Food 5 Service 5 Ambiance 5 What a great place! The five of us popped in for a grazing style lunch & it was amazing! Layla was so welcoming & took excellent care of us. We started with a round of double tall greyhounds-so good! We then ordered fish & chips- nice thick pieces of fish with the perfect crunchy batter & crispy fries. We kept ordering from there with chili- really tasty & a bit spicy, tortilla soup that was full of tender chicken & whisky crab bisque- so creamy & delicious. We also got the avocado shrimp- really fresh & tasty, the bacon wrapped scallops with green goddess dressing & salad- so amazing! They are also dog friendly which was perfect since we just came from the dog park- we'll definitely be back again

We stopped by here one night after hearing about their amazing fish n chips. It was our first visit and we weren't sure what to expect but were looking forward to a family night out together - something we rarely do these days since the pandemic. Other reviews have mentioned that they do not acknowledge people when they first walk in, and I would agree with that. We were a little confused about whether we should wait for someone to seat us, or to seat ourselves. When no one came over to us, I figured it was the latter so I lead my family over to one of the open tables and we sat down. My daughter was nervous that we weren't supposed to be doing that so I did go up to the bar to check with someone if it was ok, and the busser said it was fine. The server came and was quick to take our drink order but did not come back to take our food order. I flagged someone down to let them know we were ready and eventually our server returned to take our order. Once we got that in, it wasn't too long before our food came and all was well. The fish was the beer batter kind - golden, crunchy and delicious. Slaw was decent. We would have liked a more substantial tartar sauce, though. The one they offer is more like ranch consistency. Nonetheless, it was good and so were the fries. I think as long as you know ahead of time that you will need to be responsible for seating yourself and flagging staff down to let them know you are ready for them to help you (and you are ok with this kind of exchange), this is a fine place to eat. A little signage to communicate this to the customers would probably go a long way to prevent people from getting upset. We are fairly easy going, so once we figured that out, we were good.

MADRONA ARMS is a cozy neighborhood sports bar with decent pub grub. I like the ambiance of the fireplace and how spacious enough the interior is to be able to hold large groups. They have some tv's with different sporting events on to appeal to different types of fans. I like the look of the bar and I thought the service was friendly and efficient. I was in a group of 7 people and our order came out together and we thought our food tasted good. Madrona is a cute neighborhood. I would totally recommend exploring this neighborhood and I would hang out and eat here again.

My favorite spot to grab drink after work. I love coming here on Thursdays to order their weekly dinner special (usually a hearty serving of pasta!) and watch the game. Service is always amazing and very attentive. Plus they have a fireplace that is normally roaring during the fall and winter. Truly a gem in Seattle.

We were in the Madrona area and looking for a casual place to eat dinner...Madrona Arms worked really well. Here is what we noticed: - It was pretty quiet the night we were there (even though it was a Saturday night) so we got a booth. The vibe is fun, definitely sports-bar like, but very relaxed and inviting. - For a change, we weren't drinking but the cocktail menu and list of draft beers looked good. - My wife and I each had a cup of the Whiskey Crab Bisque soup, and then we split the Irish Dip. The soup was ok...a little strange as the crab was pretty much chopped up, but the flavor was good. The Dip, on the other hand, was spectacular! I've never been a French Dip kind of person, but this time having the sandwich with corned beef (instead of roast beef) was the bomb...it was so good that I wish we hadn't split the meal. And, the fries were done extra crispy as we requested! - Service was pretty good...it's a little strange that everyone helps everyone, so we didn't know exactly who our server was. They all pounced on us at the start but when we told multiple people that we needed more time to look at the menu, then it took them a while to notice. Bottom line: This is a nice place, the kind of neighborhood folksy place we wish we had around the corner from where we live.

I ordered medium rare and received well done after 30 + minutes of trying to get my order taken.

If you like good food, hospitality, and efficiency, DO NOT come here. Took 30 + minutes to place an order just for it to arrive wrong. The place doesn't know the difference between medium rare and well done. Not even the dogs would eat the burger I got. Questionable at best. Also gave me 2 pickle slivers for a $19 burger. After 20 + minutes of trying to wave down a waitress to take our order, my senior father headed over to the bar to try to see if we could place our order. He forgot to ask for a substitution on my burger so we had to spend another 10 + minutes trying to wave someone down to fix it. I would also like to point out the waitress, saw us trying to get her attention several times, but ignored us or went to tables where people were just being seated to take an order. When our food eventually did arrive, we were over the service and just wanted boxes so we could leave. Didn't even care the order was wrong, at that point, I was better off cutting my losses and going home. Overall just very hostile.

Shockingly slow service even on a relatively slow night. Food is ok, but is it worth the wait? No, not really

We ordered the Irish chowder, and corned beef and cabbage with mash potatoes, and a glass of Guinness beer. The chowder tasted like any chowder I had before but this came with soda bread, and the bread was really good. The corned beef dish was also delicious. Lots of flavor to it and certainly not salty. The cabbage (carrots and string beans) paired well with the mash and the beef. Service was quick and non- bothersome. Our waiter came to check in when they needed to and not when we were about to stuff food in our mouth which happens far too often than I would like to share. As for the establishment itself, it is quite dark, which all align with what pubs would be. Interesting to say though that the walls were adorned with art and the right pillar where we sat had a frame of what looked to be a collection of irish stamps. It was pretty neat to look at.

Bartender recommended - no, suggested - a red ale similar to Smithwick's. It is not Smithwick's. I don't really remember the food, and I suspect that's a good thing. I asked the waiter if the corned beef and cabbage was good. He said, "We are an Irish bar." When gently pressed, he added, "A lot of people order it." The staff doesn't seem to think there's much to recommend at Kell's these days and I'm inclined to agree. 3 stars for some good memories, they still put on live music, and the fact that while nothing was great, nothing was terrible either.

Love the dark cherry wood throughout and the amazing service. FYI, they also have a few arcade games in the back. We ordered: Pot Pie - This was a bit strange because the Pie is topped with a flaky puff pastry instead of it being a pie we're accustomed to where the pie filling sits within the breaded/puff pastry. The inside was alright, but the pastry part was delicious! Shepherd's Pie - this was super light and didn't have much flavor, it more like a snack than a meal. Unlike a traditional shepherd's Pie, it wasn't topped with mashed potatoes, and there was hardly any meat inside. Maybe they forgot to top mine with potatoes? Even the menu describes this dish as having a mashed potato topping. :( Bangers & Mash - This was the best dish that we ordered. Savory and filling enough, as compared to the others. The burger sausages were delicious! Snakebites - Special St. Patty's drink special - Guinness and Cider a bunch of Guinness drafts They had a live band singing traditional Irish songs plus a few contemporary songs all night, and the pub hosted the Keith Highlanders Pipe Band, who also played throughout the evening and night. Ngl, the first time the Bagpipe band walked through the pub, everyone was hyped, and some got emotional. Such a fun night! I highly recommend catching their live bands. I'm curious how often they host bands, but it's worth visiting.
