Hands down the best pho restaurant I've been to in a long while! Market Pho in Ballard has a great location near transit and other shops, and finding parking is easy. The pho itself is exceptional, and the staff took time to guide me through the menu and help me choose the perfect dish. What really sets this place apart is the customer service. After landing from a long flight dealing with travel delays from government shutdowns, I arrived pretty frazzled. Andy went above and beyond by kindly letting me charge my phone while I enjoyed my meal. That kind of thoughtfulness makes all the difference. They also have TVs for watching sports games, making it a great spot whether you're dining solo or with friends. In addition, I overheard an homeless guy ask Andy for a cup of broth because he was hungry, without second thought Andy fed him. By all means, give this place a try you will not be disappointed!

Really tasty food and reasonable prices, especially for Ballard. I would definitely return!

So happy there's a good Vietnamese restaurant in Ballard! Thanh Brothers is gone and now it's Market Pho and I'm glad about that. I never ate at Thanh Brothers because I generally don't eat pho. I know, I know, don't yell at me. I just don't eat soup much. I'm a dry food kind of person. So I was thrilled when Market Pho appeared and I saw that their menu included dry dishes along with the pho! I enjoyed my lunch of rolls: fresh rolls with tofu and peanut sauce and an order of super crispy pork egg rolls. My hubs devoured his chicken banh mi that came with a hot toasted baguette. It crunched when he bit into it! The vibe felt very casual and family friendly. Really liked that there were several Vietnamese families in there having lunch and chatting with what I think may have been the owner. Service was friendly, thoughtful, and fast. Overall, Market Pho was a great place for a good meal in downtown Ballard. We look forward to going back and trying more of their dishes!

The service was great and the food was excellent. My vegetarian pho was delicious and well seasoned, which is rare for veggie broths. I will absolutely be back here! It smelled amazing when we walked in so I knew we made the right choice. It was maybe a little chilly by the window but the pho warmed me up and they have multiple sizes which is nice.

The moment you walk in, the whole staff greets you with a smile. The noodles were on the overcooked side but i still liked the pho overall. Great broth and flavor. I would definitely go there again. Oh their bahn mi was great. I think i liked it even more than the pho.

We also tried the Special Prime Rib Dry Noodles, and the meat was incredibly tender--it practically fell off the bone. Everything was reasonably priced, especially compared to another noodle restaurant we had considered. The passion fruit tea was also delicious and was the perfect complement to the spicy noodles. It quenched our thirst and helped cool down the heat. We also ordered the scallion pancakes, which were good, although I wish there had been a little more scallion. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. Overall, a great spot for noodles with generous portions, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Since my last review the restaurant has closed and reopened, and expanded their menu, to now include more dumplings and varieties of noodles. They also now have a very handy duo of ordering kiosks, which you order at prior to sitting down. I found their kiosks easy to use, which isn't always a given. This being my first visit back in a while, I had to get the spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles. However I had to try some dumplings, so we shared the lamb dumplings, while my dinner buddy had the spicy cumin lamb rice noodle soup (the same kind of noodles you'd get at a ten second yunnan noodle type of place). They also now have a complimentary side dish bar that has seaweed salad, peanuts, and kimci, as well as some condiment type things like scallions and minced garlic. I helped myself to some seaweed salad to nibble on while waiting for our food, and it was good although food comes out quickly enough that you don't necessarily have to rely on it unless you're really chomping at the bit. The spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles are just as good as I remember. The biang biang noodles here are perfectly chewy, and the rest of the dish has a lovely flavor aside from just spice. They're generous with lamb and cabbage which add a lot of textural variety to the plate. The lamb dumplings were the sleeper hit of the meal, filled with juicy, tender hunks of lamb surrounded by toothsome clearly hand-rolled wrappers. Absolutely do not skip the lamb dumplings. My dinner buddy really enjoyed her rice noodle soup with spicy cumin lamb, which I think would be a great option on a cold day. Everything is pretty much self serve here, so don't expect full service -- although they did stop by to refill our water once. The food here is so good, though, and prices are so reasonable, that I truly do not care that the experience is pretty bare bones otherwise.

This seems to be an ongoing theme of Japanese food places in the U.S. - the portion sizes of this place is insane. It felt like a basin of soup and the outside table we sat at could barely hold our two bowls plus the salad we ordered. At the counter I ordered the "Tomato Niku-Tama" and poured some water from the self-serve station. The soup base was good and the udon was ok. I wish the noodles had a bit more chew and bounce to it, it felt like my noodles were slightly well done. Appreciated that if you dine in, the udon was served with a complimentary chawan-mushi, pickled cabbage, ginger, & Azuki jelly. The udon bowl was enough food but the sides were a great addition. Staff seem to hear exclamation of the size often and pleasantly giggled at our reactions and of the other patrons. Udon depending on the bowl ranges from $21-$25 each. Eventually will come back to try the other dishes on the menu, very reminiscent of the childhood meals my Dad would make.

The flavor profile is a mix of Indian and Asian so if you like that type of food, you will definitely love the different taste of food at this restaurant. The quantity was appreciable, one dish is enough for two people to share, which I really appreciate in this market as a lot of other vendors are decreasing the quantity of food. It came with cucumbers and fried peanuts, both which added another taste element to the dish. We also had the coconut curry noodles, also delicious and would be even more amazing on a rainy day. We got both with tofu and vegetarian options. However, I am confident that with chicken or prawns it would be equally if not more delicious. We came back another time on a weekday, still a big line, but a bit shorter. We waited about 45 mins before our turn came. Ordered: 1) Classic Ramen (Regular, Mild, Thick noodles): I wanted to share with my 5 year old. I felt the broth could have been thicker. It was a bit light and not very filling for me, compared to other ramen places I have been to back in California. The flavor was definitely good though. Apparently there was some mix-up, because I felt they gave us medium spicy, my husband's ramen (medium spicy) and ours tasted exactly the same. It ended up being too spicy for my kid. She hardly ate any noodles, complaining it was spicy even after I separated them from the broth. I didn't complain to the restaurant since they were super busy that day, and honestly it was almost 10PM and we were starving and out of patience. 2) Classic Ramen (Regular, Medium Spicy, Thick noodles) 3) Vegan Gyoza: This was good. My 5 year old finished it all. 4) Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream: We loved it. We got 2 pieces in one order and savored every bite. The restaurant had limited seating and had typical ramen place vibes. The servers weren't very attentive; we kept trying to find someone who could help us at multiple instances. They seemed super busy and short-staffed. So not a great experience in terms of service, but for the food I would give a solid 4/5.

This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much. There are so many other items on the menu that I'm eager to try, so I will definitely be back.

I felt like the rice was a bit lacking in flavor, and they only have the standard soy sauce, not the ones in a sauce tray that is usually a bit sweeter. The salt and pepper fried fish filet was good - definitely recommend that for the taste and value. The noodle soup was also good - the wontons were okay but I loved the beef brisket.
