One of my favorite go-to place next to my office. Usually gets crowded in the afternoon so try to be early. Despite they try their best make the order fast. I usually order my Salmon bowl or Salmon bento. You can customize it Boiled or Seared for bit extra. They are delicious and right size meal for lunch time. Very standard place based on the salmon bento I tried. The salmon was fresh and they seem to try to provide a variety in the bento but the poke barely had any flavor so it didn't differ much from the sashimi. The other reviews seem to speak more favorably about the bowls so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Donburi house is a great place to grab a quick lunch. Lines were long on a weekday but service was still very quick. The fish was very fresh and the poke sauces are great. Great lunch spot if you work close to 4th and Madison! It's a very small restaurant with only a couple seats for people waiting for their food - no indoor seating. We ordered the salon lover bento (seared) and the gyudon to share and were happily surprised how large the portions were especially the gyudon. Everything was really good and even thought they didn't have seating, we just took our food into the building next door which had plenty of lobby seating with tables. We'll be back! read more

Took me awhile to find their exact location as part of the office building complex, but going outside past Wells Fargo and down a set of escalators did the trick. Ordered a sushi bowl and was satisfied with the amount of fish for what I paid. Everything was fresh and tasty. I ordered it as takeout, and it took less than 5 minutes for them to get everything packed and ready to go for me. It's most appreciated to have another option of places to get lunch in this dissolute part of downtown. I tried this place after hearing about it from a coworker and it was fairly decent. I enjoyed the baked salmon bento that I got and it surprisingly filled me up well. It didn't look like it would at first, but I was very content with the meal. The baked salmon was very saucy and a bit spicy which I did not expect. It was good though. They have a variety of dishes here like poke bowls, bentos, salads, and even ramen! The service was pretty fast, but I went around the later end of the lunch hour and they're still new so I expect the crowds to show up fairly soon once they hear news of this spot. So this is mainly a take out spot since there isn't a real place to sit inside. There are tables outside surrounding the building they are at, so you don't have to go back to the office to eat necessarily. It's a easy quick pick up if you order online. I'll probably do that in the future when the crowds show. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu for sure. read more

I came here with high expectations based on the reviews. I thought the fish cuts were decently thick, but the sauce is a bit one noted. I ordered it with both unagi sauce and spicy mayo to try, but it seems like I only got unagi sauce. I wish the salad came separate from the hot rice and with dressing. The miso soup however was a bit too salty. The tofu pieces had an interesting texture, almost cream-like. It's not bad but it's the first time I've had tofu like that. At the time of my visit, some items that I saw pictures of online were not available (e.g., spam musubi). When I asked, the lady who worked there said some items were unavailable. That said, I then saw a notice explaining the situation and that the restaurant would offer a miso soup as courtesy. The lady did not offer it to me, and only gave it after I asked. This made me feel a bit a bit cheated... Then, there's another notice that a 10% discount is given if you post a review of the restaurant . I did not claim the discount because I want to give a review after I've (paid for) and tried the food. I thought this was an odd choice, given that many restaurants give you a discount for a Yelp checkin not an actual review. read more

Placed an online order for their Meat Lovers bento. It was good, nothing exceptional. For $20+ a bit pricey for a bento box honestly.

Overall, I thought this was alright, but nothing special. I got the gyudon bowl (because they were temporarily out of all bentos). For a place with "Donburi" in its name, the food doesn't really resemble traditional Japanese donburi, but maybe that's not what their aim is. I'll concede that point. Back to my gyudon: the beef was more stringy and shredded, rather than cut, so the texture felt off. As others have reported, wilted, soggy lettuce is buried halfway down and off to the side, for some reason. Flavor was average--it didn't blow me away. Portion size was decent. For the cost (upwards of $15), I didn't think this was worth it though. Maybe in a pinch. At least service was fast. read more

A great place to stop by and pick up lunch during a tight work break! As someone who works in downtown Seattle, I'm always on the hunt for a new lunch spot and was happy to hear there was a new offering for donburi in the central business district. There's a great selection of different kinds of bentos/donburis to suit different palettes with cooked and raw options. I take the karai bento as a go to option which has generous amounts of sashimi paired with some poke, pickles and seaweed salad. Definitely not a traditional bento or don by any means but it doesn't detract from the fact that it is tasty and reasonably priced. Service is quick so don't be discouraged by the long lines! It definitely gets packed during the lunch rush. Seating is limited to nonexistent so be prepared to takeaway to eat somewhere else! read more

Very quick and amazing service! I love the convenience of takeout only, and it's great having Donburi-styled options for a meal, especially during lunch break. There's street parking right where they're located, so if you're able to find a free spot, it's another convenience I appreciate so that I don't have to walk so far by myself. I really liked the simple and modern concept they have; it's very bright and open with a straightforward system. The staff there are all super friendly and helpful! So far, we've tried the Seared Salmon Don, Meat Lover Bento, Gyu Don, SK Kick Poke, and Creamy Pop Poke. They sold out of some items and substituted certain sides/dishes for us. Everything was tasty and packed with flavor without being too heavy! Loved having miso soup and various options of onigiri (kimchi, baked salmon, gyudon, etc) on the side too. I have tried the Seared Salmon Don, Kickin Gyudon, and Creamy Pop Poke and they have all been excellent. For the price I think it is just right for the quantity and quality.
