I ordered the brisket chimichanga and it was terrible. I asked for the red chile sauce on the side because it's an important part of the food and I'm glad I did because it also was bad. Their red sauce is tomato sauce with oregano in it, not even close to real red chili sauce. They put cheese and rice inside along with the brisket. A real chimi will have cheese on the outside of the tortilla with shredded lettuce and sour cream if you want, no rice. I took all of three bites and left the rest. Went in the other day during their margarita happy hour, and not only was it packed to the brim like sardines, but the cooks and the patrons were not wearing any masks. Some were even coughing on their hands and preparing food. As you can imagine, I quickly finished my drink and closed out my bill. I know Seattle is more lax than Los Angeles, but this was not safe. If you plan to go here, be sure to wear a faceguard. Also the manager seemed to not even acknowledge that his staff were not following simple sanitary procedures. This is the first place I had dinner at after moving to Seattle this past week. We arrived on a Tuesday evening and were seated right away. It was fairly busy in a good way with a lively atmosphere. They have specials daily for food and drinks. Tuesday is Taco Tuesday we're you can get 3 tacos for $5! I wish we knew that before we ordered. I checked into the app and to my surprise they have an offer for a free chille con queso but the server mentioned they no longer accept that, which was a little disappointing. The meals came out quickly which was great because we were hungry and the food was delicious!! I ordered the Enchiladas Banderas and they were so good! I highly recommend. OMG moments happen and Laredo's brisket chili is one of those moments where you just savor the greatness. Undoubtably the meatiest & tastiest brisket chilis in Seattle. I mean no BEANS just ALL MEAT. Comfort food at its finest. Menu item Ive dined on are Carne Asada street tacos which have authentic flavor and a real zest to them. Not sure what green sauce they place in top but I like it. However when I really need a pick me up meal it's the Rolled & Grilled Steak Quesadillas topped with pico, queso fresco and crema that make me crema my shorts. Absolutely the finest creation you'll ever slide into your mouth. Laredo's offers a Taco & Drink happy hour menu thats sensational. Bar is a great place to grab a shot of tequila , margarita or Cerveza and unwind from your day or socialize with friends. True neighborhood comforting feel with the ambiance and decor to match. The nachos were pretty good, but the chips weren't the best tasting. The meat also could've used more salt. The tacos, also pretty good, but the tortilla is white corn and they tasted like microwaved mission tortillas. We also needed to add salsa and salt. Also, the other reviews about it smelling like bonfire in there, the second we walked in - we understood. Margaritas are pretty good! My friend had a frozen margarita, which he said didn't taste the best - but I didn't try it, so I can't really say. I wouldn't necessarily come back here. Maybe for a drink. I would love to go back. (That's saying something, right?) The Happy Hour menu is amazingly cheap. I ordered the mini chimichanga and the server described it as half the size of what I received which is what prompted me to also order the tacos. (They thankfully were delicious leftover!) I tried the Sangria (not a Happy hour drink) and while tasty, I don't think it contained any alcohol. COVID review - I was just traveling through Seattle so am not sure the currently mask climate other than governor mandated for WA. If you stood up, you needed to be masked or suffer an immediate scolding, but seated no mask was necessary. When i decided to give this place a second chance back in May I had the carne asada fries and they were pretty good. nice n crispy waffle fries loaded with adasa, pico, cheese etc. i could dig it for sure. Went back a couple more times since then too. However I went in there today to pick up some tasty asada fries to go. Get them back home and get ready to enjoy some goodness. Much sadness then ensued when I got to a fry and not only was it not seasoned, it was basically raw (unthawed and not cooked thoroughly). So sad. So I head back down to the restaurant to get a refund cuz eff having them remake my order only to be disappointed again. I ask about the fries and they said they did change them. I said, when? within the last 3 weeks? They were better with the fries actually cooked with some seasoned crisp on them. The lady helping me obviously could not multitask or take criticism to save her life. As she tried to search for my order in her hand held device I told her that cooks in the kitchen should be able to tell if something is cooked or not, its kind of their job. She could not handle it, got frazzled and had to walk away in order to be able to refund my order. My feedback was too much for her to handle. On my way out i hear her say to her co-worker "how can people be so rude". Took all I had to not turn around and tell that lady she was lucky as this was pretty light for me. Made me wonder how she handled drunk people at the bar during her shift. Wanted to ask her boss how often they find her in the back crying over customer criticism. Safe to say, I enjoyed this place a total of 2 times and they fucked up a total of 3 times. twice during pandemic and once this evening. 3 strikes and you're out. I won't miss it though. sure, I had good fries a couple times but with all the other issues, eff this place. not worth it. also kinda pricey for the quality of food. read more

Solid 3.5 stars. This place gains points for convenience and proximity, and it's hard to go wrong with chips and dip! I haven't tried a meal yet but would reevaluate after. Ambiance: It's comfortable. Not fancy or pretentious. The dark wood gives it as but if a rustic feel and the seating is convenient for parties of 2,or 4. Drinks and appetizers: I'm not a tequila or beer drinker so my drink options are often more limited. Great happy hour prices though! The chips with the (vegan) guacamole (yes that's a thing) are always satisfying. Service: This is probably what I like the most. It's chill and all servers I've had have been attentive not intrusive. It's ok to have a drink or two and talk, unlike some places that force you to get a meal. Dore this reason alone, Laredos will stay a classic neighborhood joint! read more

Our favourite place for drinks and food before the Climate pledge arena Good American style Mex food. Very nice cocktails in a nice, local bar setting. Staff are friendly, all the sports are on the screens, There is reasonable parking nearby and its a relatively short walk to the arena. Decided to grab lunch here today. They allow dogs and kids on their little patio. We ordered their queso, bloody Mary, chicken tortilla soups, chicken taquitos and black bean & corn breakfast tacos. The queso came with complimentary salsa. The salsa and chips were really good. The queso was alright. It had a lot of peppers and it kind of came off more as a chowder than queso. The chicken in both the taquitos and the soup had a very particular flavor to it and we personally didn't enjoy it. The tacos were fine as well as the rice and beans. Though I kept finding small hairs in the dish (in the tacos, in the beans) not sure we'd go out of our way to go back but maybe one of the other proteins is better but mainly wouldn't go back because of all the hair I kept finding in my dish. read more

The Flautitas were nothing to write home about, though the accompanying salsa was great.. Nice presentations on all the dishes we had. We had the chicken quesadillas and thought they could have used more kick. The Simple Salad at happy hour time is a great deal at $3. Very large for an appetizer. Of the drinks we had, the house margarita was better than the Lone Star, which, having hibiscus, you'd think would be a foofy drink - it is not! It's not sweet. Drink prices even at happy hour did not make us terribly happy. I like having Laredo's in the neighborhood. This is one of my favorite Queen Anne places to eat / visit. Food is simple but good. Servers are busy but kind. The business went to extra lengths to remain open during Covid (one of the few) and provide the neighborhood with an option for dine in/out. Their menu is Tex-Mex and changes a bit every couple of months but I do really like their nachos and carne asada. I feel very conflicted. On one hand I was stoked to see a spot in Seattle who dares to have Tex-Mex. Then after going I sadly remembered this is not real Tex-Mex. Sure they have a Trudy's Mexican martini on the menu but Trudy's it is not. First it was missing salt on the rim and olives. It also didn't have quite the right punch or flavor. Missing metal shaker aside this was a margarita. The queso tasted better than it looked as it was lumpy and appeared more like hummus. The salad was fine. The Tortilla soup had too much shredded chicken in it I liked the salsa, but the cabbage Pico they had I had never seen ever during the 8 years Iived in Austin. I've had carne asada fries in LA area many times and they BLEW MY MIND! it's amazing, exploding with flavors, yummy fries, etc etc, but this place.. it was ok. Comparing Laredos carne asada fries to those that I've tasted in LA was my mistake. How can a Mexican restaurant in Seattle beat those of restaurants closer to the border??? silly me. However, it hit the spot. I had a mad craving and it satisfied it for the moment, but looking back and analyzing the food, it just was not the same! Their fries were skinny yummy crunchies, (similar to BJ string fries) but the carne asada.. the meat itself had NO flavor. bleh. The other dish we ordered was chicken fajita. that was YUMMY! it was really good. Huge portions, yummy hot sizzling food. It comes with 3 mini tortillas (which were yummy) but it's certainly not enough to for the huge portion of meets and grilled veggies. I felt bamboozled though when we ordered more tortillas and were charged $1.50! shucks. oh wells! The next time I have another craving for carne asada fries, I will return... The sign on the outside is very low key, and this place looks very hum drum. Once you step inside, the decor is dark, and not like most Mexican places. No high back booths. Went to this place for lunch. The hostess/waitress instructed us to seat ourselves. I opted for the chips and queso and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. And then I realized they had a whole board of daily specials that the waitress never told us about. bummer. The queso (Jack, mexican cheeses and peppers) was a bit runny for my taste. It looked like a half full bowl of milk with cilantro garnish on top. It seemed like all I could taste were the over abundance of peppers, and the milky white cheese didn't have that depth of flavor that you get when you cook the peppers in the cheese. Not bad, but I wouldn't order it again. The chicken tortilla soup was very hot. The broth was basic, not extraordinary. There was plenty of chicken, some cheese and avocados. I tried my friend's mole and cheese enchiladas. They were smoky, and the mole was quite good. The complimentary chips and salsa were very tasty. The service was slow (we were one of three occupied tables in the whole place). We had to take our cards to the bar to get our cards run so we could get out of there. They also had some weird fishing show playing on the TV while we were there, which kind of felt weird. read more

I came here for the happy hour and really enjoyed hanging out with friends, drinks and a few of the $4 choices on the happy hour menu. They were really filling and I didn't even need to look at the menu as the happy hour menu is top notch. If I lived close at hand around that part of town I can see hanging around for happy hour a couple times per week. They are located in lower Queen Anne and I bet the parking really sucks around here. But, if you want a beer or margarita and some good quaso with tacos, come try it out. I see Laredos as a great place to hang out for happy hour, meeting friends out and taking your date for Mexican food. read more

This used to be my neighborhood spot, but I've moved away and just came back again for dinner before an event at Climate Pledge Arena. The food and drinks are tried and true delicious and the wait staff do a good job. They have great vegetarian options (mole is never available with veggies so its a special treat!). I like that you can show up dolled up ready to see Dua Lipa with your girls, but I also may or may not have been here in pajamas to watch post season baseball at the bar. :P It's a Lower Queen Anne staple. Went here on a Sunday afternoon with no reservations and looking for a table for 7. The place has a bar dive kind of feel but the food was really good! We all had brunch items such as the chilaquiles and breakfast tacos. The steak was amazing along with bottomless mimosas! The game was on so it was fun to eat Tex mex while driving mimosas while watching the game. Practically right in front of our Air BNB here is Seattle. Craving Mexican and I saw their Yelp photos as having al pastor, carne asada, and fish tacos, so to Laredos we went. It was a great welcoming as soon as we entered and she complimented my NFL team hat which we won't mention in the city of the 12th man. Service was great and the food was good but not 5 star great. I ordered the six taco plate (2-fish, 2-carne asada, 2-al pastor) and my wife got the brisket Chile Relleno. My tacos were soggy by the time it reached the table. I suggest doubling the tortillas for the soggy protection. The fish was really good, but the al pastor lacked flavor. The Chile Relleno had a good amount of brisket, but not a lot of cheese. Overall still a decent Mexican meal. The margarita Monday special was perfect. Our server Nancy which she claimed was her first day, but if she didn't mention it, we would not have known. For the locals, I don't know your other Mexican restaurants around, but I would recommend Laredos to you. read more
