Good vibes, and pretty good food! I had heard great things about this place and finally got the chance to try it. We came on a rainy Thursday evening right before the end of happy hour, and were able to still order off that menu in time. Such a fun and cute spot! Met my friend here for HH and to catch up on work and life. Wasn't crowded when we arrived but def filled up as we were leaving. Our server was so cute and always checked in when walking around. I ordered mango habeñero wings and he got ceviche since he just had his ortho visit. Couldn't really eat anything too hard. Pretty good Mexican restaurant! We love mexican food and had stumbled upon La Josie's. The atmosphere is pretty lively, with loud music and an overall fun vibe. I had the chicken tortilla soup and a couple of tacos, and they were all very tasty. If you have a big appetite, note that they tacos are street tacos, meaning, they are smaller. La Josie's Seattle appears to have opened right around the beginning of the pandemic. Its been a year dishing up Mexican favorites and cocktails , but they're still going strong, With most restaurants opening up again at 25% capacity its been interesting which place would meet our needs of physical distancing/ barriers following the strict COVID restrictions and our own need for personal safety from others. They do have a small outdoor patio section as well as indoor booths that are separated by plexiglass. Now for the food, we ordered: Chimichanga (chicken) $11 Quesadilla (Carne Asada) $8 Coquito (a coconut cocktail with rum and allspice) $8 The Carne Asada Quesadilla was amazing! the meat was grilled and had a slight char on it. Combine it with melted cheese sandwiched between a tortilla shell and you got magic! The Chimichanga was stuffed to the brim with braised chicken. But the flavours of everything let me wanting the chimichanga to be stuffed with the Carne Asada instead. The Coquito was a nice creamy drink and perfect for a light weight like myself. I've been there three times now and if you sit at the bar, you are very well taken care of. The tables you wait a considerable amount longer for your server but that's the price of traveling non-solo. Came once with my girlfriend and we had chips and salsa and a large Corona Especial. We shared that then she ordered a margarita and myself a Mojito. My girlfriend being Cuban said that is NOT a mojito and she was right, it was a BLENDED concoction with little strips of mint leaf floating around a brownish drink. Not good! We left. I would give this place less than 1 star if I could because of the attitudes of two bartenders that made my friends and I shots just now. To be transparent, we had some people that needed to use the restroom immediately but we saw the sign that said it was for customers only, so we were going to get a drink. The group was not together and I apologized that we would have everyone's ID's as soon as everyone was back from the restroom and the girl had a lot of attitude. I apologized because i thought they were closing and she said "no, we're just slow". Now looking at this place I saw they didn't close for another 90 minutes. I asked for a sweet shot for my friends and described a sweet drink and when she mentioned Mexican Candy Shots, i perked up because that is my friends' favorite drinks. She made the drinks and had some attitude at the rate that we showed our ID's. They poured 4 shots that were in wide small cups that had less than an inch in the cup. The bill was $70 including tip making the shots about $14.50 each, and we were definitely shorted with the amount of liquid. These were not shot glasses but small wide mouth cups. I also am a bartender where I live and know that this is not the standard amount. I have had moments where I have been annoyed in my job, but I would never take that out on a random customer. The girls were obviously annoyed and did not want us to be there, honestly I would rather have peed my pants than have ordered these mediocre shots. read more

The music was definitely a touch too loud because the waiter misheard me and gave me the wrong food but I ate it anyways and it was really delicious, so no harm no foul!
