Time Bistro is a local favorite in the heart of the U District. It's a casual and cozy space perfect for a quick and simple meal. The service is consistently fast and friendly, even when it gets busy with students. They have a full display of vegan and vegetarian options that mirrors their regular offerings. Some locals told me the Banh Mi sandwiches are easily one of the best in Seattle and I was disappointed that I didn't get to try one myself. We wound trying this Bbq fried rice dish and a sampler of their most popular appetizers. Definitely a neighborhood gem for quality Vietnamese comfort food at a fair price.

Rare steak pho before doctoring. ...And a glass of Chardonnay.

The food was packed full of flavor! Great portion for price. Service was fast and quite pleasurable. It's a small spot yet accommodates many tables. The bathroom was very clean and smelled nice. Great leftover as well. Air fryer for the reheat win.

Needed food and found this spot. Walking inside you see tables and the register in front. They have a QR Code menu or a regular menu. I ordered the Beef Short Rib Plate, Garlic Butter Wings & Strawberry Lemonade . Beef Short Ribs were good....Garlic Butter Wings were good....Strawberry Lemonade was good. If you're in the area swing by and check this place out.

A little hole in the wall in udistrict. The food was good. Service was nice and fast. I would come back.

I ordered a beef banh mi sandwich and it was the best beef banh mi I've had! Beef banh mi from other restaurants I've been to are not as delicious as Time Bistro's. The amount of fillings gave a balance profile and the French bread wasn't too big, thick or overly toasted-- it doesn't hurt the roof of my mouth. It still had a good crunch though! The service was quick, thorough, and friendly. I'm definitely coming back to try other items on the menu.

My favorite spot to get pho in U District! Service is always fast here and the flavors hit the spot for me. My friends and I always come here after a long day of classes or on a rainy day when we're craving soup. We love ordering the crab delights from here!

Solid vietnamese place on the ave! The menu has so many options and I definitely want to come back to try more things. Got the pork skewer vermicelli and it tasted pretty good and good portion size. Also tried the flan and loved the texture and flavor. The food came out pretty quickly as well

Great food and a nice spot to check out if you're in the U-district area! It's a casual little spot with tables inside. Service is friendly and it was nice because they did split checks for us. They have a vegetarian menu which is separate from their regular menu and my friend with some dietary restrictions really appreciated this! Lots of options for vegans as well. I got their combo noodle bowl which included pork skewers and an egg roll over noodles and salad. Very refreshing and well balanced. The meat was tender and very flavorful. The sauce could have been a little more tangy but still pretty solid.

As of right now, I thought this was alright for Vietnamese food but, I do think that it is a good convenient place for UW students since its place on the Ave. The inside was kinda small, and the staff was really nice and welcoming. Anyway going onto the food, maybe I had ordered the wrong thing because I felt like I wasn't getting my money's worth with the vermicelli bowl (portion size). I was there with my friends and I thought the pho seemed more worth it and good. Then lastly I also tried the tofu appetizers but I thought they were ok too. But I will come back to try other things!

Solid place for good pho and banh mi on the ave. Restaurant is small and cozy and the people there are very nice. They have a lot of TVs to keep you entertained too.

Vegan Pork Banh Mi

This place is FANTASTIC for vegetarians and vegans. They have a whole veggie menu with veggie or vegan versions of just about everything and more than one protein choice or option too. I would come back just for that but the Thai tea, bahn mi, and egg rolls were tasty so I also liked that. I'd love to come back and try the soup. Service was good and ambiance was nice. It looks kind of unassuming from outside and the sign is smaller and up high so you could almost miss it but inside is nicely furnished and clean (not always what I come to expect from restaurants in this area as it's so close to UW). I'd definitely come back and recommend to veggie, vegan, or meat-eating folks.

From that first dish, we knew that this fresh, foraged menu was going to be something different. The rest of the night was one knockout showcase of seasonal farm to table masterpieces to the next. The entire presentation was delivered by attentive wait staff putting on what felt more like a well-rehearsed play with each act starting with a wickedly creative, hand-crafted drink pairing (non alcoholic for us, but you can get wine, cider, or a cocktail) before each course. The whole vibe isn't pretentious or bourgeois; it's grateful. Everyone there including the chefs know there isn't anything like this in the city, much less the state. It was one of the more pleasant restaurant guest audiences I've ever been around too. It felt like all the nice people in the city decided to meet, so this 5-star review is for our fellow diners too. The only thing missing was a moment for the chefs to take a bow at the end, but instead they sneaked out the door, off to wherever superfoodie heroes go after a night of saving palates. #salute.

Also the place feels super authentic, cozy, warm, not trying too hard, just real. And the owner was hilarious, so witty, and made the whole experience feel extra special. You can tell he cares and it shows. Now the saddest part: I just found out this restaurant has been around for decades and is closing forever soon. Truly heartbreaking! It definitely piqued my interest and was duly bookmarked. I had an opportunity to check it out with fellow Yelp Elite/IGer, Carol C (3/18/26). I was able to get a last minute reservation confirmed via email. Both of us were able to get zoned street parking along N 45th. This restaurant is also accessible via Metro. We were seated by Tim, the owner, at a two top by the front entrance. He was very welcoming, personable, and charming. An aside, read the background info about how the restaurant came to be from their website and additional cool details about the owner, restaurateur, and author. The interior transformation was pleasant vibe. There were other tables aligned along one wall. The remaining seating were along a banquette. There's also limited seating at the bar towards the back. Great ambiance, however, it does get rather loud once the restaurant fills up, just saying. Wine, of course, is available by the glass or bottle. There are other beverages like beer and NA choices, but no tea/coffee service. Happy hour specials are also available. Tim provided us the low down on the featured daily specials and gave us enough time to peruse the menu. It's one of those menus that had so many pleasing options. We split the Piatto Misto which was a great way to sample various app offerings including fresh burrata, an Italian meatball, sliced prosciutto & other Italian meats, and two bruschettas - tomato and mushroom. We both agreed that the meatball was the standout. Carol chose the Pasta del Giorno which featured farfalle with mushrooms, broccolini, in a cream sauce with added Italian sausage. I selected the Pasta Salsiccia which had linguine with Italian sausage, mushrooms, red pepper flakes, in a tomato cream sauce. Both pasta mains were rich and generous, that the both of us took home halves of our respective entrees to save room for dessert. For dessert, I went with my fave tiramisu and Carol had the chocolate mousse. Tiramisu was delicious that I cleaned out my serving glass. It was definitely an enjoyable experience and were onsite for nearly 2.5 hours. Well attended to and not rushed. With how costly it can get dining out in Seattle, it's a great to find a place that is easy going, has great variety, and reasonably priced. Recommended for an approachable, quality dining experience. Grazie mille, Tim!

The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived which was so surprising because it had such a cute aesthetic and the food was absolutely delicious. We were both super hungry so we skipped appetisers and went straight for the pasta and it didn't disappoint. The Tonnarelli was what both of us were eyeing and it delivered in every way, from the freshness of the tomato to the perfect consistency of the sauce. We also decided to be adventurous and try the Ricotta Gnocchi despite the fact that both of us are not huge fans of ricotta, me especially. I loved the base of the paste and the flavours were great, I think I just got bored of the dense texture of the ricotta after the first few bites. Our server was super friendly and recommended me an incredible white wine to go with dinner that really cut the acidity of the pasta. Similarly, we paid $23 for a seared tombo and were given four thin slices of meat. I feel slightly robbed paying about $80 and leaving quite hungry. The food was good, but by no means would I argue this is worth going out of your way for.

Luckily there weren't that many people inside at the time we went, so we were able to get a table no problem. You order your food at the register first and then sit down where the food is brought to you. The person at the register was patient and helpful, answering questions as they came up. I thought that there were so many good options on their menu but I finally decided to go with an Asada Quesadilla with an additional side of rice and beans. I felt like we didn't have to wait too long for the food, which is always a plus. The quesadilla was cooked well, not being burnt and also not being too soft at the same time. There was a tasteful amount of cheese that didn't overwhelm like I sometimes feel some places do with their quesadillas. The portions were also good and satisfying. One thing is that I wish the rice and beans were included with more of their options as I saw that barely any (if at all) came with them which I feel like is a staple in most Mexican food restaurants. This caused the total price for my meal to be a bit higher than I would have liked. All in all, a decent place to try out if you're in this area.
