counter. This is a pretty decent place for noodle soups, especially beef noodle soup. I gotta come back here and try their other stuff at another time!

This store is half a block from the main strip but super easy to find. I ordered the beef noodle soup and really enjoyed it! The flavor was excellent and noodles are a perfect al dente. The various meat offered was tender and soft. When you walk in, just order and pay first at the counter and they'll bring the food to you. The service was pretty fast on a Monday evening around 8pm. Comforting music and comforting food! I'll definitely come back to try other dishes!

The raving reviews got me super hyped about this place, yet it didn't live up to the expectation. TLDR okay and relatively authentic Chinese restaurant but not worth going out of your way to visit. We got beef rice noodles, cold rice noodles (V), tofu skin salad (V), and cucumber salad (V). Both salads were delicious, but my beef rice noodles disappointed - small portion and not enough flavor. The beef was not the Chinese marinated beef brisket or beef shank I expected, but closer to regular seasoned beef? Oh, and both the bowl and the chopsticks had a strong smell of dish detergent... Good to know that their bowls were properly cleansed, but the strong detergent scent really turned off my appetite... My partner really enjoyed his cold rice noodles (his bar of Chinese food isn't as high as mine tho fyi), so I may give the cold noodle dishes a try next time. Price was decent for the Seattle area, and service was basically non-existent - you order then pick up the food at the counter, and bus your own table. Acceptable given it's located in a college campus area.

This is a relatively small restaurant(around 20 or so seats). You order your food on a screen and it comes out super fast (I think we waited ~5-10 minutes). Normally I opt for a richer broth instead of a clear one, but the soup broth was very flavorful! They have chili oil and vinegar at the front in case you want to add it, but I thought it was great as is.

Decent Chinese noodle soup spot in the U District. I am always happy to see more Chinese regional representations in the food scene so I am happy they are here! I tried the beef fresh noodles and the broth was good but not the best I have had. The noodles were cooked to my liking but the beef felt a little dry. But otherwise good food!

Solo Noodle stands inconspicuously and lonely off of the Main Street of U-District, but to be honest, it should garner a bit more love and attention. My wife and I ordered beef noodle soup and udon. We were the only ones in the restaurant - something that I am always skeptical about. My skepticism lingered after getting our bowls of noodles. The portions were small, which is a shame given the hefty price. And the first few bites seemed foreign, like something was odd or off. But as I continued to dig into my bowl, I realized that the initial skepticism clouded my judgement. The broth was pretty flavorful, and the meat portions were generous (they were just hiding beneath the surface of the soup). In the end, I devoured my bowl and felt satisfied. My beef noodle soup itch was scratched! In the end, I wouldn't say this was the best beef noodle soup I had in Seattle. And sure, the restaurant looks tame and quiet, with not much to offer. But give it a try - this humble establishment can serve a decent bowl of noodles that will leave you warm and toasty on those cold Seattle nights.

I've never had huainan-style beef noodle soup before, prompting a trip to Solo Noodle over the weekend. As I walked up to the store, I could smell the fragrance of the broth wafting through the door. Promising start already. The "Solo" in Solo Noodle is quite appropriate for the restaurant; basically no human interaction is necessary here. Order at the kiosk, pick food up at the counter, gather utensils, sit down, eat and bus/pack the meal up afterwards. Everything is supplied at the front counter. The food comes out quick as well - only a couple of minutes after ordering, I had my bowl of hot noodles and started digging in. Beef Sweet Potato Noodles ($16.99) - Each sip of the broth starts off with an exceptionally strong beefy flavor, I assume developed by simmering roasted beef bones for hours and hours. The base taste is enhanced by a variety of herbs and spices, making it savory, salty, and delicious. There's a bit of a hot spice right on top that heats the mouth up a bit and gets in the back of the throat. For those who enjoy dishes even spicier, Solo Noodle provides two vats on the front counter filled with chili oil to adjust the dish to preference. Toppings-wise, the dish includes sliced tofu skins that offer a firm rubbery texture, but taste acrid and burnt. That's probably a one off issue that doesn't normally occur. There's plenty of cilantro to boost the fresh herbal qualities, scallion for more fragrance, and a good number of slices of relatively thinly shaved beef. The beef seems to be flash cooked, so it's not enough to break it down, leaving the slices still texturally chewy. There's also two halves of a sliced fish ball, soft and easy to eat. The noodles, in this case sweet potato glass noodles, hold up in texture very well against the broth. They give a nice firm bounciness and don't soften much more in the heat of the broth. The thin broth doesn't stick that well to the noodles, so they probably aren't as flavorful as some of the other noodle choices. Still, they give a lot of noodles, more than enough for a single person. In fact, I'm not sure why one of the other reviewers complains about the portion size. I found it more than adequate for the price - I was only able to eat about half the dish before I had to pack up the rest to take home. Overall Rating: 4/5 Given that the food is pretty good, it's a surprise that more people don't visit, and I'm only the 4th review even though this place has been open for over half a year. I feel like their location, slightly up a hill off University Way, is a bit of a disservice - while I saw other noodle shops on the main street filled with customers, this one only had a handful of people trickle in. Bathrooms - Single very small water closet.

The noodles were pretty good! I got the vegetarian (and also dairy free) cold noodles with tofu. You can add your own chili paste to taste. They prepared everything quickly and according to my order. It was very bright and vibrant decor but I was the only one there mid-afternoon so it was peaceful.

My girlfriend and I decided to stop by for lunch after seeing the cherry blossoms. We shared the beef fresh noodles and it was amazing!! Noodles were nice and al dente and the beef was so tender and the broth was amazing! The shop is small and can get full inside but overall it was nice and quiet. There was 1 person running the kitchen at the time but he was still able to keep up with the orders and ensure we got what we needed. Highly recommend checking them out!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 4.5/5 I was not expecting to love the food nearly as much as I did. The exterior of the restaurant appears so unassuming and I had only ever known the slightly run down boba shop that operated in that building. The broth was extremely flavorful, the noodles bouncy, and the beef was delicious. I also loved the chili oil provided, the spicier option tasting best to me! I wish I could fill a tub up with the chili oil to bring home - I guess I'll just have to come back to eat more!

food: 4.7/5 service: 5/5 ambiance: 4.5/5 with its orange exterior, this place is an unassuming, no frills kind of noodle place. and in the last month that i found out this place exists, i've gone back three times. the place is quiet with not much seating, but there's always one or two people in the restaurant. out of all the noodle places on the ave, this is quite literally the best you're finding in the area. you order online, but that doesn't bother me. last time i went, i saw the owner/staff's son come visit and wave hi, and you know the place is legit when that happens. i've only ordered the beef fresh noodle soup, and it comes with heaping portions of meat, good broth, and an egg to garnish for about $17. my friend ordered the cold noodles last time, and that was also decent, but i'm a simple person, so i'd just order my fresh noodles again. additionally, you can add extra meat for $5, and when all u want is beef, it really hits the spot. i have yet to find a place that generously gives this much beef shank for such a good price. all in all, come here and give the owners some love. absolutely fantastic place. i feel like i'm always hesitant to give full marks, but this place truly deserves it. it might not live up to the greats in california that i've had, but on the ave, this is a true gem that will keep you warm on the freezing cold nights after studying for long hours. truly, my comfort food after i've done poorly on a test.

You order at the kiosk/tablet, pay, get your order number, go get your drinks, find a table. They will call your name or number when your order is ready. We tried the promo Oyako Sando(egg salad and Chicken Katsu together) sandwich. It's a honker of a sando, messy, hope you like mayo, katsu wasn't as crisp as I liked, bread does get a bit soggy at the end, napkins are your friend. We also tried the regular Pork Katsu Sando. Same here, wasn't as crisp as we thought it would be, pork was ok too, pretty classic sandwich. Made these into combos, which comes with a choice of fries and a drink. You get to choose your seasoning on the fries, we got one Nori and Spice style. Combo comes with a fountain drink, or pay a little extra for a bottled drink. FYI: They go heavy on the seasoning for your fries. You get a choice of dipping sauce, we chose their Katsu sauce and the spicy mayo. Another FYI: Spice fries with spicy mayo gets a little heavy in your mouth with the spice. Don't forget to clear your own table when you are done. Prices are about $20/person if you get a combo. Overall, glad we came by to check it out so we know.

This particular location was pretty empty at 1:30pm, though it was a rainy Tuesday. The interior is clean and modern. Parking is hard to come by in the Fremont area, but we were able to find parking near the Fremont Troll. We ordered the Jalapeño Business Warm Bowl and the El Sombrero Salad with chicken. Jalapeño Business (4/5): I liked how unique this bowl was. The use of raw chopped jalapeños gives it a fiery kick, while the Tilllamook white cheddar adds a nutty and salty creaminess with a Pacific Northwest flair. The pickled red onions add the acidity, while the black beans, chicken, and jasmine rice provide the body to make this bowl quite filling. The warm chipotle sauce binds it all together with a smoky chipotle flavor -- but in the menu photos the sauce is a small drizzle over the top, while in my bowl the sauce was doused and inundated everywhere like a biblical flood of chipotle sauce. The bowl was still good, but the photos don't match what you get. El Sombrero Salad with chicken (3/5): This one is actually vegetarian so we added chicken for some protein. This one was pretty mid -- the roasted corn and raw chopped jalapeños were nice touches but the romaine didn't seem like the freshest, and the leaves were too cold like straight out the fridge. Overall, I think Evergreens is a decent choice for salads but Sweetgreen is still my gold standard.

They have so much outdoor seating, on both sides of the cafe, which I really like. Way more than downtown. Food came out super quick too. My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Overall I will come back here, just would like to see some quality changes with the Mr Breakfast as it used to be very good.
