10/10 I've had this one on my list for a while and it did not disappoint! Vibes were high right away. The vibe of the interior is so cool and full of personality. It was hard to choose between the sandwiches, I ended up picking Panama red and my boyfriend got the Apollo 13. The Panama red was so saucy and full of garlic flavors with the garlic herb bread. It was warm and you could tell fresh out of the oven. The Apollo 13 was very fresh and had delicious crunchy veggies. I LOVED that they have Pepsi and cherry Pepsi on the fountain drinks. The carbonation factor is often overlooked at other restaurants but not here! The sodas were carbonated to perfection and perfect for cotton mouth. I will definitely be returning to try more of the sandwiches :) oh! And grabbed a krispy fruity pebble bar to go, very yummy!

Very tasty sandwiches! Mine maybe had a little too much sauce on it but other than that it was perfect. I appreciated how they were able to customize to accommodate my dietary restrictions too. They were well packaged and made quickly. The dinning area is kinda fun too! Lots of murals and colors and places to sit. There's also a bar area.

I had bookmarked Cheba Hut Toasted Subs for awhile. Finally had the opportunity to pickup a takeout order from the site in Seattle's University District on The Ave (12/6/24). Ordering online is pretty straightforward selecting from a variety of customizable toasted sammies available in 4 (nug) 8 (pinner), and 12 (blunt) inch sizes. Pickup time was also pre determined...I selected 30 minutes (vs asap) due to traffic and parking coming from Shoreline. There are also sides, treats, and bevs available for purchase. Vast onsite dining area, but this first visit was takeout. The two monstrous 12 inch sized "blunts" included: The Dank (Pizza) with pepperoni, salami, melty double provolone cheese, marinara, and shake, with garlic herb bread, plus added onion and extra salami ($22.29). The Canna (Italian) with all the meats (ham, salami, proscuitto), veg (lettuce, onion, tomsto, pickle), provolone cheese, shake & house dressing, also on garlic herb bread, without black olives and extra roast beef ($23.04). The Dank was taken down in one sitting by The Homie. The Canna took me three eating opportunities. Definitely ginormous and easily shareable. Impressive Italian toasted sub! With tax & tip, the total was nearly $57. Make sure to sign up for their customer rewards program. This purchase earned a 4 inch freebie already.

CHEBA HUT!!! Food was BUSSIN. Vibes were there. Service was fast. Was surprised not to see as many people there. Didn't realize they were a famous chain LOL. Funny funny memes scattered around. Would go back for a trivia night.

Heard a lot of good things, so ordered for delivery. Got a 4" Italian, spicy club, and meatball. I've gotta be honest, I'm not really sure what all the fuss is about. I wasn't hungry anymore after I ate them, so I guess they get the job done, but they were surprisingly flavorless. I literally could not tell the difference between the Italian and the spicy club - they tasted exactly the same to me. The meatballs did have some flavor, but not one I was a fan of, unfortunately. The whole "stoner" schtick is cute, but I don't smoke pot, so maybe that's the missing ingredient? I dunno. If I was starving and someone put one of these sandwiches in front of me I'm sure I'd eat it, but it's not anything I'd go out of my way for.

We ordered delivery from door dash when we tried Cheba Hut. I ordered their sandwich called The Kind, which came with turkey, bacon and mushrooms as the base. I thought the sandwich was good. My husband ordered the KGB sandwich which was roast beef with horseradish. He enjoyed his sandwich too. Overall, if you want a better subway, then this would be the place.

My first time at this location. Definitely worth it. The food and staff were amazing. I love the vibes of this location. Office meme. Love it. Let's support our local businesses. Thank you once again.

Bangin sando - 10/10 deducting a star cause they were out of turkey, chicken, and peppers so it really limited our options. What we got was perfectionnn tho will be returning! Nice staff!

I haven't even taken a bite into my sandwich yet, but this looks absolutely incredible. There's also a bar which is amazing. I didn't realize they would have this and the atmosphere had good music not too loud not too quiet. Also great employees.

White Widow (Chicken, Bacon & Ranch)

Was just ok. Have been to other locations in phoenix and Denver and they seemed much better. The service was still good, clean enough and the workers were all friendly, but the sandwiched itself just wasn't as great as I remembered it being elsewhere. Still would probably stop by again if I was in the area, but wouldn't go out of the way for it.

On of my favorite small chains, I'm an absolute sandwich slut and love what they have to offer. I've visited quite a few of there locations at this point but this one stood out because of Cal! What a great ambassador for cheba, guy provided great service and was very cool to hear his cheba story. Give that guy a raise!

Their subs were SO good, the bread was nicely toasted with fresh toppings. I got a turkey California something. The people who work at the University district are always really nice and quick to bring out our food. The Koolaid is a nice touch lol

Took almost an hour to get seated, but we were able to grab some drinks from the coffee shop on the first floor of the hotel, which was a nice option. Once we got upstairs it was gorgeous! Lots of great seating options both inside and out. The views of downtown Seattle and Bellevue were EPIC. The staff were very friendly as well! I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest. Finally the pretzel bites were okay, but nothing I couldn't get at another gastropub for a much lower price. The drinks were fine, but not that strong. I ordered the Glacier Peak which was beautiful and refreshing. We'll be back for the views and maybe a couple of cocktails, but I'd say if you're bar hopping, spend money on food somewhere else in the area.

The staff seemed distracted, but they at least did not appear to be cranky or hostile. The karaoke selection was lacking, and as a queer man I was uncomfortable seeing that all David Bowie songs were pointedly crossed out in the books. Reviews had suggested that the Monkey Pub, despite being located in the U District, had a clientele of more than just college students; this may be true on non-karaoke nights, but when I went, it had the same college-kid crowd as anywhere else in the neighborhood. Drink selection was average. Indeed, the bar itself was largely average. I found no evidence of anything particularly dramatically terrible on my visit to the Monkey Pub, but nothing to get excited about either. Only worth it for karaoke if you're desperate. Probably an okay place to get a drink, but I didn't really detect much of the character and "local flavor" that usually makes a good dive bar worth the trip.

They have so much outdoor seating, on both sides of the cafe, which I really like. Way more than downtown. Food came out super quick too. My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Overall I will come back here, just would like to see some quality changes with the Mr Breakfast as it used to be very good.

However the BLT I ordered looked like they threw all the ingredients on the toast with no real prep. The tomato jam was not jam but pieces huge chunks too big to eat. While I'm glad they aren't skimping on the ingredients it was piled so high that it was challenging to eat. I ended up eating it in pieces with my fork and as such lost the tastiness of a combination of the flavors as it quickly became a deconstructed mess. Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. If you are ever in the area and have a skill you would love to share, go share your art. Find your copy of Purple Rose at JamesVThePoet.com

I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.

For some of us, those dry, funky Belgians are where your palate finds home after trying every beer style. Only some of us, though. They can be hard to sell after a while, especially these days. So now the lineup here runs to lots of gorgeous, refreshing lagers, some explosively-flavorful hoppy stuff, and the occasional big chewy high-abv ale. For a saison whore like me, this is kinda like learning Michelangelo doesn't paint anymore, he just gets down with sculpture now. Not a tragedy by any means, but we still feel the absence. But why are saisons not the huge seller that IPAs are? Well, in part, 'cause old heads like me cut out beer. I did, anyway. I came out of retirement yesterday afternoon to try Nick's beers 'cause they had a Washington Cheese release event at the brewery yesterday. (Can't wait to try those, by the way). I checked out a landbier, german pils, west coast pils, and a hazy IPA. All wonderful, refreshing, and without flaw. We had a couple other beers at the table, along with a seltzer and wine. There's nothing here I wouldn't have again. The space is a good size--seating here, bar back there, brewhouse off to one side, more seating up the ramp in back. They had the Olympics on the flat screens and projector. There are board games and cards near the bar, and shuffleboard upstairs. This was another brewery before, and that brewery put in the shuffleboard table and at least some of the brew equipment. You can still see the name of the old brewery here and there. L&L is an even better source of beer IMO. Somewhat infamously, this space was also a funky dive bar and a, uh, gentleman's club in decades gone by. No trace of either of them remain. The folks who run this place are friendly and fun, and there aren't too many places making beer this good. They even have a great knack for designing cool labels (all done in house!). Highly recommended.

The Bun Cha Ca La Vong - the vermicelli bowl with Washington coast rockfish and imperial rolls. The rockfish is tender and savory. And Ba Bars imperial rolls are some of the best in the city. At least one of us and often both of us get this every time we go. It's that good. Occasionally we'll also get the lemongrass chicken which is also very good. We enjoy these dishes so much we've never tried the Pho or soup noodles. The staff is always friendly.

I wanted to order Bun cha ca la vong but they ran out, so I got bun cha Ha Noi instead. I liked how the meat was grilled on charcoal cuz I could see the slightly dark crust on the outside, that's what made it authentic! I didn't really like the pork ball that inside the nuoc cham tho! It had some strange taste to it that I was not familiar with, and I wish the texture was a bit more firm! Overall, it was a good dinner and the service was fast! My drink was good too and the interiors was nice! I saw there is a "Quay Banh Cuon", I got hyped for a second thinking it was a real banh cuon bar but it was just for decoration lol! We will definitely come back!

Always consistent, great service and waited less than 10 minutes for a table. Service was great with my 8-year old recommended a kids burger instead of the full price adult version. So nice! I always get the fish tacos with fries and am never disappointed. We go to all the Joey locations - Southcenter, Bellevue, UV and we always get a consistent and good meal.

Nice that they have regular test, low test and no test drinks depending on how much alcohol you want. Food was very tasty, we had the lobster pasta and the fajitas. The tortillas were very flimsy so messy but still nice flavor and good amount of food.. started with the hummus which is what I was told to try there and yes a creative hummus plate... which brings me to the only hiccup... The chef gets creative at times and apparently edamame is in season so randomly added to the hummus even though not on the menu. Found out half way through then had to verify what beans they were and couldn't eat rest of dish. Server was awesome about it and wasn't a problem but if you have any allergies be aware the menu MAY not be exact so make sure you ask if there are any "enhancements" if you have any known issues. Overall highly recommend.
