In short: Holy cow, we had lunch here and we're ready to go back for dinner already tonight. Our new favorite food truck (and that's not a short list). In long: A food truck that seems to be growing rapidly into a small institution. This is a forgotten-looking parking lot that still manages to get busy, and as of today they're building out biggish improvements to the overall area--La Casa seems to have its spot dialed in over by the street. We pulled in and couldn't quite tell what all comprised the business, in a good way. They have their trailer where they take orders, cook, and serve. They have an espresso-shed-type building for storage and some signage. They have a lean-to type deal on the building side, where they have covered and shielded seating at a couple picnic tables. It's a small compound. The window is manned by quite possibly the nicest kid in King County. He's friendly, answers questions, makes sure you know which things are spicy. The rest of the crew might be his folks, for all I know. The whole place has a very friendly, homey vibe. We picked up 3 plates plus peppers and drinks for $40 plus tip. Prices here are fantastic. Pastelitos We got 2 beef and 1 chicken for our order. These are ridiculously good. Crunchy on the outside, with enough dough to also have a little light, airy, chewy layer under the thin crunch of the outside. Big flavors, all in perfect balance, in the fillings. Not especially spicy. Beef was our favorite, but try both. Honduran Enchiladas They name these enchiladas, but describe them as tostadas, and what you get looks and eats like a tostada for sure. I don't know enough about Honduran culinary traditions to explain this, but I know they're delicious. Big flavors, nice crunchy tortilla, holds together for the whole meal. Again, not that spicy, but everything comes with pickled peppers and veg, and you can order lots more of that if you want that kick. Baleada This was very mild in flavor, and by far the softest textures of everything we tried. Delicious! Sort of a big taco folded closed with beans and egg inside. I loved it but will add peppers and salsa as I eat next time. Habaneros Lots of pickling flavor happening with these, good heat, some other veg in the little cup with them. I could go through 3-5 of these with a meal. You don't get a fork; they might have them on a side table or you might have to ask. If you opt to eat in your car, and they're not too busy, there's a decent chance they will come find you and open your drink for you. I can't say enough good things about the food, service, or prices here. If you're anywhere near the area, check 'em out. read more

Friendly and fresh! First time having Pastelitos. Think empanadas, stuffed with chicken, potatoes and cheese. Cabbage salad and Pickled veggies were a nice contrast. Platanos came a tangy dipping sauce read more

My wife is a SoCal native and we make frequent trips there to visit our burritos. And her parents I guess. We've been starved for good Mexican food in the PNW for far too long. I'd say the closest we've gotten to the taste of Cali Mexican food was at the defunct Hecho's in Greenwood. Oh, how I miss their lengua tacos. Well the search for a good burrito is over. I know this is technically a Honduran food truck but my taste buds aren't clever enough to know the difference. The rice is certainly different, but in a pleasing way. The birria burrito is sublime, pair it with some sour cream and your favorite hot salsa and you will not be disappointed. We've tried some of their other offerings, and they're okay, but each time we stray from our truth we pay the steep opportunity cost knowing we could have been having a birria burrito. Just do me a favor and leave some birria for us. read more

4 words. Pollo Fritos con Tajadas. I don't think I've ever had Honduran food before but it won't be my last for sure! This was amazingly packed with flavor, from the fixings to chicken leg quarter. It was a generous amount too and I shared it with my son and had leftovers for another day! This is a static food truck that's only opened certain times during the week. I foresee it being opened more days once business is up and running. Seating is limited with just two picnic benches but food was still amazing to eat at home. Kept hearing about the great birria tacos here. Never having tried these tacos before, I came here to experience taco love. The ambience is great. A step up from the usual outdoor eating area, with covered seating, long picnic style tables and even heaters. The young man who took my orders was really friendly and outgoing. When trying a new dish, I am a little embarrassed about not being able to pronounce the name correctly, or knowing what dish to specifically order. This young man was really considerate of guiding me through ordering my birria with consommé. It was about a five minute wait, which I appreciate as you know food is being made fresh to order. The two tacos with consommé were flavorful and lovely spiced. The combination of tacos, corn tortillas and consommé made a great flavor combo.The tacos were loaded with meat. I actually was full after the first taco. But the taste was so lovely, I couldn't stop eating. He came out to ask me how I liked my food. This is a real confident move. He knows I'm going to love my food. Already planning to come back to try the chicken meal and pastelitos. I'm a cornmeal anything nut, so these sounded tasty. My first time ever trying their food and I will ALWAYS come back. I wish I got photos of everything we ate but at least I captured the Birria tacos - they are DELICIOUS. I took one bite and got side tracked from taking photos of the rest of the food ;) Make sure you put some of their green salsa on top, too! Love how they're family owned and the experience is so homely. The space heaters in the seating area are such a comforting treat, too, while you eat! If you're lucky enough, the owner might come out of the food truck while you're seated to check if you're enjoying the food and to share some good conversation. We drove all the way from Seattle and it is definitely worth the commute! read more

Great food, friendly customer service interactions, and so happy my friend recommended them to me. They are located in the green food truck in the middle of the parking lot of an old hotel lot which is being remodeled. They are remodeling the lot so they are bringing in more customers to all the shops here. I ordered the Pollo Fritos Con Tajadas and unfortunately was so excited to eat I didn't take a picture of it. After finishing my food, I had to finish it off with a Honduras Soda!!! I definitely recommend this place especially for you foodies who want to experience Honduran food. read more

This place is a little slice of heaven hidden in an Edmonds strip mall. They must have magical elves hiding in that truck because the food is sooooo good. They melt the cheese on the tortilla using the flattop which gets the cheese all melty and crispy on the edges. I can't get enough of their burritos, asada, pollo, I don't care it is all good. Don't sleep on the birria either, that consome is to die for get it for everything. read more

This place recently took over a small cookie kiosk in the Firdale Shopping center and I have to say it's a darn welcome sight. Their take on standard fare such as burritos and tacos are great, but it's their Honduran specialties that REALLY set this place apart. Their Take on Fried Chicken, the "Pollo Frito con Tejadas" is incredibly delicious. The chicken was well seasoned and the fried plantains they include as part of the dish are nice change of pace from plain old tortilla chips. They also are constantly experimenting with new meat choices. They had friend lengua briefly, and now are experimenting with their take on Carnitas which are absolutely fantastic. Definitely worth the visit for satisfying your south of the border food urge. They're one of the few places that regularly serve Birria which is a rare offering for Latin American food joints up here. Sincerely hope they continue to stick around and flourish. Decided to try out this new place and we were very happy we did. The staff was very welcoming, great little covered area to sit and eat. We got the asada burrito and it was amazing! We've been searching for a good burrito in Edmonds. We also got the chicken pastelitos which were decent, basically just a taquito, the slaw and salsa on top was key. The food here is delicious! And not too spicy, just right for me. Have not tried everything on the menu due to an allergy, but the dishes I have tried included tacos, burrito, enchilada, rice, and the beans. All very good and the beef and pork were excellent. Mexican Coke available! Take out arrived home still hot and not soggy. The fried green bananas were and interesting and tasty bed for several dishes. read more

I have been here a handful of times, and everything has been SO GOOD! I love the baleadas, pastelitos, and today, finally tried the pollo frito. Every part of the dish, even the beans, is so flavorful and marries perfectly together. The owner is super nice and you can tell he really cares a lot about making good food for people. It was my first time trying out hondurian cuisine and I was impressed. Definitely coming back soon and making this place a must for my wife and I when we want to grab a quick and delicious bite to eat. The service was professional and prompt. It didn't take long from the time I ordered my food to the time I received it. Another thing I would also like to add that I really liked was the whole ambiance of the place. Decided to try this food truck when I was at the farmer's market on Sunday and so glad I did. Right from the start I was very impressed. The vendor greeted me and took the time to sincerely ask if I was enjoying my day. He took my order and my food was ready in a short amount of time. I did get my order to go because of the weather even though they have a nice weather protected seating area. The food was really good. I had one of each of their single tacos. They were very tasty and the ingredients tasted fresh. Very happy with the choice and I will definitely go back and try more menu items because of their friendliness and food quality. read more

AMAZING!! These guys are on point when it comes to taking you to flavortown!! I had the Carne Asada Plate and it was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The side and the accoutrements were fresh and lively as well. Ask for the pickled spicy onions! They're fire! This is hands down the best and most authentic Honduran food you'll find in the greater Seattle region. I've had the dishes pictured in addition to taquitos and the tajadas regulares. Everything is delicious and I'd order it again. If you want to eat there, they have a cute well-lit wooden gazebo attached to the truck. Above all, the sincere and accommodating customer service will make you wanna go back (as I did). read more

I honestly don't know how to rate this place because I don't have any experience with Honduran…read morefood. I really wanted to like it because variety is the spice of life. But I was not expecting a mountain of mayo-slaw on my fried chicken or so few tortillas with my beef dish (just one) or the beef stew on crunchy shell as an enchilada. The really draw to this place for me was plantains....but instead of the sweet grilled variety I was hoping for, the plantains here were flavorless/starchy fried chips. It was an extremely disappointing $70 for me. But I got to try a very different type of cuisine. You should definitely give this Honduran truck a try for yourself. It's like nothing I've ever had before.

We sampled the revueltas (pork, beans, cheese), loroco con queso (a special flower), calabazitas (squash), and chicharrón (pork) pupusas. We ate them with a generous amount of curtido (a fantastic pickled, slightly spicy cabbage slaw condiment.) Ingredient driven and freshly made. So happy to see they were so busy, as well. Full Stars!
