    Spicy Vegetarian Miso Ramen(contains peanuts)

**vegetarian review** This place does no tips and it's a simple menu and process to order which I appreciate. The vegetarian ramen however was average- nothing out of the ordinary or mind blowing. Not bad but somehow didn't feel worth the calories. The cucumber salad was so pretty and so nice!

One of my favorite ramen spots in Seattle! I would recommend the mala ramen at 3 stars for the perfect amount of spice and numbing (though disclaimer, I do have a high spice tolerance). The restaurant is no frills, you order on the tablet and bus your own table. There's street parking only, but usually I'm able to find a spot, though I may need to circle around a couple times. Will definitely be coming back!

We were looking for something warm and comforting on a rainy, cold Saturday evening after attending a concert and decided to try Ooink Ramen in the Wallingford/Fremont area, as it came highly recommended on Eater Seattle. We were not disappointed. We started with two appetizers: Spicy Cucumber and Spicy Ayam Goreng. The Spicy Cucumber was refreshing, with a sesame paste-forward sauce that added a nice touch. The presentation was 5 stars, complete with edible flowers. The Spicy Ayam Goreng (Malaysian spiced chicken), showcasing the owner's Malaysian roots, was a standout. The chicken had a perfect coating of flavorful spices and was fried to perfection--soft and moist on the inside, crispy on the outside. We also ordered two ramens: Mala Kotteri Ramen and Spicy Vegetarian Miso Ramen. The ramens weren't as hot as I would have expected. The vegetarian option was just okay, but the Mala Kotteri was the perfect accompaniment to the Spicy Ayam Goreng and really helped warm us up. It was all self-service, with ordering and paying at the kiosk, taking a number to the next open table, and bussing your own tables. So, the service was minimal but efficient. The ambiance was good, but there's only a single toilet that gets pretty busy. Overall, I'd rate it 5 stars for food, 3 stars for service, and 4 stars for ambiance. Finding parking in the Fremont/Wallingford area is tough, which did dampen the experience a bit.

I recently visited Ooink Ramen in Fremont with the fam. It was a cold Saturday evening around 5:30 pm. I read in Eater Seattle that this is one of the top 9 Ramen places in Seattle. Here is my experience: Parking: Absolute nightmare trying to find street parking. Found a spot far away after 20 min. Not a positive start to my evening but the walk in the cold revved up my appetite for some hot food. We were greeted warmly and asked to put our name on a waitlist. Short wait for a table of 3. Once a table became available, I had us order and pay at the kiosk. Everything is pretty much self serve. We ordered 4 dishes, 2 apps and 2 mains: - The cucumber salad appetizer was a refreshing start, nicely presented and sesame paste forward. Looked nothing like the pic on their website with edible flowers which was kind of deceiving. - Absolutely worth is the spicy ayam goreng appetizer. It stole the show--bold, flavorful chicken cooked to perfection. Crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. I experienced tears of joy which says a lot about the spiciness and heat! - The Mala Kotteri Ramen was another standout with its rich, spicy broth and well-balanced flavors. The black garlic oil really comes through. We ordered a heat level 3 of 4 that hit the spot. The Szechuan peppercorns were all business and the char siu was the comforter. - Unfortunately, the Spicy vegetarian miso ramen didn't hit the mark for my kiddo--it was underwhelming due to its miso based broth as compared to Hokkaido. The service was minimal but good enough. No one came asking how your food was which was kind of disappointing. The facilities were clean though just one restroom. A quick tip: This place does get crowded, so go after 6:30 pm. We did see a few open tables as we were leaving. Besides my challenging parking experience, my other issue was how lukewarm both ramens were. While the quality of food was great, I felt the prices were a bit steep plus the volume of the "real" ingredients in the ramen were subject to shrinkflation. If you're in Fremont and looking for a vibrant ramen spot, I would still say it's worth a visit, especially for that bad ass chicken appetizer.

Really good ramen. I like this place a lot and always come back with pleasure. The flavors are rich, the broth is comforting, and the quality is consistently great. Definitely one of my go-to spots near home.

My partner and I went here for date night because we were craving something warm. I had heard great things about this ramen place from everyone, so we decided to give it a try. We ended up ordering the Ma La and Shoyu ramen. The service was good--you pay at the counter, and they bring the dishes to your table. It's a self-service restaurant, so you get your own water at the counter and bus your own table. The dishes looked and smelled amazing, but the broth was really bland for our taste. I felt like I was drinking an unseasoned broth. I wanted something to salty the broth a bit more but there wasn't anything. Despite that the meat was very char and delicious. There was an egg which was surprising to me, since most places charges extra for. Overall, if you're in the area give it a try and let me know if the broth changed :) Recommendation to owner: I've seen comments mentioning that the broth used to be too salty and is now bland. Maybe consider adding a bit more salt or providing seasoning on the side for customers who prefer a saltier broth.

If you are ever craving ramen, go to Ooink! I am more of a pho or hot pot person, but this ramen I will be coming back for. So flavorful and delicious. I love that they make the noodles fresh, it makes all the difference in the broth! We got: - Ooi Giao - Mata Kuching Negroni - Spicy Ayam Goreng - Mala Kotteri Ramen - Shoyu Ramen I like this location over the Cap Hill one because it is larger and feels more like a restaurant.

Pros: flavorful and yummy food Cons: too flavorful to the point that I'm afraid to consider the level of oil and sodium that goes into the food. I suspect that is not necessarily good for your health. Slightly pricy.

Nut allergy friendly: Ramen I had was fine. Order-to-Ramen: 6 Minutes For some reason, this location wasn't as good as the one in Capitol Hill despite my friend's insistence. He said we went on an off-day. The shio Ramen tasted simultaneously too oily and watery. Portions were still great and service was fast. Maybe it's just because we went on a holiday. It's still overall pretty good.

I've heard positive reviews about Ooink when I moved to Seattle so I was excited to try them out! Located in Wallingford, Ooink doesn't have its own dedicated parking lot, but it was pretty easy to find street parking nearby in the evening! When you walk in you'll notice that the establishment is on the smaller side and you order at their digital kiosk before sitting down. It definitely gives off a cozy vibe to it and you have the choice of sitting at any of their tables or the bar near the kitchen. All of our food came out pretty quickly after we placed our order in the kiosk, but everything is self service so we didn't interact with our server too much. We ended up getting their black garlic ramen and their ayam goreng. I loved how thick and hearty their ramen was, and you could definitely taste the garlic! Their ayam goreng was good but it only comes with two small pieces / one large one to share and I thought it was good but not something I'd personally order again. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Ooink but I will warn you that it is pricey for what you get. I think it's worth checking out at least once though!

Went here around 9 on a Wednesday night and the outside area was pretty filled but only two groups in the inside area. You order through a tablet and then grab a number and they deliver it to your table. The space seems to be really nice with an outside area and lots of tables unaided way roomier than the ooink in cap hill. We ordered a bunch of dishes and decided to share them all. Overall I really liked this spot and I would recommend it to others and I'd go back, I've never had mala ramen before and I liked how fun and diff the flavors were. Shoyu ramen - 6/10. I just thought it was ok, nothing special or different or better than similar ramens I've had in Seattle. Little bland. Mala kotterie ramen - 8/10. So good loved it, had good slight tingle spice flavor. Thought the broth was complex and had a lot to it. Spicy ayam goreng - 5/10. Little too crispy for me but when you got to the meat it was real tender, could def taste the lemongrass?? in some bites but didn't feel like you could taste much Lychee cocktail thing- wasn't mine but I tried it and it was good

Really yummy- I come here every time I am in Seattle. I tried the chicken for the first time and it was delicious ! Portion sizes were huge

The best mala ramen I've had - perfect balance of mala without losing out on what makes a great ramen. I recommend a level 2 if you want the spice without it overpowering the other flavors. We also ordered the ayam goreng and it was freshly fried to perfection with a super crispy outside and juicy inside. It came out in three big pieces that cut to the bone on one side so it was easy to eat. We got a passion fruit soda as well that I think was made in-house and it was delicious. Would've loved a cocktail version of this.

The ramen was incredibly flavorful--rich, comforting, and exactly what you want. Everything tasted fresh and well thought out. I also ordered a draft root beer which was honestly so good and a fun change from the usual. We came with kids and they made the experience extra special. The kids got to pick out a Pokémon card at the bar (huge win), and our waitress went above and beyond--she was so warm and attentive. She even brought the kids Pocky for dessert, which was such a sweet touch. We also ordered the fried chicken--$8 for a huge portion, which is an amazing deal. The dipping sauce was delicious. Personally, I'd prefer the pieces to be a bit smaller, but that's just a minor preference, As well as a real utensils would be nice over plastic. Overall, such a great experience with amazing food, kind service, and thoughtful details. We will definitely be back!

The atmosphere was lively given its shared space within a brewery. The kiosk ordering system was fairly straightforward. The ramen does already include half an egg so only add an additional if you want 1.5 eggs! They also text you once your order is ready. The ramen itself was delicious- the miso bold was rich and flavorful, and not too spicy. The spice really comes through at the end when just the broth remains. My husband enjoyed the classic shoyu ramen and chicken kaarage, although we weren't able to finish the chicken kaarage because the ramen was just so filling. This is going to be my go-to ramen spot in Fremont/Wallingford.
