Unfortunate university Avenue location storefront. Just can't have anything nice lately...Albeit, service and food today was great!

Ambience. C Service. A Food. A Price. A Found in the middle of the university avenue with limited street and parking lots! Great for students and locals walking in area. Like that they stay open late. Picked up my order Monday night before midnite. Ordered in Uber Eats and got BOGO for the Korean chicken nuggets! $7!!! Tender morsels (I think thigh meat) with light crispy batter and lots of crisp you want to eat up. The schezuan light dusting seasoning is mild and not spicy to my palette. I'll need to figure out what they have spicy in the future. They do have mayo , ketchup and bbq sauce on request. And loves this chains recipe for their batter and tender hot nuggets! I would come back again in future. My new favorite chicken Korean nuggets!!! I'm a FaN!!!!

Got the 4.99 regular chicken sandwiches. it's good, nothing crazy. Great amount of chicken. Dirty inside, fun board games. Convenient, inexpensive chicken spot.

Lovely, flavorful, crispy and juicy fried chicken. They had a soft opening even though they'd been open for a while so I assume that's soft launching new management, and boy I think it worked, because I went at a reeeeeaaalllly busy time, and my two orders still came out FAST within 10 minutes. The entire restaurant was full and there was a line for the self-order pad, but the staff in the back were working really hard to fulfill orders. Got a spicy chicken sandwich -- the chicken is a giant puck, but breaded nicely, still juicy inside, cooked perfectly and had globs of mayo with a single lettuce leaf. The taste is reminiscent of a Mcchicken but possibly on the sweeter side with an earthy taste of airy crunchiness that's really satisfying to eat. Got a box of popcorn chicken to snack on and they are big too! Also juicy, in the original flavor, very crunchy and delicious. Price-wise, it's very affordable. 4.99 for a bigggg chicken sandwich is super worth it! There are lots of tables and chairs inside for easy dining, and make sure you grab a bunch of napkins before you dig in because you will need them. Trusss meee!

Can't really rate this place as this notice kept me from entering. Parking isn't convenient as it is in the University district.

Out of boba :(

3.5/5 rounded up. Call A Chicken is basically comparable to a fast food spot. It reminded me of Dandan Hamburger from Taiwan. Soft opening so I am cutting them some slack. Food is average (3/5) but prices are fair and ambiance is solid. I'll hopefully revisit in the future once everything is more solidified for a better, accurate rating. For now, I thought the food was whatever but it's a solid study spot with reasons I'll detail below. Starting with the pros, the chicken was pretty juicy and tender, not dry. It's not exceptional or anything but it's just solid chicken. They also introduce bottomless house beverages on the Ave which is a great concept. Cups are a bit on the smaller side for their bottomless drinks. They have bottomless fountain drinks which is standard and not surprising, so nothing to note there. However, having bottomless house beverages is very interesting. You can refill milk tea, taro milk tea, or a seasonal beverage. Because of this, it's a pretty great spot for studying or doing work because you can get refill "higher quality" drinks that isn't simply soda. Maybe not particularly better, but it's a change of scenery in the sense that you don't often get refills on non-soft drinks, especially around the Ave. They ran out of milk tea so I can't comment on that, though I really wish I had the chance to try their boba and milk tea. Taro Milk Tea - it's served warm and honestly pretty good. Nutty flavor is present and it's not overly sweet (it is a bit sweet, but not 100% level at a boba spot). Great drink for Seasonal Beverage - tasted like a sweetened green tea with some spices though I'm not certain what it was exactly. Basically some type of tea though, so another calming drink to sip on while doing some work. Wrapping all that information up, the ambiance is nice where it's decently sized and spacious with outlets and Kleenex tissue boxes at each table. This means there's a solid amount of space to work with for anything whether that's conversation, studying, or work. -- Now, the cons. They ran out of items early in the evening which actually seemed worth trying. It makes sense that these items sold out as they looked better or worth trying. Particularly the milk tea, boba (topping), chicken fried steak, and rice. Their toppings (boba and jelly) are a dollar each which is pretty hefty. Unless these toppings are also bottomless, I don't see why I would pay double the price especially with these cups being on the smaller side and thus, they likely skimp a bit on the toppings not to overflow the cup. They have a Double Chicken Sandwich without a combo option so you'll have to pay full price for individual items if you did want a bigger meal (larger sandwich). They have combos for every other item. Awesome Chicken Wrap is crazy small so at the price point, it's not worth it. In a combo, it's slightly better, but it looks very much like a dollar menu item from another fast food joint. Skip this. Chicken Sandwich is extremely simple. Bun, mayo, lettuce, chicken, mayo, bun. It leaves something to be desired but it's not overloaded with a clash of flavors, so I'm unsure how to feel. It's fairly filling as is, but it really is just another chicken sandwich that's beat by the more popular chicken sandwich spots. However, we don't have those luxuries on the Ave, so there's that. Drumstick is juicy but the breading could use some work. So the inside chicken is solid but the breading and crunch factor isn't as great. Fries are decent, but can be a bit undercooked. They aren't as crisp as I'd like, I mean they're no McDonalds. They're also lightly salted so some fries might feel unsalted because there's not a lot. tl;dr okay food, okay prices, solid interior for a spot to hang out for an extended period of time refilling house beverages.

Got hot sauce in the side and it was really tasty! - Mochi Cake: 10/5 so freaking good! Service was fantastic and the inside is really cute. Small but welcoming. TL:DR: Is it cheap? No. But it's a gluten free fried chicken that is actually good, the sides are bomb, and the price for the value is there.

Got the half spicy half normal and dusting of spice was perfect. The fact that this is gluten free (which is fantastic for all GF folks in our family) is even more Amazing how they got everything right with the crunch and flavor. Potato skins and garlic rice were good too, though less garlic would have been better. Could easily make this into a garlic egg fried rice and larger portions. The staff were super attentive and took time to explain everything to first time visitors. Steady stream of take out orders as seating is limited. Would come back to try the other sides too. Happy to report no reaction for gluten free member of our family, top marks for safety.

I've had sandwiches, bowls, tenders, thighs and drums. They're all good. The sandwiches are the high point in my opinion - particular shoutout to the Slawsome and Hot Honey. They're big and messy but tasty. Can't go wrong with them, and I frequently can't help but order one. The bowls are powerful. I've had both kinds on different trips and they're hard to do in a single sitting, whereas sandwich + side is not. Just be warned. The sides are straightforward - what you see is what you get. They tend to be a little more basic, or classic if you will, than the sandwiches. I like this, since they serve as a side/counterpoint. We tend to get the slaw and pot of gold. The fries are the battered style which are very good and combo well with the rest of the menu. Takeout times tend to be accurate and the staff have been working hard but helpful every time we stop in. Most importantly they've been consistently good every time we go - and often during peak busy times, so that speaks well of their kitchen staff. Top marks all around. The move to the new spot didn't slow them down a bit, so make sure you check the address before going if you haven't been in a few months.

We had visited the Ballard location before they had moved to their new home. Stopped by the new location a few weeks ago. The new location is definitely in the sketchy part of Ballard, but it was nice to have a designated parking lot, rather than trying to find a street spot at the old location! My husband and I both ordered 3 tendies, in cayenne heat (level 2 spicy). Didn't seem spicy enough for my liking, so next time I am going to try the level 3! The chicken is delicious! It's crispy, juicy and flavorful. They offer a lot of sauces to choose from too. Although if you ask me, if you order any spicy level, the chicken doesn't need it! My husband is a dipper though and he likes his sauce. His fave is the Honey Mustard. (I opted for a garlic aioli. I love garlic but it was a little much). Since I was feeling like a comfort side, I selected the potatoes and gravy. (I have also had the fries and the macaroni and cheese). They have a good selection of sides. We love Cookie's chicken!

We've tried multiple flavors for the chicken, and all of them have been great! Hot Honey, Snow Onion, and Soy Garlic were great. You can skip the seasoning on the fries since the amount varies everytime. Drinks are canned. The restaurant itself is clean, but like many other restaurants on the ave, you get different service based on who you are. If you're not East Asian, other customers tend to stare at you. Service has also felt cold based on the server, and we noticed other parties, both larger and smaller, who arrived both before and significantly after us, receiving more attention and quicker service than us, even if they ordered more food. Overall the food is great so I'll push past that, but would be wonderful if all tables were treated equally.
