It's a neighborhood spot with good food and great location. There is never a large crowd and it's impossible to hear whomever you're with talk over the ridiculous music. A really fun spot to watch UT football games -- I'm not even an alum, but had a great time with friends who are. They worked with the UT Austin alumni group, Puget Sound Tex Exes, to open the space extra early for the big UT-OU rivalry game. With kickoff at 9AM, they had a line out the door at 8AM. It's a real gathering hub and they even have Shiner on tap for a true taste of Texas! The food here is pretty solid Tex-Mex as well, the chips and salsa were delicious and the staff even gave us a guac on the house. It was about 10pm on a Saturday night and a friend and I were looking for a late spot to dine in the area. Laredo's popped up in our search as closing at midnight; however, we learned upon arrival that they actually close at 11pm. No problem, just a quick meal. We arrived and there were two other parties eating dinner so the ambiance was sleepy and sports played on every TV. My friend orders her drink and asks for a shot of a specific brand of liquor and immediately notices the taste is off, only to learn (after a little back and forth with our waitress) that they don't actually have the liquor my friend requested and instead use something similar-- a little weird but I don't blame our waitress because she clearly didn't know and she quickly made it right by taking it off the bill. Just a learning opportunity for the waitstaff to have a better understanding of the bar. For food, I started with the Texas Brisket Chili and will DEFINITELY be returning to have it again. It was flavorful, spicy, and made in the proper Texas way: without beans. Absolute star of the show though next time I'd ask for cheese on top. For my entree, I had the Habanero Shrimp enchiladas and was a bit disappointed that the habanero cream sauce wasn't spicy at all, so the dish was a bit boring flavor-wise. My friend had a half order of the nachos with chicken tinga and found pros (the chicken tinga and its flavor) and cons (refried beans were very wet and there wasn't enough cheese overall). We both felt that, perhaps due to the proximity to closing time, this food preparation may not have been up to their usual standard. Around 10:45pm, a show let out from Climate Pledge Arena down the street and this place was swarmed with revelers looking for a late night snack and beverage. Employees appeared to be super overwhelmed and curtly telling customers the kitchen was closed and I saw a few feel uncomfortable and leave. Kind of a bummer to witness, though I'm sure these lost dollars are a regular occurrence given their conflicting closing times on search platforms. So bummed I chose this place for Mexican food: The pictures say it all. None of these "dishes" were eaten at all, this is literally what we paid $60 for and it went straight into the trash. Carne asada = Gristle? Where is the sear even? This is not skirt nor flank steak, yet you're paying like it is. The beans had an extremely bitter aftertaste, like they were dipped in chemicals. Not to mention the ridiculous portions. I'm a person that never leaves bad reviews and eats just about anything, but this was by far the worst I've ever had. Was in town for the week. Had dinner here twice. First time, great in every way! Second time, great in all but one way. Our waitress was rude, impatient and rushed (I doubt there were more than 10 people there). We're pretty good about blowing off people like this, but she was pretty bad. Been here a few times and don't really have any complaints - it is just a solid spot for some Mexican food. I like to come here for a nice brunch as well. I did get frustrated once as a margarita day special was advertised (on Instagram I think) but nothing was happening when we arrived. I first ate here several years ago and had fond memories of sitting on the outside deck. When I returned for dinner this time there were very few patrons, which was nice there was no wait. Al pastor street tacos were as good as I remembered, and I like their preparation style of using small chunks of pineapple. One of the daily specials was crispy beef tacos - they were just ok and I wasn't overly impressed with the flavor, menu said they included avocado but it didn't. The beans were lightly seasoned and just tasted like pinto. Service was fast and food came out quickly. I'd consider returning again but likely just stick with al pastor. First time coming to Laredo's Grill around 8pm and they were decently busy on a Wednesday night. Got seated right away though which was nice. Once checked in to Yelp, I got a coupon for free Chile Queso and Chips and the Queso is AMAZING!! Definitely filled me up before the actual meal. I did order the Carne Asada Fries and they were huge for being listed under the appetizers but they were probably the best thing on the menu that I could've ordered. Not sure if it is always this lively or if the holiday brought everyone in, but there were so many people in there drinking and having a good time. The nachos were really good! Definitely add the carne asada onto it, it was really well seasoned and super tender. Also, I love how they layered their refried beans on the bottom layer of the nachos. The service was good. It was super busy and loud in there for Cinco de mayo so I think mistakes are bound to happen. First, one of our drink orders was wrong. But, our server corrected it immediately and we were able to keep the wrong drink. Then, we didn't get our chips and queso dip. And the server didn't come over until we were done eating the nachos so, there was no time really to request the chips and queso be brought over. Our server was super nice about it once we were able to let her know and offered them to us free of charge. The guacamole was also fantastic! Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Our waitress also handled the large number of us well and was quite prompt with anything we needed. Prices were reasonable. The only part that I did not like was the hostess. While the restaurant was busy, she was extremely rude and off putting. We asked to seat more than originally anticipated and said we were ok with waiting longer if needed, and the response we got was an eye roll and a are you serious? Was not very welcoming. My friend had raved about the avocado margaritas for a while and I'm always trying to find them around town (the ones here are delicious but I would like a stronger avocado flavor). I checked into yelp and got a conplamentary chili con queso. It was delicious. My son ordered a cheese quesadilla and it was huge. He enjoyed it and it came with pickled jalapeños. My other son got shrimp tacos. The herb butter paired very well with the red sauce and crème on the top. The truck stop dinner was pure Tex mex - tasty brisket chili on cheese enchilada. Found a couple happy hour gems. Every day 4-6 pm, tacos, nachos, dips and a mini chimichanga are $4-$6. Wine and champagne glass for $5 and a tecate can for $3. Wish they had more drink specials. For $4 I had 3 pastor tacos that filled me up. Pastor was tender and juicy with a savory taste. My friend had 3 steak/carnitas tacos for $6. The steak was a bit more tender with a mild sweet taste. Folks next to me got the half nachos for $6 and the $4 salad and both looked very filling. Will have to try both those dishes on my next adventure. Also will be back for a regular meal. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I got my food within 3 minutes of ordering and had to order a second round. Ambience is your typical bar with 5-6 TVs throughout. This is a mixed bag. I want to start off by acknowledging the place was busy and our server was fast and efficient. A couple of things we didn't anticipate were: - Being told all coupons and promos were no longer being accepted despite the Yelp check in still offering a free Chile con queso. We know that's not the server's fault but the management should honor it until they take it down because that's a failure on their part to set the right expectations, and just take it off Yelp. - We both ordered iced tea and when I took a sip noticed instantly it was fruity. We were never warned ahead the tea was fruity or tropical. I have certain fruit allergies and had to ask what was in this tea, we confirmed this tea wasn't safe for me to drink and our server admitting having no idea the tea was fruity at all, then continued he just grabs it from the bar and serves it. (I have a feeling someone might try to counter argue I should have asked first, but we didn't order fruity tea and we're not told it was fruity, we expect the staff to know what they are serving). I tried to get coffee but they'd apparently ran out and our server tried to explain their shipment intervals. The rest of this gets pretty subjective. The queso and chorizo were okay. It did come out hot which is great, but the flavor was a little odd. The pollo laredo had a flavor that's really hard to describe but was only okay. The carne asada was heavily seasoned (which is usually just fine) but again the flavor profile was unlike anything we'd had before and it wasn't appealing. There was almost a torch taste flavor which was surprising, I don't know what their cooking methods were. It's possible there are others who do enjoy the flavors and the food here, but it's the first time I couldn't just power through the flavor and eat the carne asada. We left a lot of food on the table. The only saving grace really was the speed and attitude of our server even with the bumps (one being related to allergies from them not disclosing/knowing what they're serving) described earlier. Upon recommendation from our hotel we walked to Laredo's. Molly was our server for the evening and she stopped several times to check on our meal. The chips and salsa were great - especially the salsa. The salsa was really great since it was on the medium spicy scale. The chicken and steak fajitas was cooked as expected and came out sizzling. I can confirm what most of the reviews say. The portions here are tiny, the prices are predatory and the meat is bursting with juicy flavor. Nothing is cheaper than Mexican food. Rice, beans and salsa all cost pennies. Do why is a child size plate being passed off as a meal being sold for $25. If you read my review, you know I typically go into detail, but this place was such a waste, I'll just say, AVOID IT! Anyplace that will shake you down for a Lincoln and a Jackson for rice and beans and you walk away hungry should shut down. read more

I came here because I was looking for the best cheese queso in town. Laredos was at the top of a list I saw so that made me want to try. The queso was thick and chunky and not creamy like I was expecting. It was also spicy and I can't tolerate a lot of spice. The taco salad was huge, my husband ordered fajitas and our server Judas was phenomenal. However, as we were leaving I left my AirPods in the case on the table (by accident). I called within minutes but was told they were not there and could not be found. I came back to look for myself but of course they had been taken. This is literally an amazing restaurant food and staff 10 out of 10 absolutely recommend!! The first time I went here was almost 3 years ago with my now husband at that time we were just friend and he had invited me on the trip to Seattle. We found this restaurant and absolutely fell in love with it we had an amazing waiter named Judas who made us feel right at home. He was so kind and He just had an amazing vibe he really made our dinner super special and later that night my now Husband asked me to be his girlfriend! We returned a year later when visiting Seattle again and luckily were able to have Judas again as our waiter!! And to our surprise he actually remembered us the conversation picked up right where It left. the food was amazing the drinks were even better . Now we just got to Seattle tonight and we went too eat. We have a son now who's almost 2 months old and of course Judas was super kind. Anybody who's A first time parents know that it can be a little scary going out with a baby especially when they start to fuss. He and the whole wait staff made us feel right at home again and were super accommodating and very welcoming. We had some amazing Carne Asada fries and again and got the amazing waiter Judas!
