Overall good for a food stall. My kids liked their musubi and loco moco (this needed more seasoning for me). The teriyaki for me was a bit sweet with a lot of sauce that overpowered the rice. No veggies came with the teriyaki chicken so I had to buy from another place in the food court to round it out. I would try other places in the food court before coming back. read more

CID Food Walk stop number two: Aloha Plates, the classic Hawaiian standby in the Uwajimaya food court. 2x Spam Musubi + Mac Salad Food Walk Special ($8) - The spam musubi are held in a heater so they are served warmed up by default. I didn't expect much out of these, but they were surprisingly good. The rice is cooked perfectly, sticky and tender, yet each grain is distinctive and almost bouncy, giving great mouthfeel. The musubi seems to be dipped in a small amount of soy sauce, although not enough to cover the entire rice surface. The additional sodium isn't really needed in the first place due to the salty and meaty kick the spam on top gives the handheld snack. It's a classic combination for a good reason! (4/5) For the Food Walk special, they only give a small scoop of mac salad. I'm sure the normal side portion for $5.94 is much larger. The salad is unspectacular but solid. It's a little sweet, a bit peppery, and certainly very creamy. There's a bit of julienned carrot included that isn't particularly crunchy, being soaked in the mayo sauce. The macaroni itself isn't mushy or overcooked, so it still has some texture. (4/5) I don't usually expect much out of food court restaurants, but Aloha Plates definitely surprised me with their quality. It seems like a solid option for Hawaiian. read more

This Hawaiian eatery is located in a food hall in Chinatown Seattle area. They had excellent customer service. The food was hot and fresh. Our party ordered burgers, Shin ramen, musubi and the Bok Bok meal. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The Shin Ramen was spicier than we expected. My musubi had hard rice, however another one was fluffy and delicious. Prices were comparable to others in the food hall. We sat nearby on the many available tables. read more

This is a great place to get good, reasonably priced, Hawaiian food in the Uwajimaya food court. We are quite fond of the Kalua Pork, Mac salad, and Loco Moco. The katsu and teriyaki are also good, as well as the burger and fries. In fact. Everything we have had here is good, and we would get it again. It's fast food. I got the teriyaki chicken, which is kind of a general go to when in Seattle. It had absolutely no spice to it, of which I'm not accustomed. I like spicier chicken teriyaki. I hardly ever go to any of the delis and eateries in the Uwajimaya food court, so I didn't expect to eat here. The food court itself has a decent amount of seating that fills up every weekend, though I came here with a friend on a Friday afternoon to get something quick to eat here. They have a good selection of combo plates and Musubi, and everything on the menu looked tempting. Since I only ordered up at the counter, no comment on service here. I got the kalua pork and chicken katsu combo here, and it came packaged in a box along with a side of Mac salad. This was all right at best; the pork was slightly more watered down than what I would have preferred, so there wasn't too much taste. The chicken katsu, however, was full of meat and somewhat bland but was very filling. The combo itself also came at a very good price for its quantity and even quality in this case. read more

I didn't expect to find this spot inside a grocery store shopping center. The service was really fast and attentive, and they were really friendly. You could smell the food as they were cooking it and it got me hyped. I got the chicken katsu loco moco (kinda new to me, I've only ever had the og), and it was good. The katsu chicken was the best part. The egg was a little overcooked so it wasn't runny, and the onions were undercooked so they hadn't really caramelized. Located in Uwajamiya. Disappointing meal for $45. The short ribs need to be marinated more, barely any flavor. Ono plate - the Chicken teriyaki & short rib, the chicken was over cooked. the plates in general looked sad and I was disappointed when I opened it. No vegetables or anything which I feel like when people say plate, it usually comes with a little more. straight up meat and rice. and the mac salad is the tiniest cup but I Guess I expected too much for $1.50 of mac salad. Used to be my goto teriyaki. More recently I tried to order what used to be my go to order. Teriyaki with brown rice and Mac salad. First, they don't offer brown rice anymore. Or it's not available online. Disappointing but I continued. Next, I ordered with white rice and added 2 cups Mac salad for delivery. Then l, when it arrived here is what I noticed. 1. The white rice was wet and overcooked/soggy? It was starting to look more like pudding. Gross. 2. No Mac salad. They completely left it out of my order. Meaning I paid $4 for nothing. 3. The chicken is just okay. Overall really disappointing because this was my old favorite. I will also note that I used to get teriyaki because the katsu is usually too thin. So now I don't even trust them for what I would consider my "safe" order. Sad. read more

Aloha Plates can be found in the food court of Uwajimaya Seattle. There were a lot of people in this food court trying out Aloha Plates so I wanted to check out their food. I was craving Hawaiian so I thought this would be a good fit! The person taking my order was nice and efficient. She also was kind to answer my questions about the portion sizes so I appreciated that. Once I paid she got my order number and immediately went back into the zone of taking other peoples orders. I really commemorate her for her diligent work! Once I got my food (the chicken katsu + Kalua pork combo - around $17), I was excited and hungry so I couldn't wait to dig in. I started with the macaroni salad and I loved it!! I tried the kalua pork as well and for some reason I thought it would be different. It felt a bit mushy but the flavoring was okay. I wasn't sure how to feel about it but it was just okay. I also tried the chicken katsu and it was so thin. I mean it wasn't bad but I just felt like it was too thin and I wanted a bit more meat on it. I think overall I think it was average and perhaps I would need to try one of their other dishes such as the short ribs or burgers. read more

Even though I wanted to try their classic Ube pancakes, I did not have the willpower to wake up early enough on a weekend to make it happen but I still had an amazing time. We got seated very quickly and all the staff were amazing. They were so attentive and kind. They really make you feel taken care of and at home. The interior design was also very homey with a lot of knicknacks and memorabilia adorning the place. For food, we ordered the pork adobo and lechon porridge specials. Both were out of this world. The pork was cooked perfectly and was so tender and fell apart in your mouth. The sauce was vinegary and sour just as I like it and the garlic rice paired perfectly with it. The lechon was also cooked to perfection with a nice crisp and soft chewy inside. The porridge was so warm and comforting on a cold seattle morning. One of my favorite meals of the trip and I will definitely be coming back for the ube pancakes.

The small is a good compliment to salad. Instead of four pieces, we had five. Hubby was happy to have more protein to go with the rice. They are more of a 4.5 stars rating. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! Went for an oddly timed meal on a Saturday around 4PM and they still had all their poke options. There are about 6-8 tables in the store, but quite a few folks take their meals to go. It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.
