I just finished demolishing a crab roll (lobster rolls are still my favorite) and it's so good. A heads up that this place is not on the list of cheap eats in Seattle. A half crab roll and garlic fries is close to $30. I've visted their first location in Edmonds and I fell in love with the food. Over the years, a couple lobster roll shops have popped up and Market is the best. I'm also glad the Seattle option is open because Edmonds is outside eating only. Because this was my favorite meal of my trip. --- --- --- The restaurant I wanted to go to for dinner only had reservations available that were later than we were willing to wait, so we looked for alternatives. The ordering process was also quick and simple as you order directly with the cashier and are given a number that you can place on the table for them to serve you. We decided to order the Hot Connecticut Lobster roll and Chowder Fries. I really liked how they were able to accommodate us by splitting the roll and fries in half. The lobster roll was really good. Cute little "deli" right next to the Art Museum. They had a ton of seating but we chose to sit in the art museum itself. We ordered the PNW crab roll, the maine lobster roll and the one more roll. Order at the counter and if you're dining in, your food will be delivered to your table. The front of the restaurant, near all the windows, are mainly smaller tables. There's more outside and even larger tables in the back by the bathroom. Seafood Chowder: Pretty average. You can get it in either a cup or a bread bowl but since we were already getting a lobster roll, we got a cup for less carbs. It was the first thing to come out (as expected) and easily shared by two people. Crab in a Bag: I was expecting like a crawfish boil kind of thing but thinking more about it, it's probably referencing crab meat in a soft shell is like being in a bag? This was soo good though! Squeeze the lemon all over and take a big bite, shell and all. The breading is well seasoned and there's more than enough pieces to share with a couple of people. Brussels Sprouts: This wasn't specifically on their menu. It was on a chalk board with specials and it sounded really good. From what I could remember, it's tossed in a thick salty, but sweet, fish sauce. And it was really good in the beginning but after eating it for awhile, every bite is just too salty. And because the sauce is thick, you can't really shake it off. If it weren't so salty, this would've been a perfect brussels sprouts dish. Hot Connecticut Lobster Roll w/ Garlic Fries: The star of the show, the main reason we came here. A hot roll just seems more satisfying than a cold one. But I can't help but feel it's not very worth it. It's good but expensive. The brioche roll doesn't hold the lobster pieces well too. For an extra $2, we upgraded the fries to garlic fries and that was the right move. All of this split between two people...our bill was pretty high for a casual lunch. The MARKET at the Seattle Art Museum is owned and operated by the same restaurant in Edmonds. It has both an eatery area and an expanded bar; no fishmonger here though. (The Edmonds one does.) They have quality seafood, even if spendy these days. Inflation. There is a giant screen for the menu. You can order via the screen or talk to the person at the counter. We did it the old school way. We were the only new customer then, so the food arrived quickly. Service is swift and on-point. This location is very classy and quite a contrast to the original Edmonds location (which is small and hard to find a place to sit). The interior here is photo worthy. The bar area is easily date worthy; a corner table is date worthy, too. They rent out the wall space for artists to sell their art. It's actually a logical approach since they do share the building with Seattle Art Museum. The Food: "MAR-KET Seafood Pinch Buns Trio" - 3 Stars The trio are Maine style lobster (served cold, mayo), Connecticut style lobster (served warm), and Dungeness Crab, which is the inferior amongst the three. We didn't know pinch buns are Chinese white baos. (Insert eye roll.) We're gonna stick with the normal lobster rolls in the future. Fish & Chips, $21 - 4 Stars The fish is a beer battered rockfish filet. It's fried to a crispy perfection. I definitely recommend this. Spendy though. Crab in a Bag, $21 - 4.5 Stars When we first ate this in the Edmonds location, this dish is served in a bag, hence the name. It was soooo good. At this location, we get a heaping portion of "Crab in a Bag" without the bag - fried soft-shell crab, chilies, and LOTS of garlic. (Vampires be warned!) This is easily their must order dish. Without the bag, the grease isn't being absorbed by the bag; serving it in a bowl tastes greasier. They should use the oil absorption sheets like how tempura is served. read more

The crunchy bread itself was a good compliment to the soft lobster, giving the roll more texture profile. I will say, I was a bit disappointed with the fries, as they were quite bland.
