    Breakfast Tacos -- Veggie

A really fun spot to watch UT football games -- I'm not even an alum, but had a great time with friends who are. They worked with the UT Austin alumni group, Puget Sound Tex Exes, to open the space extra early for the big UT-OU rivalry game. With kickoff at 9AM, they had a line out the door at 8AM. It's a real gathering hub and they even have Shiner on tap for a true taste of Texas! The food here is pretty solid Tex-Mex as well, the chips and salsa were delicious and the staff even gave us a guac on the house. The breakfast tacos were delicious and the chile con queso was DELICIOUS. A great gameday atmosphere, I'd go back for the food too!

    $19 Carne Asada Fries, uneaten

So bummed I chose this place for Mexican food: The pictures say it all. None of these "dishes" were eaten at all, this is literally what we paid $60 for and it went straight into the trash. Carne asada = Gristle? Where is the sear even? This is not skirt nor flank steak, yet you're paying like it is. The beans had an extremely bitter aftertaste, like they were dipped in chemicals. Not to mention the ridiculous portions. I'm a person that never leaves bad reviews and eats just about anything, but this was by far the worst I've ever had. I had high hopes because the pictures of the food looked good, and the restaurant inside was a nice vibe.

I first ate here several years ago and had fond memories of sitting on the outside deck. When I returned for dinner this time there were very few patrons, which was nice there was no wait. Al pastor street tacos were as good as I remembered, and I like their preparation style of using small chunks of pineapple. One of the daily specials was crispy beef tacos - they were just ok and I wasn't overly impressed with the flavor, menu said they included avocado but it didn't. The beans were lightly seasoned and just tasted like pinto. Service was fast and food came out quickly. I'd consider returning again but likely just stick with al pastor. Tip: there's very limited street parking but the QFC parking garage is within reasonable walking distance.

First time coming to Laredo's Grill around 8pm and they were decently busy on a Wednesday night. Got seated right away though which was nice. Once checked in to Yelp, I got a coupon for free Chile Queso and Chips and the Queso is AMAZING!! Definitely filled me up before the actual meal. I did order the Carne Asada Fries and they were huge for being listed under the appetizers but they were probably the best thing on the menu that I could've ordered. The fries were waffle cut which made them even more amazing My friend ordered the carnitas entree and the carnitas were honestly so flavorful it made me want to order a plate to go.

$6 happy hour nachos and $12 scratch marg

Pros - friendly staff, great service, good food and drinks, classic Mexican restaurant spot. Fabulous happy hour - nachos for $6! Cons - atmosphere is ok, but always seems a bit squished/crowded when I go. Also, quite expensive for what it is. Then again, everywhere is expensive in Seattle these days. Overall, I'd recommend. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Great place for some Tex Mex in lower Queen Anne. The staff are friendly and the place is nice. The menu has a variety of option and we opted for the brunch menu on Sunday. They have bottomless mimosa as well! The brunch options tasted great and definitely will check out again. Covid precautions are in place and vaccination required for indoor seating.

Nachos (I did forget to take a picture until they were a bit eaten)

More like 3.5 but rounding up! Me and my friends went for cinco de mayo and the ambiance was great. Not sure if it is always this lively or if the holiday brought everyone in, but there were so many people in there drinking and having a good time. The nachos were really good! Definitely add the carne asada onto it, it was really well seasoned and super tender. Also, I love how they layered their refried beans on the bottom layer of the nachos. The service was good. It was super busy and loud in there for Cinco de mayo so I think mistakes are bound to happen. First, one of our drink orders was wrong. But, our server corrected it immediately and we were able to keep the wrong drink. Then, we didn't get our chips and queso dip. And the server didn't come over until we were done eating the nachos so, there was no time really to request the chips and queso be brought over. Our server was super nice about it once we were able to let her know and offered them to us free of charge. Based on this, I think the service is pretty good and they seem like they care about customer satisfaction. Again, I think it was just busy and loud so mistakes happen.

    Margaritas - classic and avocado
    Christina C.

Had happy hour tacos, guac classic & avocado margarita. Tacos were so delicious but if you take HH they are very small. My fav was fish taco and beef ( it melted on tongue) chicken taco was ok. Avocado margaritas was yummy too. Guac not recommend $7.99 and tasted very bland. Only good was chips and sauces. Service slow but I want to come back for delicious tacos. We paid for 2 margaritas, guac and 6 HH tacos $50 with tip. Good deal

Chips and salsa, shrimp tacos, house salad, and brisket chimichanga

Had a reservation on a Friday night. Didn't seem too packed but steadily busy while we were there. Server was friendly, but we didn't see much of them and had to wait for a while to continue ordering / get our bill. The food portions were all quite large. My chimichanga had more rice inside than anything, so I messily opened it up and tried to get out the meat to eat with the veggies I had. My friend said his tacos were "alright, but rubbery." Wouldn't rush back here but wasn't a terrible experience.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday around 5 pm and it was pretty crowded, but no wait. There was a UT football game on. The ambiance was loud and it was hard to talk. We ordered chips and salsa, nachos, and a fajita quesadilla. Everything was just ok. Most of the chips were broken into small pieces. Green salsa was good though. Service was fine. Street parking.

Staff is efficient and keeps the bar clean picking up any left behind glasses quickly. The bar is quirky and fun. Private and comfy booths, and lots of clowns everywhere. Sad clowns, happy clowns, creepy clowns, and more clowns than you can count! The bathrooms are unisex with plenty of stickers to look at. Always hand soap and toilet paper available even when busy. Hard working staff! Some areas of the bar like near the bathrooms have flashy lights and makes it feel like you're at the circus. The vibe is laid back and care free. The décor is old-school dark wood bar chic with small HK style neon signs hanging from the ceiling. The Seahawks celebrations merriment was still ongoing with karaoke blasting on Superbowl Sunday. Service was swift, and the food came out in a timely manner. I will remember this place for future late-night food. The Food: Rib Eye Steak Platter, $28 - 4.5 Stars This sizzling platter comes with your choice of sauce and a choice of starch. Hubby chose black pepper sauce and spaghetti. Hubby asked for medium rare, but the rarest they offer is medium due to being served on a sizzling platter. Fair enough. The platter did arrive smoking hot. The flavors were pretty good. The black pepper sauce was delivered warm, not very hot. The flavors met expectations. Stir Fried Udon with Tenderloin Steak, $20.95 - 4 Stars This dish is also done in a black pepper sauce. I quite like the high veggies-to-udon ratio, almost equal parts. Overall flavor is a bit salty. Some beef pieces are better than others, a mix of tender and chewy. Garlic Pepper Soft Shell Crab, $16.95 - 3.5 Stars Despite being fried, these pieces are softer, less crispy than I all other fried soft-shell crab I have had. Perhaps they might need to double fry. These have good flavor with good seasonings despite not being particularly crispy.

There is a caveat though, which is that they only have select items in the AYCE menu. The ambiance of the place was inviting enough for us to give them a try! There is a 90 minute window for AYCE, and you can order a maximum of 3 items per person every 15 minutes. All orders have to be made from an app on your phone so make sure you have a fully charged device! When we logged in the app, it was confusing to manage at first so we worked with the server to put our orders in. She had to put in our orders for us a couple of times and then we figured out how to work the system after that. To do the math for those reading the review and maximize the number of items you can order with the 90 minute window, you can potentially order up to 18 sets of skewers per person. Each set of skewer has two sticks. My hubby and I missed a few items from our order but we were getting full after my 10th skewer and his 15th skewer so it did not matter too much! The AYCE menu also has options to order zaru soba, corn cheese, and takoyaki! Presentation is great but I wish the flavor matched the visuals. The standout skewers for us were the boruta pork and the wagyu beef tongue. I was really hoping that the yakitori would be crispier and had more of a smokey flavor but I really can't complain too much for the price point. The food is solid but not like a wow, I have to come back here again! We only saw one server for the busiest part of the night, serving 8 tables all at once. She made sure that our glasses were never empty and she treated us warmly. Wile the decor and the general atmosphere are pleasant, the quality of the food would not merit another visit for me.

The eclectic fellows that inhabit this establishment in the wee hours of the morning come in all shapes and sizes, but they just have one goal - eat something greasy and satisfying. That's where this place delivers. I ended up here at slightly after 3 AM - and it was pretty packed. All the tables were full, and we were considering leaving after about ten minutes when one finally opened up. The servers are incredibly busy, and it took us about 15 minutes to actually get our order in. I got the cheese curds as my meal. These were easily the best cheese curds I've ever had. In Seattle, I've had a few instances of cheese curds that are relatively sad on the inside - they have a decent fry, but fail on the cheese aspect. That's absolutely not the case here. This cheese is amazing. It's the perfect level of squeakiness, and the stretch is unreal. It has a very unique flavor that you'll only find in cheese curds, that soft yet milk-like taste that's so addicting. It was melty, gooey, and hot inside. The taste was just pure heaven - I was shocked at how good these were. The fry on the outside is also so good. It's light yet so crispy; a beautiful golden brown that produces an amazing crunch when you eat it. Just phenomenal. The sauce provided with this was solid, but honestly I didn't even need it as the curds were amazing by itself. I tried some of the chicken fried steak as well. This was fine. The scrambled eggs were decent, but the hash browns felt a little limp and soggy. The steak itself was pretty average. The prices here aren't too bad either - my cheese curds were around $16, but the portion size was more than enough. Overall, this is a true late night classic that serves pretty great food as well. 8.75/10

I underestimated the attractiveness of Happy Hour where many drinks are $1 to $3 off. The place was full and became even fuller (and louder) by the end of our meal. This bar is hopping with many regulars, alcohol-filled, with multiple screens televising sports. When we went in October, the food menu says the food is discounted 25% off during certain late hours. The current online menu doesn't say that anymore. Not sure if that deal is still available. Our server was easygoing. Note they charge 3% for credit card use. The Food: SRB Burger, $22 - 3 Stars Menu: Painted Hills beef, burrata mozzarella, basil aioli, arugula, pickled onions, hand cut fries Per the menu description, this burger sounded great. Unfortunately for hubby, this burger has the exact pet peeve that he dislikes the most - where the patty is small and tall (he calls it ball shape) compared to the bun. The patty diameter is significantly smaller than the bun. He literally hates that. I had to tilt the camera much lower to see the patty inside. On the plus side, the fries are great. Grilled Shrimp Club, $24 - 3.5 Stars Menu: bacon, lettuce, tomato, house made guacamole, roasted chipotle aioli, hand cut fries This club sandwich is very good except for the one thing that the menu didn't specify - the bun. They use ciabatta bread, which I find doughy, thick, and overwhelms a sandwich. That is my pet peeve for a sandwich. Neither of us is betting well on this night. They are probably more of a 3.5 Stars overall. We find their prices to be high, especially since they additionally charge a credit card fee. When we went, the cost was $21, $23 respectively. The prices are now $22 and $24 per online menu. I would not return for food only. I would return for a bar vibe.
