    Fried Mozzarella
    Anthony W.

I simply adore this place. The drinks are made well and it's an old school Seattle "dive" bar that's no longer a dive. The food is basic bar grub but made well and with unique twists. I order the fried mozzarella balls every time. They are entire fresh balls of mozzarella deep fried and all gooey when they arrive. The burger, salads and chicken are all done right. If you're looking for a fun dive bar to visit with both indoor and outdoor seating, this is a great place to hit. Fortunately I have a friend who lives a block away, so I have an excuse to visit here on a regular basis. .

    Fried Chicken Sandwich

This is definitely a dive bar, and their food is definitely great!! It can get very crowded in the evenings. The chicken sandwich was MASSIVE! Very nice and crunch and flavorful. You also get a large portion of fries! The staff was nice as well. They could make better cocktails, especially their listed ones, but the ciders they have are great and they do have a wide array of spirits. This place is all street parking, and you enter from the alley way :)

    Plenty of indoor seating

Great Seattle dive bar with outdoor seating and plenty of room! Pinball, photo booth, great staff.

    Totchos

An excellent, old-school dive. Nothing new Seattle about it and that's fine with us. Try the nachos with tots.

Great hole in the wall dive bar with good food, strong drinks and plenty of good tunes to play from the jukebox. A neighborhood fav!

Low key, spacious, friendly staff. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.

The best neighborhood place in the central district! Great vibes and the food is way better than it has any right to be for the prices.

We had been planning for a week to go to that bar specifically, but we were immediately treated like shit by the bartender going off on a power trip, and it made us feel so uncomfortable we had to leave. We had no idea it was the kind of bar where tables were spoken for. We walked in and all we saw was a line to the bar. There is a possibility that I missed a sign, but I'm pretty observant about that stuff. We saw an empty table and naturally walked over to it, and he pounced on us to get our IDs like we were sneaking in. He kept telling us we were 8th in line. I understand they can't give us a set time, but the over-explaining and scolding was so unnecessary. We accepted that the table wasn't ours but he kept going on and on and on. I understand working in a bar gets stressful, and I know there are entitled people that probably pissed him off, but he was projecting something crazy at us that I don't think we deserved. He did apologize for being a dick I think he wanted me to fawn over him and tell him he wasn't but I confirmed that he was and he apologized which I actually respect. Maybe if you put up some signage or something, that could help unless the whole schtick is that your staff is immediately hostile. In that case good job. Hope I can snag a table another one of these days. Best.

It was oddly charming since I rarely go to dive bars so felt like this was all a little novel. I ordered a tequila soda and didn't really like it. I didn't specify what kind of tequila, so figure it was just the house stuff and that was why it wasn't to my liking. The guy was cool about it and said he could make me a new drink or add some pineapple juice to give it more flavor. They do not have food, but if you are nice they might give you a cup of cashews from the nut bar. We went for karaoke and it was great vibes. Fun songs, welcoming environment, cool set up. I don't always feel comfortable doing karaoke in public with a bunch of randos but felt good up there singing one of my favorite songs. People were all cheering and having a great time. Def a fun community here.

Don't expect service, they're pretty no-frills so it's get your drink and vibe type of place. I will say other patrons and some staff were much more friendly than I was ready for. This place is definitely run down, a little old, and stinky, but that's what's charming about this little bar, they're not pretentious or try-hards here, despite the area they're in. We were sad to learn that they don't sell any food, just drinks, pool, games, and vibes.

CAGETTE WINE BAR: WHERE CABERNET MEETS CABLE CROSSES…read more Listen, while other wine bars in Madison Valley are busy being pretentious about their French pronouns, Cagette has transformed itself into the Gold's Gym of grape juice. Their sommelier doesn't just wear a tastevin around his neck - he wears it WITH A WEIGHTLIFTING BELT. The wall of vintage Gold's Gym Venice Beach photos mixed with First Growth Bordeaux bottles is nothing short of INSPIRATIONAL. Arnold's famous posed double bicep shot is perfectly positioned between the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Barolo section, creating what they call the "Pump & Pour" corner. Their wine flights are served on custom metal trays shaped like weight plates. The "Franco Columbu Collection" of Italian reds arrives on a mini bench press rack, and you have to complete three reps before they'll pour your Brunello. The dedication to the aesthetic is STAGGERING. You haven't lived until you've experienced their "Muscle Beach Merlot Mondays" where the sommelier spots you through a vertical tasting while shouting encouragement like "LIGHTWEIGHT BABY" and "AIN'T NOTHING BUT A PEANUT" between sips. Their wine descriptions include both tasting notes AND the optimal rep range for maximum gains. The "Lou Ferrigno Lounge" area features leather seats made from recycled weightlifting belts, and every wine glass has grip knurling. Their coasters are miniature versions of the original Gold's Gym logo, and they refuse to serve anything less than full-bodied wines because "light wines are for WIMPS." Their "Pumping Iron" wine club (which meets in what they call The Dungeon, a clear homage to the original Gold's basement) requires members to deadlift their wine allocation before taking it home. The sight of someone clean-and-jerking a case of Grand Cru Burgundy is both terrifying and beautiful. Five stars for creating a space where wine snobs and gym bros can finally coexist in perfect harmony. I've witnessed heated debates about both proper squat form AND proper wine storage temperature, often in the same conversation. P.S. Their "No Pain No Pour" policy seems strict, but you haven't lived until you've seen someone do burpees for a better pour of Barolo. P.P.S. The bathroom mirrors are positioned at optimal flexing angles, and the hand soap dispensers are shaped like dumbbells. ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Note: This review was written while watching their sommelier demonstrate proper clean-and-jerk form using a methuselah of champagne as a training weight. Special Addendum: To the customer who complained about the mandatory flex pose before entering the reserve wine room - this is about CULTURE, Karen. Final Thought: Never has there been a more perfect fusion of fine wine and fitness culture. It's like if Joe Weider opened a wine bar and Franco Columbu was the beverage director. Remember: Every wine glass comes with its own "PR" (Personal Record) tracking card, and yes, they do measure your wine lifting form. No kipping allowed on the Bordeaux pulls. Warning: Side effects may include excessive use of phrases like "crushing it," "lightweight baby," and "yeah buddy" while discussing vintage vertical tastings. P.P.P.S. Their new "Swole Somm Certification" program requires both blind tasting skills AND a minimum bench press requirement. As it should.
