After being vegetarian for over five years now, I've watched sadly time after time as my family enjoyed their pho and meat skewers. Even when I order vegetable pho in Michigan, it's just not the same. While visiting Seattle, I was craving for Vietnamese food. As I scrolled through Yelp, I found Time Bistro. I was super surprised (and extremely excited) to see that they had a separate menu for vegetarians/vegans. I ordered the combo vegetarian pho and just a side of the vegan pork skewer. Upon arriving, the lady at the front desk was super kind! I told her I wasn't from around here and so she went over the menu a bit. She actually let me know that there was an appetizer dish for the pork skewers and said I would definitely be back to order it. She was definitely right. After trying the vegan pork skewers, I did a double take! It tasted so much like the real pork skewers. The veggie combo pho was delicious and flavorful. I ordered the small and the portion size was pretty big. It was enough for me to eat three bowls! Great takeout spot on the Ave with large portions and good value. The noodles were super flavorful and had a solid noodle to veggie to tofu ratio. The egg rolls were surprisingly crispy even after a 30 minute car ride without being greasy. This is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle. Coming from Vietnam, it is hard to find restaurants that sell more than just the popular dishes with a commonplace flavor. I got takeouts due to the pandemic and was very happy. The dish are filling, presentable and most of all, very well packaged to prevent cross contamination and keep things hygienic (very important during this time!!). The owner, also observes great hygiene and wear masks when you order. - Combo 2 chicken: I got the grilled lemongrass and the panko fried chicken. The meat is savory, lean and filling for the portion, love the ginger sauce! The accompanying soup was really nice and light too. The rice is flavorful, perhaps was made from chicken broth. - Beef pho: they serve a very different type of pho here compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The noodle is wider and thinner, which is very common in Vietnam. Decent amount of meat. The broth is light and homemade-ish. Overall a very good value for money takeout meal that's filling. We absolutely love this place. We have had different menu items over the course of 2 visits. We have sampled Beef Pho, Veggie Pho, Shrimp Fried Rice, Vermicelli Lemongrass Prawn noodles, Spring Rolls, Roasted Pork Bahn Mi, Vietnamese Flan, Coconut Jelly. Everything here is so fresh and flavorful. Think actual flavor NOT copious amounts of salt masquerading as flavor. Perfect portion sizes. You leave full and happy, not bloated amd uncomfortable. The Beef Pho has this really rich broth that has a very mellow flavor. They don't put too many noodles, so you actually get broth to enjoy. The bean sprouts, jalapeños, and Basil are always really fresh amd unblemished and perfectly complement the tender meats and tendon. Veggie Pho has equally delicious veggie broth. I don't know how to describe the flavor except that it is light and pleasing and just very enjoyable. Condiment veggies are also fresh. The shrimp fried rice is everything you want it to be. Light, tasty, and perfectly portioned for a nice filling meal, but again, you won't have to stuff yourself to finish. Vermicelli Lemongrass Prawn Noodles. Noodles are a nice texture not overdone. The shrimps are perfect and the lemongrass based flavor really comes through. A family favorite so far. The Roasted Pork Bahn Mi has Light and airy toasted to perfection bread and well seasoned meat with fresh pops of yummy veggies. The Vietnamese Flan is light and custardy woth a nice burnt sugar sauce. My favorite dessert is the whole coconut, coconut jelly. It is soooo good. Really refreshing and the perfect way to further delight your palate after a satisfying meal. The stand out star for me though is the coffee. Seattle and I don't get along well, but coffee here is to die for and this coffee especially is something you want in your life if you love coffee! It's rich and creamy, well balanced sweetness with subtlest hit of bitter and salt on the back of your tongue amd oh so good when paired with the coconut jelly! And if the food wasn't reason enough, the owners are awesome people. While we were eating this time a homeless man came to the door and requested hot water for his cup of noodles, to which the owner graciously obliged. Not only is the food good, but now you get to know you are supporting the business of people who care about others. In a world like ours, that means a lot to me. Please come here. Eat here. The food is amazing. Your husband will even slurp down his own coffee and keep trying to steal yours out from under your nose while he thinks you're too busy reviewing to notice. But I mainly came for that rainy day pho! But I ended up getting their chicken dish too. Combo chicken dish with lemongrass chicken and katsu/fried chicken, panko breaded. This was amazing! Both chicken tasted good. Even the rice was tasty. Get it! Pho bac/ beef pho bowl I got a large, not an extra large. It was still big! But probably smaller than normal. And quite oily. Went here today with a friend for the first time. We were seated promptly and the staff was incredibly attentive. Our food came out so fast, I was actually shocked. They have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan options and many of their foods are naturally GF which is a huge win all around. I ordered the tofu pad thai which was delicious. The natural veggie chicken bowl (fried king oyster mushroom) was okay; the fried oyster has a chewy but also slimy texture which is not to my liking...More importantly, they messed up the sauce! I ordered the soy garlic sauce (none spicy) but they ended up giving me the orange sauce (which is the spiciest one..) ALSO, this is supposed to be a vegetarian dish but I ate a piece that is obviously chicken?! The lemongrass tofu banh mi is so disappointing...My friends all said that it was too dry and flavorless. This is a new spot on the Ave and it's definitely worth trying out! I got the combo 2 chicken with crispy panko chicken and grilled lemon grass. The chicken was good, the portions were really good! The rice was my favorite part of the dish! It comes with a slight chicken broth flavoring. The only knock is the sauces. The orange sauce is unfortunately not spicy, and I hope they add a nice hot sauce to their rotation! Either way I would happily come by again and try their other dishes! We were searching for some new restaurant to try, found this place at University Ave. I thought all the Vietnamese restaurant taste pretty much the same, but this place actually Wow me. Their chicken wings is the must try item!! Very crispy and juicy, chicken bowls is very tasty with special sauce, it's not regular white rice, it's favored rice!! Their beef pho broth is cooked without MSG, I can taste the difference. Last but not least, signature sweet bowl is perfect combination with the ice cream and sticky rice. The apps were pretty tasty and I would 100% order it again BUT the brisket in the pho was just too tough/chewy - to the point where my jaw hurts. The broth was still amazingly delicious, but I would never order the brisket pho from here again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Best place on the Ave for pho! The broth is well balanced and does not need a heaping of hoisin or siracha to mask the taste. I got the tofu and veggie pho with beef broth and we ordered tamarind chicken wings. Food: We tried the Vermicelli bowl and their Choice of Two Chicken Bowls. Their vermicelli bowl was pretty good with relatively large servings of the pork. The different ingredients in this bowl added many flavor profile to this taste and the entire dish was rather saucy, which made it even better. The Choice of Two Chicken came out hot and the chicken was very crispy. I think some of the chicken was a tad bit dry but still tasted great. My son and I have been on a quest to find the best Banh mi in Seattle. We have been to about 10 places so far and this has been the best for quality of bread, juiciness of the pork and also the chicken and freshness of the salad. Service and ambiance are also good, but it is a casual place. The banh mi is a bit more expensive than some of the other places close by, but I think worth the extra couple of dollars. We also had the house fried rice which was nice, but also a little pricey perhaps. We will definitely go back once we have been and tried a few more places. read more

Prices are definitely higher compared to some of the other Vietnamese restaurants in the area but the quality of the meals were definitely better! My new favorite restaurant on the Ave! It's easy to walk by this restaurant and think nothing of it, but if you stop to look at the menu you won't regret it! I ordered pick up from yelp and their service was very generous. I even called to edit my order and they were happy to do it! We picked up our food from the window and headed home. Everything tasted amazing. I have no complaints! The spring rolls were packaged thoughtfully and had a plastic film to keep them from sticking together. The chicken Banh Mi was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while, and the pho tasted just like it was homemade. It doesn't taste like most restaurants on the ave with lazy and repetitive flavors; the food tastes like my friend's mom cooked it. The wings weren't soggy, even after the hike home. They were a perfect combination of sweet and hot, and were a very good size. I've never been a fan of Vietnamese food, but this restaurant surely changed my mind. After posting pictures of my meal on line, countless friends have asked me where I ordered food from! This restaurant definitely takes no shortcuts when it comes to providing service and food. There was no one here when we went at dinner time on a Thursday night, which was surprising because the service and food here was great. The prices are very reasonable and they give huge portions. The large has big portions for a decent price compared to other pho I've ordered for delivery. I also appreciated that they used the thick noodles which is different than what is usually used around this area, though they were a little under cooked for my preference. I just boiled the soup and just threw the noodles in to cook them a little more. Also, I figure with delivery it's hard to find a happy medium since it has to travel.
