Vegan junk food. Kind of gross sauce, reminded me of the vegan fast food at veggie grill. Seek healthier vegan food elsewhere, please.

No. But it's a gluten free fried chicken that is actually good, the sides are bomb, and the price for the value is there.

Got the half spicy half normal and dusting of spice was perfect. The fact that this is gluten free (which is fantastic for all GF folks in our family) is even more Amazing how they got everything right with the crunch and flavor. Potato skins and garlic rice were good too, though less garlic would have been better. Could easily make this into a garlic egg fried rice and larger portions. The staff were super attentive and took time to explain everything to first time visitors. Steady stream of take out orders as seating is limited. Would come back to try the other sides too. Happy to report no reaction for gluten free member of our family, top marks for safety.

Our order was waiting for us and the front staffer was nice and friendly. The restaurant is spacious with a homey, kitschy vibe and the front wall of windows were wide open. On a hot summer day, this would be a nice, airy place to eat in. We might eat there next time. 10 minutes later we were home and looking forward to digging into our chicken! We split a Large Bag o' Bites which were crispy, savory, and delicious breaded chicken breast pieces. We also got the three piece combo: two drumsticks and a thigh. We got everything non-spicy and found it all to be delicious, moist, and crispy. I am especially grateful that Cookie's makes their fried chicken WITHOUT DAIRY since I have a hard time digesting milk protein. Thank you, Cookie's for a filling and delicious dinner of fried chicken. We will be back!

Cookie's was a let down, I'll start out with that. I had all the hope in the world that this place…read morewas going to wow me, but alas, it was not to be. I'll start with some positives: you can order directly on their website (as opposed to being forced to use some fee-heavy service like DoorDash), they're quick, and the Barn Burner sandwich was good. Now for the cons. Either they messed my order up or I was the fool here and screwed up when ordering online, but the four piece tendies I got were plain and utterly spice-less. Being a pepper head and spice fiend, this was a bummer, but it forced me to see that the chicken wasn't seasoned very well. Outright bland one might say. The chicken also had a kind of toughness to it. Not from being really dry or anything, but more from the raw cuts of meat not being trimmed correctly, like I was eating bits of tendon or something. Hey when I order tendies I thought that was cutesy-short for tenders not tendons! They weren't bad, but they were not very good either. The Barn Burner sandwich was decent though, and at a level three of spice, it had a nice heat. I'll give them another chance down the road, but ultimately, in a city that has so many great fried chicken options (Triangle Spirits, S/T Hooligans, and Sisters and Brothers), it's going to be hard to make the decision to choose them again after the meal I had.

We ordered a Mixed 16 pc, half original, half garlic spicy (which is their yangyeom). Both were insanely crispy with perfect texture, and very tender (even the strips)! Definitely far up the Ave but worth the walk, as burning those calories will justify the fried chicken! Public service announcement that the "drums" are more than bargained for. This option is for humongous drumsticks but the wings are your typical mix of drums and flats. Pictured is a comparison of the "drum" compared to the drumstick within "wings." Two drums will probably fill up the average person. Friendly service, one sweet staff who's welcoming and handling everything up front. Interior is pretty standard but it's definitely spacious between tables. Washroom awkwardly locks if the door is closed so that led to an annoying experience. A few individuals asked to use the restroom (as non customers) and ended up closing the door, so we thought someone was in there for quite some time. The realization probably hit around 15-20 minutes where other guests wanted to use the restroom and it was unlocked manually. We tried the garlic soy, hot honey, snow onion, and padak soy. I'd rank them in that order (first two interchangeable). I generally love snow onion variations at other chicken spots, but the sauce here mainly sits on top, so the chicken underneath is basically original fried chicken. As for the padak soy, it's definitely an acquired taste. The combo of soy-mustard with green onion creates a pretty distinct and strong flavor and the mustard-like after taste was overpowering. Overall the chicken was tender and juicy, but the batter was a bit thick. Texture was great, but would love to skip on some bites of pure fried batter (especially with the mustard after taste).

The no pickles or lard were adhered to at least. Got a mild heat level and it was a little spicy. What we got did not look like my original photos. Smaller portion, but still filling. Pricey. We also got fries and the lil chickie sliders (no lard, no pickles) at a medium heat level and I guess my partner thought the sliders would be a little bigger than they were - similar to regular sandwich portion - they were small...maybe tiny tender size. I couldn't see em before she ate em. Overall no complaints. The fries size was good. A little seasoned. $36.32 for sliders, sandwich and fries + tax. Standard are for a meal for two, but it felt expensive being al la carte. We ordered online and they were timely in getting the food out for pick up. It's in a shared space with Rachel's Ginger Beer, so the pick up area is a little hidden, but it's out of the way from ordering from the main space. Parking is shared with U Village and can sometimes be tricky as it's usually very busy.

Kind of reminded me of pickles but I think a lot of people who don't like pickles might prefer this! Service was so nice, asked if I had been before and it was my first time so I received a 10% discount. That being said it is on the pricier side, a regular chicken sandwich is ~$16 and the sliders were ~$11. Aside from the sauce in the sandwich, other sauces are 99 cents each, not sure about the amount you receive. There weren't any combos, as far as I'm aware, so a side of fries is also extra. The restaurant is combined w a drinks spot, it's pretty cozy inside and the decorations were very nice.

I though that the food was excellent for the price, and they're strategically located in the same space as Yan Tea, so it's so easy to pick up a drink while ordering food. The popcorn chicken is a Taiwanese-style popcorn chicken made with fried chicken thigh and topped with salt and white pepper. If they use five-spice powder, I couldn't really tell since I was popping the chicken into my mouth as fast as I could without burning myself. It's super juicy and flavorful. I didn't get any hard bits of connective tissue despite it being made from deboned chicken thigh. I would get this again! I also got to try some wings. Their wings were super moist. When the order came out, the wings were piping hot. Biting into them would release a gush of hot juices, nearly causing a burn. I actually did burn myself, so I couldn't tell the seasoning as much, but they were delicious. Service was fast, and there were a bunch of people getting takeaways.

When I asked again, he just kept pointing to "what's in the system" instead of offering any context. Being sold out is one thing--being dismissive is another. While I was there, another customer with his family and three kids had a similar experience. He left disappointed after being charged for food that was never served and was unable to get a refund. Meanwhile, people were waiting around 60 minutes for food, and the place wasn't even that busy. The operation felt disorganized. Since the Mango Sando wasn't available, I ordered the Chicken Sando. After a long wait, the first bite was flavorful and promising, but I questioned whether the chicken was fully cooked through. At $10, it was also underwhelming in size--you'd still need to order two more items to feel satisfied. Ironically, Yan Tea next door (same owner) delivered a far better experience. The customer service was warm, the mango sticky rice was excellent, and the drinks were great. Even for Japanese-style chicken sandwiches, I'd choose Katsu Burger over this. What confuses me is that there were boxes upon boxes of mangos visible, yet no Mango Sandos available. If you're going viral on TikTok for a signature item, you should either be prepared for the demand or communicate availability clearly. I made a special trip for this place and left wishing I had gone to Katsu Burger from the start.
