Mostly great Thai and Vietnamese place! It used to be my pre-finals ritual! Food is decent, only thing I would say is the spice level is a bit low for what you'd expect. But order it spicier thank you think and it will be good! Portion sizes are generous so a great place to stop if hungry. Sometimes it gets busy, so avoid peak hours! It's got a nice chill ambiance so a great place to enjoy the food!

Casual, quick, delicious. Came here with a friend around lunchtime the other day and were quickly sat, but the restaurant filled up to the brim and there was a line out the door by the time we left. It's popular, and for good reason! Food: Great portions and I love that they include rice with the noodle dishes. It seems like they have Thai/Vietnamese fusion food, and it's delicious. The Pad See Ew had a good amount of chicken and broccoli, and was balanced out with the fresh white rice. A lot of people in the restaurant were enjoying big bowls of pho, and they have banh mis for less than 10! I definitely want to go back and try some next time. Ambiance: Casual dining, standard Asian restaurant vibes. Cozy! Service: Quick and efficient, absolutely no complaints here. Overall, can't wait to come back. Delicious food and I want to try everything on the menu!

The most budget-friendly and affordable restaurant I've been to in U District! The Bahn Ami was honestly a solid 3.5/5 stars and at $8 I really did not expect that. I think I'll be back to try other dishes because wow at this price and volume of food, it's pretty reasonable!

I had the chicken Phad See Ew ($13.00) and my friend got the chicken Phad Thai ($13.00), both were relatively tasty but didn't necessarily stand out to other Thai joints. It is a relatively quick walk from the University of Washington campus and a great place to have lunch. I'm very surprised with how cheap the food is for being a sit-down restaurant, so that is definitely a plus. The ambiance and environment of the restaurant were generally inviting and cozy. The service was fine, I enjoyed that they gave us time to keep to ourselves. Overall, if you're in the area and looking to try either some Vietnamese or Thai food for cheap, definitely visit, especially for a broke college student.

Bahn mi sandwich is so good! They make them fresh and it seems that they sell out for the day pretty quickly. Super quick and friendly service.

Despite the restaurant name change, this restaurant still has the same menu selection as it did when it started as Spring Kitchen. However, this restaurant has finally upgraded its menus from paper takeout menus to plastic laminated menus. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and 4 stars spiciness to-go. Service was prompt and I was out the door within 15 minutes with my food. The pad see ew noodles were very tasty and came with green beans, carrots, broccoli, and a side of white rice. The portion was generous, but not enough for leftovers. The noodles were also the perfect consistency and not too sweet. However, as I noted before with my prior experience here, the 4 stars spiciness level here is extremely mild. It's like they don't even put any chili paste in it. I had to add my own Korean chili sauce when I got home. While Basil might not be the best Thai food in U-District, it is convenient, especially for those heading toward west campus or to the bus stop outside of the DM. 4/5 for service and 4/5 for food

Basil Kitchen has always been my go to especially since it's close to the dorms and their service is done in a timely and fast manner. I really like the chill vibe when entering the resturant and of course their pho is good in my taste.

    Seating

Great Vietnamese food and great service. Very solo-dining friendly! Definitely coming back. :)

They have locations both in Downtown Seattle and Greenlake, but I have only been to their Downtown Seattle location which has a beautiful view of the Puget Sound. The atmosphere is dark, trendy, and modern- perfect for a date night or nice evening out. While they are a white table cloth, sit-down restaurant, you can dress casually or dress up a bit - both are completely acceptable. This most recent visit I ordered the COCONUT PANANG CURRY with chicken ($25.95) and my friend ordered her favorite dish, SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE ($28.95). On a past visit, I've had their CLAY POT SHRIMP & GLASS NOODLES (KOONG OB WOONSEN) ($27.95) which was absolutely fantastic and has had me hooked on Pad Woonsen ever since! I saw the COCONUT PANANG CURRY recently in my Instagram feed and knew I had to get it. It is served in a whole coconut (yes a real, fresh coconut!) and comes with a champagne flute of fresh coconut juice from the coconut they hollowed out and a side of Jasmine rice. The curry was rich, flavorful, and full of Thai basil and peppers. The coconut juice was light and refreshing and a great contrast to the thick curry. The SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE (which I've sampled before), is gigantic, aromatic, and served with a giant grilled garlic butter fillet of salmon on top. The salmon is extremely moist, oily, and bursting with flavor. The rice is fragrant and has garlic paste, red bell pepper, carrots, and green onion. If you're looking for a tasty and protein-packed meal, this is the dish! Parking is honestly tough in this area as it's located on 1st. They have limited street parking and a few paid parking garage options around. I recommend light railing or Ubering here if you're not already in the downtown Seattle area. Service is always great and we always get our food quickly, no matter how crowded they are. The staff also take the time to check up on your table during your meal. Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

Even though I really wanted to love this place, this place was definitely overhyped; I'd say it's about the same level as A Ma's, which I also didn't enjoy. It might be because the place has gone super viral as we ended up waiting 80 minutes on a Saturday night, so quality control might be more difficult at this point. Tip: the iPad will say the wait is 30 minutes, do not trust the iPad. Hainan Chicken was tasteless and overcooked. The texture was way too chewy and was my least favorite preparation of the night. Gai Tod (fried) was better with a crispy outside, but still a tad overcooked. Gai Yang (grilled) was definitely the best version of chicken and is solid enough if you live nearby, but definitely not driving out of your way or waiting for. Rice wasn't super fluffy and I just prefer garlic rice over ginger. The chicken stock is probably the best part of the rice plates. Upside is the joint is definitely family owned and they do their best to provide good service in spite of the chaos. They'll take your order before you get seated, so the food comes out fast and are generally very sweet when checking in.

Vibe - When I walked in, it felt like I was in a nighttime district on the streets of Thailand, eating and drinking whatever they had available. The vibe was that of a dark ambiance, with neon lights shining throughout the restaurant. Hospitality - The front-of-house staff was well-mannered and courteous, and they seated us quickly on a Monday night at 8:00 PM. It was a relatively busy night. However, we ordered fairly quickly, and the food came out within 10 to 15 minutes. Food - Food-wise, we ordered the Fried Papaya, Crispy Fried Rice, Khao Soi, Tom Yum, and Crispy Pork Belly Fried Rice. Gosh, I have to say, I was blown away by the flavors and the portion sizes! Typically, four dishes can serve three people, but I felt like these could have served five. The fried papaya salad was lightly battered with a typical papaya salad dipping sauce featuring a base of fish sauce, green beans, tomatoes, and chilies. It was good. The crispy fried rice was served with lettuce wraps, and OMG, I kid you not when I tell you this is some of the crispiest rice I've ever had. It's hard to find, but when you do, you can't wait to take another bite. I thought the khao soi overall was not bad. I enjoyed that they put the fried noodles on top so that you can mix them into the curry when it's brought out. Lastly, the pork belly was well-cooked with a crispy, crunchy exterior, and served with delicious Thai-flavored fried rice! Drinks - We ordered the Thai lemon iced tea and the Thai tea cremosa. Both tasted good. Overall, I was very satisfied with this place, and if I lived here, I could see myself grabbing some late-night bites with the homies.
