Bahn Mi filling
Ally P.

This is my favorite Bahn Mi in Seattle! Bread is toasted perfectly, the sandwich filling is delicious (pork is my personal favorite), they put the most delicious sauce on their sandwich and bowls. Staff is always friendly and very efficient, a great place to stop for a quick grab and go. Boba tea is delicious. I have also had their bahn mi bowl which was also very good, large portion, I was able to save it for a second meal. Whenever I am in greenlake this is my go-to.

Mekong (pork) 7.5/10, ~$11-12

Came on a Sunday afternoon, and they are relatively busy. Indoor seating is a little limited in terms of tables, but they have plenty of high table counters. Parking is also a little limited as it's in Greenlake area, but should be able to find some sort of street parking. Mekong (pork) 7.5/10, ~$11-12 - pretty good! Inside is basically just pork, cilantro, and the standard radish/carrot mix - the bread is super crispy while also quite soft, super easy to chew and easy to eat. Not like some of the super hard bread that you occasionally find at banh mi shops - pork flavor is great! You can definitely taste the grilled flavor, and their marinade is quite enjoyable as well - only thing I wish was if the sandwich itself was a little larger. Maybe I'm used to eating huge Banh Mi's at other spots, but I felt that this sandwich that I ate was maybe 75% of the standard sandwich size. Anyways, for a lack of size, it makes up with a great flavor. Most people will probably be full from eating the sandwich. Overall: Mostly reasonable prices in the $11-12 range for a sandwich, but $15-16 range for rice bowls. Meat is super flavorful, bread is crispy yet soft, and overall an enjoyable sandwich. Just wish it were a little bigger.

My sister and I were spending the day at Green Lake, then decided to grab lunch at Toast Mi. There are multiple Toast Mi locations scattered across the western side of Washington, but this was both our first time visiting! Ordering is made simple here. There is a self-ordering kiosk inside. At the time, there wasn't an employee working the register to help with ordering. Fortunately, it wasn't busy for them to need to work the register to get customers helped. My sister ordered the Grilled Chicken Bowl and Peach Fruit Tea. I ordered the Grilled Pork Bowl and Crème Brûlée Vietnamese Coffee. The food and drinks were made pretty quickly. We ate inside the restaurant since there was open seating available. The food and drinks were good. However, I felt like the bowl was lacking a bit of flavor. The bowl is essentially a vermicelli bowl, except we both opted for a salad base. I do want to come back and try a banh mi though!

The imperial special

I am so happy to have found this spot after yoga for lunch. I ordered the thai tea and imperial special which included my choice of 2 meats, which I picked grilled chicken and pork. The bread was perfectly crispy, as well as the cucumber and picked radish and carrots. It all went together perfectly. The thai tea was also awesome. The meat was moist and cooked well. The inside of this location was so clean and it was easy to find. Parking was not nearby but I was fine with a walk. The service is super friendly and they will eventually have a monitor to place orders too.

Such a great spot! I ordered an iced boba tea and it was perfectly balanced -- not too sweet, very refreshing, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. The boba itself was fresh and had the perfect chewy texture (not hard or rubbery like in some places). I also loved the presentation -- the cup design is fun and eye-catching, and everything was served nicely. The drink was super refreshing and hit the spot. Service was fast and friendly, and you can tell the staff cares about what they do. I'll definitely be coming back to try more flavors. Highly recommen

Came in during the afternoon around 4pm, no line. Worker was helpful and service was quick. Ordered the grilled pork sandwich with extra meat and it was delicious--very good crunch to the bread. Would absolutely go again next time i'm in green lake

The Sapa without Pate and Mayo

The fast service meant that I didn't experience much while I was in and out. However, during my brief interactions with the representatives at Toast Mi, I was impressed by their exceptional personalities and people skills. This made me feel connected to the establishment. For my meal, I ordered the Sapa (sautéed tofu) Banh Mi without mayonnaise or any pork or meat. I found the sandwich to be very tasty; the bread was fresh, and all the ingredients were top-notch. Overall, I would rate the taste and freshness of this dish as 4.7 out of 5. It's a great menu option for those who identify as vegan or vegetarian, but just remember to inform the staff about your dietary preferences before ordering. I look forward to returning for the full experience.

After a nice brisk walk in the morning around the lake, my friends and I came here for some boba. Overall, solid tea spot for anyone craving a drink. Things to note: 1. Tea Options: With a wide range of flavors and combinations, definitely recommend trying the: Strawberry Cheesecake, Kumquat & Basil Seeds and Peach tea. All three flavors were refreshing and for me, less sweet option was the perfect amount of sugar I needed for my drink. Didn't get a chance to try the other drinks my friends ordered but were told that it was a tad too sweet on the Taro Oreo and such. 2. Do note if you order no ice, there is an extra charge 3. If you're hungry, there are options to order food like the Viet sandwich banh mi and small things like spring rolls 4. Interior is a little small but definitely a cool spot to hang out with friends or family. 5. For parking, it's only the street

Stopped by on a whim. We were in seattle to get warm after being without power for a couple days in Bellevue. Bellevue does not have good banh mi. This spot has excellent banh mi sandwiches. Staff were friendly and helpful. Love that the sandwiches can be customized. I ordered the Mekong without pate and jalapeños (sharing with the kids). Portions are bigger than youd expect. Overall a great experience and we'll definitely be back when we're in the city again. Even better would be for them to open a location in Bellevue.

Delicious, reliable banh mi and rice bowls place in Greenlake area. I went here for a quick dinner and opted to order a grilled pork banh mi (mekong) through Grubhub for pickup to use my monthly Grubhub credits and it was reliable, but I recommend ordering directly on their website or go in person for lower prices. A banh mi ordering direct is around $10-11 plus tax, so not the cheapest banh mi, but it is okay price. The banh mi has a good amount of crunch without having a lot of crumbs scattered out, and there is a good amount of toppings to show they really pack the ingredients in the banh mi, but expertly put so that barely any ingredients spill around as I eat. They put a generous amount of daikon and they definitely do not skimp on the meat. I was fairly satiated upon finishing my banh mi, and I would definitely order again if I want to crave something quick and affordable.

7. The Imperial City Banh Mi
Keely H.

Really yummy banh mi place! The banh mi had a lot of filling the bread was perfectly soft and toasted. I tried the grilled pork banh mi and the imperial city. I would highly recommend the imperial city since it comes with an egg. Service was good (it's walk up to order) and the interior is spacious and has lots of natural lighting. I also tried the kumquat fruit tea and it was delicious, not too sweet! Great lunch spot in the greenlake area.

11. Grilled Beef Bowl

Good banhmis in a local, centralized area. I often stop by here after finishing a run around the lake. I prefer to get the Mekong (pork banh mi). Bamhmis are ~$10 and rice bowl versions of the sandwiches I think are $12-$13. Only knock on this place would be that they close pretty early (7).

Perfect pit stop for a warm day walking around Greenlake, less than 5 minutes off the lake. Fruit tea is a big yum!! Adjustable sweetness, good jelly. Bahn mi was also pretty good.

Food & drink: (3/5) I've been a loyal lover of the milk cream strawberry since my very first visit, but for some reason it just isn't as good as I remember it being. I would say it's just fine now that I've noticed that they've gotten more watered down. I do enjoy that they still use fresh fruit, but would probably only come back if I was invited by a friend. My partner still really likes his usual which is the mango pomelo sago. I think it's one of their best sellers and is a pretty safe order if you don't know what to get. We didn't get any this time, but I do like their mochi. If you've acquired the taste, the durian mochi is solid. The boba is the perfect chewy texture - not too hard or too soft. I did not try any of their sandwiches (there's so many other yummy options near by!) but it seems like they were selling at a decent clip. If I had to identify a weakness, it would be that a lot of times it seems like they have supply chain issues. They did not have lactose-free milk when I visited the past few times. I ultimately ordered an OG milk tea with honey boba (I was also excited to learn that they use nondairy creamer in their milk teas! I've noticed many other establishments in the area do not). It was delicious! It is more tea-forward and tastes like an earl grey. The boba pearls are perfectly chewy as well. My only critique is that they should add a 30% sweetness option to their sugar adjustments. Otherwise, it was perfect! My new boba spot for sure!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #107…read more I've visited the BobaLust in Lynnwood before and was not impressed. I decided to give them another try, this time at the U District location. Bobalust opens up pretty late for a boba shop - most places start at noon or earlier, but for some reason BobaLust opens at 1PM. This particular location is depressingly dark inside with black painted walls and dark decor. That's a really interesting aesthetic choice (and not my favorite). OG Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, 50% Ice w/ Honey Boba ($6.50) - This tea has a strange harsh artificial taste. It's cloyingly sweet and tastes of a very overwhelming kind of flowery and fruity flavor. It doesn't seem to be from the tea and instead may be from either creamer or sweetener. It's overpowering, making the drink very difficult to sip on for my tastes. On top of this strange flavor is a heavy non dairy creamer aroma. It's added in such high quantities that the drink is thickened to almost a cream-like consistency, and has a slight bit of grittiness on the tongue. Even at 50% ice, there's a ton of ice in this drink. After drinking a bit, I went home and added in around 6 ounces of English Breakfast tea and it tempered things down enough to be pleasant. The boba isn't great either. They claim it's honey boba but while the pearls are very heavily sweetened in marinade, I can't detect any honey aroma whatsoever. The texture of the pearls are firm and almost gummy rather than being soft, chewy, and bouncy. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 I'm still not impressed with this chain. There are way better options in the area for basic milk tea and boba. BobaLust remains in my bottom five boba shops in the Greater Seattle Area out of approximately 100 shops. Bathrooms - One mixed gender bathroom with two stalls.

He apologized but he should have been more concerned in my opinion as I almost choked on that piece in my drink. I never visit this shop often because of their terrible weekday hours but now after my latest bad experience I'm just not returning at all. Not worth it.
