    Ensalada de Pollo

Very cool spot! I love the atmosphere and the food was excellent. Tried some new things and really enjoyed the experience! I had the ensalada de pollo and really loved it. Staff was friendly and service was quick. There is one very serious issue I have with El Parche, but I decided not to let it affect my score. They use a very strong air freshener that is overpowering. These air fresheners can be very toxic and I immediately started getting a sore throat from it. And furthermore, why would you use that as it probably covers up the amazing smells from the kitchen, or? Anyway, overall a good experience and I love that lots of Colombianos come here, so it must be legit!

Finally visited El Parche after meaning to for a long time! I couldn't have had a better experience. It's nice to find authentic new flavors from lands far away. I had the requisite Bandeja Paisa and it was fantastic. The service was great & the restaurant is clean. A little spendy at $30 after tip, but that's apparently what a nice lunch costs now, not a big deal. I will be back!

We tried this place because it has wonderful reviews by celiacs; almost the entire menu is or can be made gluten free. The empanadas were fantastic (my favorite was the beef and I'm not typically into red meat) and the sancocho soup (had to try because this is the delicious looking soup Mirabel and her family eat for dinner in the movie Encanto!). We also got the picada for 2 which was a great way to try a bunch of things and my husband loved but was heavy on the meat for me. Too much chicharrón even for him but great for people who love it! Great portions for the price. We also had a great mojito! Service was wonderful, attentive, and fast. We will be back!

This was our first Colombian food experience and our experience was meaty. I don't known if El Parche makes comfort food, usual food, junk food, or what, but it lacked vegetables. Though I do love a good plantain. And their passion fruit mojito. The service was friendly and helpful while we gringos perused the menu and ordered. My husband got the bandeja paisa which seemed to be a sampler platter but like I said meaty, and if it wasn't meat then it was carbs - rice, corn, plantains, yucca, and/or potatoes. My favorite was the empanadas. We got one of each - cheese, meat and chicken. They were covered by a delicious corn meal. This came with a delicious green sauce. They also have live music some days. On a Friday night, as we were leaving, a band was setting up. I was enjoying their regular music over the speakers which was probably Colombian, but a live band is pretty cool!

My friend was craving Colombian food and he wanted to take us to one of his favorite places, El Parche Colombiano! We went for a late breakfast and early lunch. I had Colombian coffee (Tinto) and it was okay. It tasted a little watered down. We shared the Arepas con cualquier carne with chicken and it was quite delicious, especially with this delicious salsa-like sauce! For entrees, we got the Bandeja Paisa, Pollo Asado, and Huevos pericos con arepa. Everything was delicious and full of flavor! This was my first time having Colombian food and I was not disappointed and excited to come back and try something new!

The food was good, tried the fried fish and it did not disappoint, different for sure. Ok he place is really nice inside and clean. I love the decor and the area looks hip. I think this is the closest Colombian place close to Bellevue, Washington. They have live music Wednesday to Sunday starting at 7pm. We will have to come back for that too. We will definitely come back and try other foods before we leave this state, as we are from Florida, so this area is new to us. Thank you.

Great brunch experience at El Parche. Feels very family friendly, great presentation, good portions of delicious food made with love. We had the fried tilapia, carne asada salad and many passionfruit mojitos. Will definitely come again.

First time trying Columbian food and I really enjoyed it. Carne asada in the patacon especial was delicious and despite being a to go order the plantains were still nice and crispy. Pandabono was soft but chewy. I've never had bread like it before. I'll definitely come back to try more!

Plato típico y ajiaco, very tasty.

The food is heaven, if you are Colombian, you will Feel at home, the food, the services, the environment, everything is perfect. The empanadas, chicharrones, sancocho, yuca, bandeja paisa, pandebonos..... a thousand stars.

Love to their old location, and we were happy to finally get to try the new location. It's the same clean, bright, welcoming decor - just just a tiny bit smaller. I lived in Colombia for a few years and learned how to cook many of these dishes. This is a good Colombian food. Is it the most fantastic Colombian food you'll ever have? No, but it is excellent and the best that you will find in the northwest. Only disadvantage is that the location is further away from us. Oh well. We will still make the trip when we don't want to cook Colombian food.

Coming here was the first time I have tried Colombian food and it did not disappoint! I tried the bandeja paisa because I wanted to sample a bit of everything. My favorite meats were the steak and the chicarron! Also the servers are super friendly and attentive! Hope to be back in the future!

Ever since my boyfriend and I moved from NYC to Seattle, one of the things we've been yearning to…read moreencounter is hearty Colombian(him)/Ecuadorian(me) food. New York was crawling in delicious Southern American food. So we decided to go on an adventure to Tacoma and visit this establishment, and I'm so glad we did. Upon walking in, the space is decorated in Colombian flags, license plates, banners, and other miscellaneous decor. The tropicana radio station playing in the back made us feel like we were back in Manizales for a brief moment. We were greeted with kindness and curiosity as we exchanged cultural backgrounds. Foods that we ate: - Pandebono (Plain, with no guyaba): One of the many famous breads Colombia has to offer, the flavor was spot on. Savory and cheesy with a nice chew. It was more airy than I was anticipating, so a lot of empty pockets while eating it (it's usually denser), but still delicious nonetheless. If you like a sweet surprise, would recommend getting the pandebono with guyaba inside. - Buñuelo: Another great cheese bread in the shape of a sphere and fried. The inside was super soft and airy as well which is more on brand for this! Although not typically crunchy or hard, the shell did lack a bit of toughness that's normally expected. Again, did not take away from the enjoyable experience otherwise. - Bandeja Paísa: Nearly perfect, we were both so stunned. The chorizo and chicharron were AMAZING. The chicharron had the perfect amount of meat, more crunchy than chewy which is what we preferred. I don't know what blend the chorizo is made out of, but it was packed with flavor. The steak was a little tough but still delicious. Avocado, fried egg, the arepa, all complemented the dish well. I personally don't like maduros, but the one in this dish was not too sweet at all, delicious. The frijoles were also packed with flavor, giving the rice a wonderful flavor to soak up. We definitely need to come back and have their churrasco for sure. If you're Colombian in the Seattle area or are looking to try Colombian food for the first time, this is a must visit!!!

The ambiance was vibrant with tasteful cultural music which I truly could not get enough of. The restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms and what you can see of the kitchen. Now for the food; I was not overly impressed. They seem to be popular for their empanadas but from my experience they were bland, cooked from frozen, and lacked that the booming flavor I was expecting for an authentic Colombian restaurant. Some of the entrees they make looked good but there were a few of those I wouldn't recommend either. I likely won't return but I'm excited I had the opportunity to see what they were about.

TLDR: Food: 3/5 Okay…read morePrice: 3/5 $$ Service: 4/5 Ambiance: N/A, it's a food truck. We went because we were already in the parking lot and it smelled good, which is always a great sign. The two folks working were nice and knowledgeable. Sadly they were out of Arepas so my plan to start loudly singing songs from Encanto in my car while eating one was foiled, at least for today. We ordered quite a few menu items but noticed there were not prices listed which was a bit annoying. The cost for what we received was not a great value and only one of the items we ordered was worth the price. Perhaps if we try them again they will be not be out of arepas and we won't be as dissatisfied but chances are we won't as the price point does not match the flavor. The stuffed potatoes were good, but overall it was just under-seasoned and the fries were soggy in a "your fryer should be hotter" kind of way. Which makes sense because they inevitably fried all of it, one dish after the other. Generally, you could try it, and maybe if we had come earlier, it would have been better or if we had eaten there, in the little table area they had set up (which is covered so there is that at least), but I don't think so. I will say that in general, South American food is less spiced and salted than Mexican food, and so it is entirely possible it was supposed to taste the way it came and I am just not enough of a foodie purist to appreciate it. As it stands, I am sure that some of the flavors could be right for some folks and there is a certain homey flavor town that they visit, albeit not exceptionally well.

I just came back from Chile, where I tried a pisco sour for the first time, and this one tasted just like the one I got in Valaparaiso. The reason my friend chose this place is the best part. Luam Wersom, the owner, greets and waits on diners. The restaurant is charming and well-sized. Arriving early, we readily got a table. The food is flavorful, though I can't vouch for the authenticity. They offer two house-made hot sauce, one of which has habanero. The server said, "A little bit goes a long way." It has a kick but maybe 3.5-stars kind of spicy, toned-down spiciness for the American palate. Our server did a great job answering my questions. The Food: Arepa, with shredded beef, $7 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Venezuelan corn cake. Choice of ham and cheese, shredded beef, or pork These freshly made meat pockets are about 4" diameter, well-stuffed, and tastes great with the house hot sauces. Camarones Carmen Miranda (appetizer), $17.50 - 5 Stars Menu: Shrimp sautéed with grilled pineapple, mango, bell peppers and Cachaça, with tostones This appetizer version is my perfect dish - protein and produce. This reduced portion of the entrée size has 8 jumbo prawns! The flavors are savory, but also refreshing from the salad and fruits. The tostones are surprisingly filling. La Jefa, with chicken, $17.50 - 3.5 Stars With a choice of protein, this sandwich went home instead since the two small plates were well-sized. They use a Macrina bakery roll (nearby) to make these well-stuffed sandwiches. Though tasty, this dish didn't stand out as a Latin dish other than the tostones and mild guasacaca. Tierra Y Mar, $37 - 4 Stars This surf and turf dish is from the January specials menu -grilled octopus, NY strip steak, shrimps, with chimichurri sauce. The octopus is phenomenal - perfectly grilled, flavorful, and large. Next best are the two shrimps. The steak is grilled correctly but itself didn't have much flavor. The chimichurri sauce was lacking flavor, too. After dismissing my idea of pouring the light hot sauce on the steak, hubby did it and concluded the steak was much better. Lol.
