Perfect chip to guac ratio. I've never experienced such bliss! There is a heaven, and it is inside a bowl of guac at summit public house.

Tacos were good. Service sucked. Asked for Salsa, was told by Gabe, they don't have salsa but they did have Pico which Gabe wanted to charge for. Then after, Enrique (awesome cook) filled some containers of salsa. Asked Gabe what he called it....he said it was Salsa. Stopped for drinks so can't speak to food, but the tap selection was pretty good overall. They were unfortunately out of quite a few but I enjoyed my Pilsner. My partner felt meh about his cocktail. It was a pretty typical bar with standard service and typical neighborhood bar ambiance. They had pool tables and a Pac-Man table and were showing sports on the tv. Surprisingly good house wine, absolutely delicious nachos (thin chips with nicely crisped ends) and an amazing friendly bartender Jay!

By no means are these the best tacos or even authentic tasting, but for $2 per (I think it's a Tuesday deal but not sure), they're good enough! It's conveniently in my neighborhood so I would definitely come back on a nice sunny day to grab a drink with some friends out on their outdoor seating. So there we were: me, my girlfriend and a fridge completely empty of drinks. It was snowing, the world was closing or closed and our options seemed bleak. Sobriety through a Seattle winter shutdown is like slapping karma in the face. Luckily Summit was still open because it's always open. Rain, shine, COVID or whatever else: the place has drinks, the fattest burritos you've ever seen, and (in wintertime) fires out in the street for patrons. So we huddled around the fires and got fed 4$ pours of some microbrew that the staff were trying to get rid of. The nights gets hazy, but I'll always remember the snow. This review is going off the rails, let's get it back on track. Things Summit does great includes their outside seating, Sounder games, billiards, and the mellow wood vibe of a bar a solid step above a dive but also still part of the people. Summit pub is a true "public house" - a casual, neighborhood place to grab some beers, watch a game, catch up with friends. It's not a pub in the decorated like an English-pub sense. It's just an actual pub. Really great beer selection, some mixed drink specials, pretty decent food with random surprise events like paella (which they always manage to do while I'm out of town, and tease me with on Facebook). Great place to watch football matches (soccer that is) -- really great crowd, but it is a crowd. Come early, and be prepared to stand. Regardless of how busy it is, I've always had to order at the bar. I don't think there are servers. read more

Total fan of this place for watching anything MLS (Sounders) or NFL related. They always seem to be broadcasting games or worldwide sporting events. Very much a local neighborhood watering hole type feel where it's no frills but a "homey" ambiance. You order your beers up at the counter and they have a small food menu that consists of chips with pico de gallo, burrito option, tacos (veggie and meat options), and tostadas. They will generally have some type of daily special as well that isn't on the menu but I can't say this place is known for just the food. My favorites are the chicken tostada and chips and pico - it has decent kick. Juanitos tortilla chips. The beer list though - always an amazing rotating tap list so for a great beer and chill time with friends, this place is tough to beat! They even have a nice little outdoor patio out front and on the side of the bar. read more

Was told this place had good burritos and such so finally decided to check it out. Wow, what a massive disappointment. I ordered a burrito and a tostada, with extra sour cream and hot sauce on the side. No extra sour cream, and no hot sauce. The tostada, and I am not kidding, was a tortilla chip with a teaspoon of beans and a handful of lettuce thrown on top of it. The burrito was very small though not terrible and the staff were super unfriendly. It cost a whopping $20 (I tipped a couple dollars in good faith though it was take out). I will not eat here again. It's a shame since I'm in the area often, but I came in hoping for at least a decent experience but was not treated well and frankly made to feel dumb for my order in the first place. It's a great neighborhood bar with a long list of beers, both local and from afar. The atmosphere is casual with regulars chatting around the bar or tables. They have TVs in multiple locations so you can see the game and talk with friends. On sunny days you can enjoy their two patios and the front one is even very dog friendly. They offer a basic Mexican menu with tacos, burritos, tostadas, and don't miss the fresh pico de gallo. During political seasons they also host debate nights and set out benches for people to come and watch. All around, this is a perfect neighborhood bar! read more

LOVE this place. The perfect little neighborhood escape from reality. Not the biggest, baddest bar on the block, but it's my favorite for a number of reasons. Drink prices are great, and if you catch the 4-6 happy hour they're even better. Good selection of brews and equally as good on the hard stuff. The Mexican flavored menu was a great surprise, and the Pico De Gallo has always been super fresh and delicious. I still have yet to try their burritos, but I hear they're great! Potential to lose a star for acoustics - we were here early on a Friday afternoon and it was loud, even though the place wasn't full. Could have been bros talking too loud though. And good beer is good beer! Food smelled good too, will grab a bite next time. Update: subtracted a star for holding a block party without any notice to the neighbors (we live right around the block). That's not being a good neighbor. FYI - you can no longer bring dogs inside Summit! Apparently the health department cracked down (Thanks Seattle Nanny City!) and now you can only go on the front patio. This sucks !! Is Norm's next!? Suggestion to Summit - add a door to the side patio to expand your dog friendly space and add service to the front patio if people with dogs can't come in to order. This is a great little spot for a few reasons. One, it's a bit of a dive without being dirty or full of jerks/old people. Two, it's next to Sun Liquor so if you can't get a seat there, this place always has tons more room. (And the drinks are cheaper!) Usually when I've been here I've liked the crowd of people hanging around. Everyone is nice, it's not too loud, but loud enough that you feel like you're in the company of other people trying to have a good time. If you're a fan of spots like the Redwood or the Twilight Exit, this place should also be on your list. read more

A cousin of mine recently moved into the neighborhood a few blocks from the bar and it is quite obvious to me now how he could possibly spend all afternoon at a bar. While labeled as more of a dive bar, the establishment resounded an atmosphere reminiscent of the old Cheers sitcom with a bit of that Seattle character sprinkled in. From the evident hipsters and hardcore cyclists to the grungy underground Seattleite, the bar was basically an open forum for everyone in the neighborhood. The bar is basically a reflection of what every neighborhood bar should aspire to be; a quaint meeting spot with respectable staff that draws a group of equally interesting and respectable patrons. With a few picnic tables outside with benches, the neighborhood provided a great backdrop for quiet conversation over a glasses of Dick's Pale Ale and even offered a few moments of interesting interruptions of joggers and impromptu conversation with neighborhood residents. read more

After the bartender played "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", I knew my love for them was well founded. This place is tucked away in the middle of a pocket of Capitol Hill, and that means the crowd is mostly people who live nearby. One day I arrived and I asked the bartender to turn one of the TV's to a USMNT soccer match and he told me that SPH was "a Mariner's bar" and that I had to wait until the (inconsequential) beisbol game ended to see a match with consequence. This is the perfect neighborhood bar. Not only is the staff really friendly, but the patrons are, too. I've had quite a few fun nights of conversation with random people I've met here. The beer selection rotates, and there's a list of drink specials for the day/week/whatever, not really a "happy hour" to speak of. There's covered outdoor seating for the smokers, although even inside it's not usually too crowded that you have to stand. Free pool all day every day, which is nice, but only one pool table. This small time bar is within walking distance of Broadway, but it seems miles away from the main thoroughfare with regard to its atmosphere. There aren't huge crowds here but it's a great place to go and watch international soccer matches as they have all of them on a DVR and seem like they just pick a new one at random one ends, and the booths are in the middle of the room, with smaller more personal tables lining the windows. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the bartender has no pretenses. Also, free pool. Can't go wrong with free pool. This is a true gem of a pub. read more

I used to live one block away from this place and this is still my favorite neighborhood bar in the Capitol Hill area. Buried in a residential area, this little dive bar gem is amazing! It's small, fun, comfortable, and has a great neighborhood feel to it. Now that I live further away from it, I still make a trip from time to time to grab a drink here with my husband. :) There are many beers on tap, good bartenders, great to chat with, prices are good, and they make some super tasty food! Try the burritos! They have booths and high tops you can sit at, a pool table, and several tv's if you want to watch any sporting events. It gets pretty packed on weekends, but if you come early or on a chiller evening, it's great! The pool table is even free! In the summer time, they often do BBQ's outside, so stop on by for some food, drinks, and fun! read more
