Love their street tacos: authentic, affordable, lots of meat choices (highly recommend the lengua and asada). Salsa bar is my favorite, watch out for the light orange one though in the far back (delicious, but I think they added ghost peppers so it nearly killed me ). Service is quick and staff is friendly/thoughtful. They even brought out iced glasses for our Victoria. I ate at my favorite taco stand on a non-taco Tuesday. Unfortunately, one of the fish tacos was raw and cold. I went to get a refund and the manager lady refused, and basically treated me as if I was a junkie trying to steal from her. Obviously, not the "Seattle service" I'm used to. I'll have to update you a proper review later. But everything about this place was exactly what I wanted (except no beer despite being on the menu). I had 3 street tacos, one of each of the pork variety. All incredibly flavorful, nothing chewy. What fat there was, was the melt in your mouth pork belly variety. Three was the perfect amount for a responsible adult. Which means I wish I'd ordered 5. The place was clean. The bathroom actually had hot water that didn't take time to warm up (suggesting it's actually used to wash hands). The man behind the counter was helpful, had a warm smile and made you feel welcome. And it's clearly not a secret as there was a steady stream of people coming in. I'll be looking for excuses to come back. And with that massive menu it looks like I'll be trying new things for quite a while! read more

A little bit on the pricier side but they give large portions and service is friendly. I got the chicken mole w corn tortillas and the horchata. The black mole sauce was perfectly balanced with sweetness and spice. Horchata was perfect - not too sweet. Overall, there were lots of seats and we had a great time. read more

My history with Taqueria Tequila goes back to my college days almost 25 years ago. Those $.99 cent tacos kept my belly full and my pockets comfortable. Everything I tried, I liked and the salsa bar was the icing on top. When I settled in South King, I was excited for a second location in Kent. It was further south, but still much closer than north Seattle. Unfortunately, that location only lasted a few short months and the one time I visited, the services was terrible. It's been about a year since I've been to the original location and when I learned of this location, I thought I would come check it out, because traffic and parking at the original location is rough to say it politely. When I arrived, I was the only one here, that wasn't a good sign for a Saturday afternoon. I also noticed the salsa bar didn't exist, which impacts my ability to spice up my dish. That was a lot of ramble to say this. This was the worst meal I've had from this business and had it been my only experience, I wouldn't return. The food tasted terrible. The temperature inside the restaurant was about 50 degrees and the two tiny salsas I was given were watered down. Anyone in this area, should check out Acapulco Fresh 5 miles east. The menu there is limited, but the food and salsa will not disappoint. If you truly want Taqueria Tequila, I'd suggest you hit the Greenwood location. Service and food is far better there. I spent $20 today for a meal I ultimately put in the trash, because it was the worst Mexican food I've had in a while. read more

This place has the best food, however, I could not imagine what would happen if they ever got busy. 3 customers in the entire restaurant and it seriously takes 20 minutes for two tacos. This is not an isolated incident. EVERY time I come here that is the case. I keep coming back because the food is EXCELLENT, but they seriously need to get the turnaround time in check. read more

Ordered takeout from here last night after arriving in Seattle from a long day of driving. We needed something fast and Taqueria Tequila was only a few minutes away from our Airbnb, and Mexican always sounds good! The food was all very good and with VERY generous portions. We have at least one or two more meals now out of our order. The kids meal was the size of like a normal adult meal, and my husband's burrito was, I kid you not, the size of his head! I ordered the mole enchiladas and the mole sauce was tasty with a slight spice to it. The food is awesome! Cooked fresh and a large selection of choices (check out the menu). The best churro that I have ever eaten (has a surprise in the center). Everyone in my party said they all agreed that the churro is the best. I would go back for the churro alone. Don't order a soda though, they charge $5 for a little cup haha. read more

While I still mourn the loss of Tubs, this place is helping me reach Acceptance. And who would've guessed - between this place, the Loxicha truck at the Chevron up the street, and Aceituno's (though not my fave) all opening up in the past year, suddenly Lake City is a kind of Mexican food Mecca. Hell, throw in Taco Time and Taco Bell, and Lake City Way now satisfies Mexican food tastes across the whole spectrum (there are also two other taco trucks - one at the Shell and one by Brown Bear Car Wash). Options include everything you would expect from a full sit down Mexican restaurant, but in a much more casual setting that anyone from California will be familiar with. You've got your regional Mexican music playing, your aguas frescas machines, and your huge menus. No free chips and salsa though, unfortunately. Food was very good. Totally solid. Ingredients were fresh, everything came out hot, and it'll scratch the Mexican food itch that you just sometimes have to scratch. What kicks this into five star territory though was the service. Friendly, down to earth, happy to have you there. I'm very happy to have them in the neighborhood. Welcome to Lake City! Oh and look at the size of this Tequila burrito. Goddamn. read more

Gave me a chicken chile relleno burrito (chicken isn't listed as an ingredient on doordash which i used to order, i don't eat meat) with everything deconstructed when i only wanted the salsa on the side. the horchata is reallly horribly watery too and lacks any flavor other than ice and cinnamon. Really fun vibe at this place. The menu is massive. And so are the portions! I shared the chicken fajitas with my wife and we were both stuffed. They gave us extra tortillas free of charge. Yes- would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a fast-casual Mexican food dining experience. They have done a nice job changing the location over from the previous Tubs establishment. The interior was nicely done and very clean. I have been to their Greenwood location a handful of times, so I was expecting a comparable experience. We ordered the taquitos, Birria burrito, and chips & salsa. The quality of food was great- exactly the same as the Greenwood location. The Birria was tender and juicy. I wished there had been more of the Birria juice to dip the burrito in. The hubbs really enjoyed his taquitos- especially the guacamole, sour cream, green sauce, and cotija toppings. Similar to the Birria experience, the salsa was insufficient to accompany all of the chips. My one complaint, is that the Greenwood location has a salsa bar, whereas this location did not (maybe they will change that...?). read more

We are big fans of Taqueria Tequila - we've been going to the Greenwood location on 85th for many years. Food is always awesome - recommend the pollo alla crema and the burritos for sure. However we showed up Sunday at 8pm (hours posted are open til 10pm) and were told they would only accept to-go orders? Very odd and not in line with our experience with the other location. Also we tried to order a burrito with lengua (a very normal order we consistently get at the other location) and were told that lengua wasn't an option for that burrito (???) but other lengua options on the menu are clearly available. Not sure if the girl behind the counter is new and didn't know how to put in an order for lengua but it was just really weird. This location is slightly more convenient for us to come to but if this kind of experience is consistent we'll probably still try to stick to the original location where service is better. read more

Omg this place is a hidden gem worth seeking out. It just opened and Ive brought the family here twice. Every dish was beautiful, and delicious. Dishes are in large portions and quality ingredients. And it's not the usual fare, there are really unique dishes offered as well as classics with a unique touch. The counter service is friendly and attentive and the dining area is charming.
