Guacamole and chips.
Kesia G.

I stopped in today for chips and guacamole. The owner was friendly and even included a few salsas with my order, which I appreciated. The bill came to $10, and I tipped $5 for a total of $15. When I got home, I was shocked at how little guacamole I received -- barely 3-4 bites -- next to a container overflowing with chips. What made it worse is that the owner looked right at my order before handing it to me. If I had been dining in, I'm sure the portion would have been more reasonable. For the price I paid, this was really disappointing and felt careless. Not impressed, and I wouldn't order guacamole here again unless the portions are made fair.

Stopped by here after an event nearby at a wine bar. Needing some dinner, my friend and I saw this place and thought Mexican sounded perfect. They do have happy hour and a large regular menu to choose from. I really liked the ambiance here, with lots of art and fun decor. It felt very low-key and family style. Prices are pretty good too. I ended up with 3 tacos with pork. It was seasoned really well and had a good amount of filling. We also received complimentary chips and salsa! The service was very friendly although we were indecisive so she had to return a couple times until we were ready to order. The waitress was pleasant about it though!

Shrimp tacos with beans and rice.

I've been coming here since 1996. I've had everything on their menu at least 10 times and it's easily my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Seattle. Came here today for lunch. Had the shrimp tacos. Spot on as usual. The staff knows me well and always greets me with a huge smile. I will continue to frequent this establishment until I can't make it up to the hill any more.

Yummy drinks and food but they totally failed me on my street tacos! Got them to go and didn't know until we arrived at home that they didn't include anything but meat and tortilla. Sadness

This place is AMAZING!!! Their drinks are HUGE and the services are the BEST. I have been to this place a couple times and always get to feel tipsy! I got a super mango daiquiri! That drink gave me a brain freeze! Haha so make sure it warmed up a bit (the slushy melt) then drink it! I also love their beer! It's in a huge mug too! I ordered half chicken and I did not expect it was actually half chicken! Haha I was expected it chop into pieces for me. But anyways it was really fun to rip the chicken and enjoy this juicy chicken! They also offer hats and special hat for my special girl! She got a free dessert! I highly recommend this place if you want cheap food and cheap drinks! I love their happy hours!

Happy Hour Wings ($6.95), Chips & Salsa, Guacamole

Stopped by for late night happy hour. Fun cantina-like vibes, reminded me if the cantina bars in SD :) Complimentary Salsa and chips are always welcome note: *happy hour prices listed below* House margarita ($8.95) was okay very sweet and clearly from the mix. The wings ($6.95) were a nice snack Guacamole (menu lists seasonal price and I forgot what the receipt said) was fine The staff member helping us out seemed slightly confused. Don't like how the house marg was pushed on us when there was a better margarita available

Chimichanga Dinner & 2 Item Combo Tacos

Go here if you're ever in the mood for very authentic tasty Mexican food! The food and drinks are sooo delicious. Next time you're in I recommend ordering the virgin pina colada and trying the shredded beef chimichanga or the mole chicken bursting with flavor in every bite. This family owned restaurant has amazing attentive service. The rice & beans alone take me on a journey back in time to my grandma's kitchen, I highly recommend if you're ever in the mood for drool-worthy & authentic Mexican food you can find it here in the heart of Capitol Hill.

Combination - chicken burrito & Chile Relleno

This was my first time dining here. The service was excellent. It gave off family vibes. My piña colada was bomb. The combination I got was a chicken burrito and chile relleno and both were SO good. The salsa on the chile relleno and burrito was so flavorful. The music playing was on point. Bar area very relaxing and nice. Everything was wonderful and I'll be returning here for sure.

Worth a try. Staff is really nice, and it's a really good deal. I ordered the 3 item combo and two fish tacos, and it was way more than enough for 2 people. Just the combo would have been enough. Downside is I did get a piece of plastic in my fish taco. Not a big deal to me, but not great.

Amazing food. Alma, our server, was the best!!! So nice. We had a great time. The chips and salsa were very good.

I love La Cocina and Cantina! The huge margaritas are the best. They have so many flavors, they are always tasty, and the prices are incredible. It was happy hour and my mom got wine which was only $5 a glass! I would seriously recommend this place for the drinks. The food here is pretty tasty too. I had a 2 Item combo with a taco and burrito which came with rice and beans. I was shocked that this plate was only $13.50. Again, prices are incredible here. I also tried the fried ice cream which was good. The ice cream itself was tasty but I wasn't a fan of the strawberry sauce, it tasted artificial. Service is always great here. Everything comes out very fast and everyone is friendly. Ambiance is nice too, it's nice how they can open up the front of the store so fresh air and sunlight streams in.

Steak fajitas and awesomeness!!!!

Will they bring back the buffet?

Sadly, no. 😢

What are the days and prices for their lunch and dinner buffet?

Hi Kalpana, the lunch buffet price is currently $11.25 and the dinner buffet is $14.50. I love this place and was surprised more people hadn't yelped the menu and prices either. Enjoy!

I also enjoyed their sauces and it is just fun to experiment with different sauces and enjoying the flavors. I won't be surprised if all their sauces were housemade. The location is conveniently across from a big and pretty empty parking lot so it was also easy to drop in to eat. I will definitely be craving this place again.

I just came back from Chile, where I tried a pisco sour for the first time, and this one tasted just like the one I got in Valaparaiso. The reason my friend chose this place is the best part. Located in…read morethe Maple Leaf neighborhood across from the local park, Mojito is a Latin-inspired restaurant featuring flavors of Cuba, Caribbean, and Latin America. Luam Wersom, the owner, greets and waits on diners. The restaurant is charming and well-sized. Arriving early, we readily got a table. The food is flavorful, though I can't vouch for the authenticity. They offer two house-made hot sauce, one of which has habanero. The server said, "A little bit goes a long way." It has a kick but maybe 3.5-stars kind of spicy, toned-down spiciness for the American palate. Our server did a great job answering my questions. The Food: Arepa, with shredded beef, $7 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Venezuelan corn cake. Choice of ham and cheese, shredded beef, or pork These freshly made meat pockets are about 4" diameter, well-stuffed, and tastes great with the house hot sauces. Camarones Carmen Miranda (appetizer), $17.50 - 5 Stars Menu: Shrimp sautéed with grilled pineapple, mango, bell peppers and Cachaça, with tostones This appetizer version is my perfect dish - protein and produce. This reduced portion of the entrée size has 8 jumbo prawns! The flavors are savory, but also refreshing from the salad and fruits. The tostones are surprisingly filling. La Jefa, with chicken, $17.50 - 3.5 Stars With a choice of protein, this sandwich went home instead since the two small plates were well-sized. They use a Macrina bakery roll (nearby) to make these well-stuffed sandwiches. Though tasty, this dish didn't stand out as a Latin dish other than the tostones and mild guasacaca. Tierra Y Mar, $37 - 4 Stars This surf and turf dish is from the January specials menu -grilled octopus, NY strip steak, shrimps, with chimichurri sauce. The octopus is phenomenal - perfectly grilled, flavorful, and large. Next best are the two shrimps. The steak is grilled correctly but itself didn't have much flavor. The chimichurri sauce was lacking flavor, too. After dismissing my idea of pouring the light hot sauce on the steak, hubby did it and concluded the steak was much better. Lol.

this sandwich was highly impressive as the main part of the…read moresandwich, it was pretty necessary that the pork be cooked to near-perfection, and i have to say it was here it gave off a deep, brown-ish color, which showed the extent of it's cooking and marination. It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal

The Pollo al Carbon was not good at all. The chicken was smoked (dry) and the sauce underneath it taste like nothing. The veggies and potatoes were good though! The Hushpuppies tasted more like cinnamon and were simply not good. The Coco Greens tasted like kelp and coconut milk. Service was also decent! Our server was kind and friendly despite us returning the first thing that came out, the Hushpuppies. The drinks were made and sat for about 5mins after the bartender made them while our server was stocking silverware.
