Great waterside patio seating for sure, but food prices were crazy high for what we got. Came for a sunny Saturday lunch by the water, and that did not disappoint. However for 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon, the menu was still pretty limited with a few of their things like the seafood corn chowder still being prepped. We ended up ordering the fish and chips along with fried corn. For the $18 for the fish and chips, I was expecting a pretty huge plate but instead got three emaciated scraps of fish (and it wasn't even a higher end fish like halibut or anything like that!) Then there's the fried corn, which although was quite tasty, left me wondering how they could possibly find ears of corn that small..perhaps they shriveled in the fryer?! -1 star for the prices. Even though my meal was awesome, it was just a little too steep I think for lunch, even given the location. But that being said... I'd totally recommend it! We'd just finished up kayaking at Moss Bay next door. Despite bringing snacks, we were too hungry to do much planning on where to eat lunch. Lucky for us, The 100 Pound Clam was looming right nearby. Their outside patio is incredible and it's spaced out nicely. I feel like restaurants really like to crowd their outside spots in the summer, but this wasn't the case. Even at full capacity, it wasn't too loud or boisterous out there. We ordered at the outside station. I got the fishwich BLT and my date got the fish and chips. Had they had some better small options besides the overpriced salad, we probably would have gotten a small item and shared one of those. The portions were more than we could finish and we took some leftovers home. The BLT was incredible. The tomatoes were ultra-ripe heirlooms that melted in my mouth. Great ratio of thick cut bacon and a huge piece of salmon that was succulent and juicy and fresh. Like, I think this may have been one of my favorite sandwiches. The bread was big and soft and slightly sweet, and again was a good ratio to the sandwich filling. The fish and chips weren't as impressive. The breading was nice, but overall it was lacking flavor. The dill fries are great though. We both got a glass of rose at $9. It was served a little too warm. Meh. I'll probably try to plan better and not go back to blow a bunch on lunch if I can avoid it, but I gotta say, it was super tasty and their venue is perfect. Sometimes one has to break free from Ray's, Duke's, and Ivar's to experience seafood and sunshine. The kiddo and I decided to checkout 100 Pound Clam over in the land of South Lake Union. Arrived at the tail end of the annual Obliteride cycling event, but managed to find parking. 0-1 or 1-2 hour pay lot parking?...actually ordered, ate, and read the Sunday paper without much challenge since tables turned over relatively fast. Could have got away with 1 hour paid parking, oh well still cheaper than getting a ticket or towed! Ordering is straightforward. Snag a table, wait for your name to be called, trays brought to your bench. Yes, it's pricey but you are paying for quality seafood, not frozen fish sticks! Just remember to bus your table and sort as appropriate at the side table. Positive karma will come your way. Beverages had included iced water, Mexican Coke, and an iced tea (the latter two were $3 each). Refreshing on a hot day. Some of the seating is shaded, but not all, so bring the hat and shades if needed. Kiddo had the Steamed Clams ($16) with potato bread slices to sop up the broth. They kindly also provide a big soup spoon. I opted for the Rockfish and Chips (plain or dill, $15). Both selections were perfectly executed on flavor and presentation. That broth was 'epic and tasty' and rockfish was both crunchy and moist. Enough fries to share and thankfully, not soggy. Yum! This permanent food-truck style stand sits outside the new pub, The White Swan. Order up at the stand and they bring it out to the seat of your choosing outside on the patio, where there are tables, and a high top overlooking Lake Union. Food options are great if you are a seafood lover! The Rockfish and chips were not your average fish and chips!! The rockfish was so tasty and fresh, you could see it easily flaking bite after bite. The burrata and heirloom tomato dish was also refreshingly delicious. The spicy sweet tomato sauce that accompanied the dish nicely complemented the fresh, peel away, burrata ball. I didn't think it would be very filling but it was perfect for a happy hour sunset by the lake. The selections of beer were pretty decent as well. They have cans and draft so lots to think about! read more

Found Seattle's latest hot spot through Yelp and immediately grabbed a few co workers to try out on a nice hot Friday afternoon. The place was completely packed but people cleared out quickly as it's on an order and sit kind of system. We found it to be a little confusing as we weren't sure if we were to buss our own tables, but most of the people left their dirty plates on the table. As for the food, the menu is limited with under ten items as if right now. We ordered the fried corn (amazing), fried avocado and shrimp, clams, and heirloom tomatoes with watermelon. All pretty decent, however the clams were extremely salty. On the flip side, the fried corn hands down the best corn ever. With location right on lake union, this is undoubtedly a great patio restaurant. I'm not sure how this place will survive in the wintertime though as I don't see an inside. read more

Visited this place for the first time a few days ago for happy hour shortly before our paddle boarding experience and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the fish and chips and WOW those fries are incredible! The fish was incredibly fresh and had the most amazing breading. I will even go on a limb and say that it's the best fish and chips I've ever had. The ambience was nice, of course. It's right by the water! The only thing is that it IS pricey. Don't expect something cheap even during happy hour. Also, be aware that for happy hour, they have a specific menu. They don't make other things during this time. It was a great start to our day though, and if I go back to Seattle, I'll definitely be hitting this place again (if I can afford it!) read more

Sun-lovers, rejoice: there's a place on Lake Union where you can soak in the rays, watch the rich people's boats bob around and the seaplanes buzz in and out, laugh at privileged middle-aged men as they complain about first-world problems and try to not look at pretty girls because their trophy wives are with them, and enjoy great drinks and nibbles in the precious, itinerant Seattle sunshine. Seriously, though, this joint is cool. Come early to grab a table. The cocktail and beer selection is solid and the menu is comfort-food with a seafood twist. Service is counter order, table delivery. The staff is solid and friendly, but they get a lot of crazy demands from the privileged high-maintenance customers for weird dietary restrictions, special beverages they "must" have, and requests for reassurance that "their man" can dock the yacht at this or that slip (they just want everyone to know they have a yacht) so be gentle on the staff: they work hard, and show no favoritism. I know this is the time of COVID and how it has turned the restaurant world upside down. However I expected just some efforts from the staff in trying make the customers comfortable. Let's get down to it. First off, the seating availability is well, the most horrendous. We came as a party of three, and we're given a table outside under the tarp. This wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't been in the evening, cold and very windy. The heaters outside were useless. We looked around and saw plenty of other seating with space available. When we asked our waitress she basically threw up her hands and said no. Okay no biggie, but when we asked if we could pull the tarp just halfway down to block the wind from blasting our hot food to cold, we got snapped at and told it would 'restrict the airflow'. Trust me, there was wind blasting everywhere, no way was there anything getting trapped. Finally after begging we got a table more inside but still freezing. While the seafood stew was delicious but the oysters and my drink were not. I either ended up with a bad batch but I got terribly sick later that evening without a doubt from the oysters. I also had asked for a hot toddy but instead of warmed bourbon I was given the equivalent of what appeared to look and taste like theraflu lemon. The meal wasn't bad, other than getting food poisoning from the oysters, it was the pure crap service that soured what should've been a leisurely dinner. My name rhymes with Ken, Ben and everything else ending with -en that my order was missed in being given to me after being completed. I ended up in hangry hulk mode for an hour. At least they comped our meals and gave us the ceviche sandwich because it took us over an hour to get our order after my friend pointed it out. Service gets a 4. Food is more like a 2.5. here's why. Roast corn on the cob with cheese-get this! It is the best thing we ate. Steamed clams. Meh. Definitely cooked in butter and tomatoes possibly to give it a orange color. The bread slice was the size of my petite palm and soft and thin. I personally like big pieces of toasted bread to dip into the clam sauce like how Ivar's does it. Fried cornmeal shrimp and avocado. Having something squishy covered in cornmeal and fried just seems odd to me and it didn't do anything to enhance the flavor except add a bit of savoriness. Shrimp was OK, but I prefer my shrimp tempura battered or beer battered. Fried fish and chips. Just two pieces of cornmeal fried fish. The fries weren't crisp but they weren't soggy to the point of being flimsy or tied into a knot. Shrimp ceviche sandwich. Dont order. WOW.... i'm so glad I finally was able to come to this place. This place is so delicious and the space is beautiful and they even have a nice flower arrangement at all the tables. Can we also talk about the view? right next to the lake? AMAZING!!! Was a little slow at work today so decided to take a bit of a longer lunch with my dog. I was also meeting a friend here who was running late but it was fine because its just nice to sit outside (they have a section that's in the shade which is perfect, still outdoors but not grilling you in your skin) and just people watching and enjoying a perfect day. Location can be a bit tricky but its right next to I Love Sushi. Go towards the back towards the dock. I asked the person at the front to pick between the rock fish and chips or the salmon BLT and he says he loves the fish and chips. Done! also got it with the dill fries. GET THE DILL FRIES!!! it is perfectly crispy and I love dill which just makes it 100000x better. I will say, it is pretty pricey but it is delicious so I don't mind as much paying for it. I did get a bite of my friend's BLT which was also very good. the salmon was moist (hate that word but it fits so well here) and the bacon was thick cut bacon. It comes with a bag of chips but I had so many fries left that he finished those off first. They have a great selection of beer, wine, some cocktails (like Moscow mules) so will need to come here for HH or even in the evening would be nice with the sun setting. Love the patio location, but food was overpriced and completely average. I would have expected a bit cheaper than restaurant prices for a walk-up counter. Also, their moscow mules were pretty ineffectual at giving me any sort of buzz. Given they're new, there's still an opportunity to learn and improve. My friend had the peel-and-eat shrimp. She doesn't eat shrimp heads, so a small portion of shrimp turned out to be about half that size, once she removed the parts she didn't want to eat. I had the Poutine O' the Sea, which consisted of clams, bacon, onions, scallions, fries. Soggy and cold fries are definitely not as yummy as the traditional warm gravy, gooey-cheese covered version. read more

I really enjoyed this new restaurant, and I don't mind paying for good food, but I think this place is slightly over priced. If they reduced the price by $2.00 or increased the portions or would be worth it. I would come back but only order off the happy hour menu. The view is breathtaking and I can see my condo from the patio. It's nice to watch the paddle boarders go by up close. The food was good. I ordered the Prawns and avocado, the Dill Fries and the Heirloom tomatoes and watermelon salad. Very good, and again if the portion was larger it would be worth the order of $16.00 for each item but literally we got 6 prawns. I would recommend it to a friend but warn them about the portion size, and the fact you have to bus your own table, and I think they will understand that the food doesn't reflect the price correctly. read more

Bad experience. I got the steamed clams. They were too salty to finish. If I'd wanted to sop up to he extra broth I wouldn't have been able to because they gave me four tiny slices of bread. Full of butter and no wet nap or way to wash it off my fingers. Not worth the $16 paid. Furthermore, there was a trash heap built up at the table. It's a bus your own place, apparently the diners before me didn't get the memo and the servers were too busy to care. It was packed and no other tables were open. Seems like it'd be a good place to get a drink or grab a bite if you're already tipsy. The location is pretty but the outdoor seating wasn't that great. Too hot and no shade at most tables. I am so glad I found this place on my walk to work one day! South Lake Union is in desperate need of more solid restaurants, so I'm very excited about 100-Pound Clam. First off, this is an outdoor "patio" restaurant right on Lake Union. Beautiful view of the lake with an upper-class feel since there are tons of yachts around. I love the ambiance and the casual window ordering. The food is very tasty! Rockfish & Chips ($15+2 for subbing dill fries) were perfectly cooked. The fish was breaded beautifully with a crispy crust and wasn't greasy at all. The fries were generous and the dill was a unique touch. The steamed clams ($16) were also very good, with a rich broth and Mama Lil's Peppers. The dish could've been hotter, since halfway through it was basically cold. I also prefer my broth to have more garlic/acid than butter, but overall still pretty great. I really enjoyed the food here, but it was pretty pricey overall, which is why I give 4 stars instead of 5. I will definitely be back, but due to the price the Clam likely won't be a staple of mine, even though I loved the flavors and vibes. It'll be really interesting to see how White Swan Public House (basically the big brother of 100-Pound) comes together! read more

I really love fish and chips and had such high expectations for this seafood-focused Dan Bugge establishment. It pains me to say that I was pretty disappointed by the food. I went with some friends for happy hour and we shared the poutine, clam strips, trout dip, and fish and chips. The menu pricing on happy hour is reasonable, but I could not justify paying regular pricing for these dishes. The clam strips were very thin and just tasted like fried breading. The fries under the poutine fell soggy to the gravy and didn't hold up. The gravy was salty and the bacon didn't add to the dish in any way. The clams atop the poutine were small but tasty. The trout dip was the star of our meal. The potato chips were perfectly fried and lightly salted, not to overpower the smokiness of the dip. I had been craving fish and chips so I was really excited to try it at 100 pound clam. The classic seafood dish. How could you go wrong? Well, the breading was atypical. It was made of breadcrumbs instead of being battered. The fish and breading had no flavor and the texture was dry somehow, even after being deep fried in oil? I reached for lemon to but the dryness and add some acidity but it didn't come with any. The dill on the fries was nice, but the sauce that came with the dish wasn't a traditional tartar. It resembled an aioli which was too thick for dipping and the fish broke every time I tried to get any. I regret not getting the fried corn on the menu that also caught my eye. This outdoor patio is definitely a destination for summer days in Seattle, but I won't be ordering any of the fried seafood on my next visit. I really wanted to like this place, but I'm having trouble giving it more than a 3-star rating. First off, it's this huge outdoor eating space with cool picnic tables right on Lake Union. They've got a good selection of drinks (beer, wine, liquor). The food came out quickly, and since you just pick it up at the counter & bus your own table, service isn't an issue. What's troubling me is that the food is fairly "expensive" ($15 for pretty much everything) and it wasn't all that flavorful. The ceviche sandwich w/shrimp was almost bland, and my salmon BLT was sort of greasy and tasteless. The clams were a soupy mess, and not even served with any bread to sop it up (just crackers). I'm not saying anything was outright bad, it's just this isn't a "sandwich shop" where you're paying $7 for something - you're paying full entree prices, so I'd expect some more spices, layered flavoring, something unique about the dishes, etc. I'm willing to give it another go, and it looks like they're actually expanding into the interior/restaurant space next door - so hopefully the menu will expand and the food improves. read more

The location and setting is wonderful. Outdoor patio seating + summer night + views of Lake Union. We had the fried shrimp and avocado, rock cod and chips, and the fried corn. Favorite of the night was the fried shrimp. Perfectly seasoned and the batter was thin and crispy. The shrimp were fresh, crunchy, and succulent. The accompanying fried avocado was bland and the batter only added texture, not flavor. I was not a fan of the lemon mayo for dipping. It tasted like it should been on a dessert instead. The fried rock cod was so fresh, but the batter should have been more like the one on the shrimp. It was more hard than it was crispy. The dill fries were delicious. The fried corn was packed with flavor. I really liked the jalapeño cream. Yum. However, this dish was definitely overpriced. One ear of corn for $11. I'm good with Un Bien's corn if I ever have a craving. I might come back just for the view outdoor seating on a summer evening. read more

This is a cool outdoor spot especially when the sun comes out. Located right next to the docks, a perfect place to get some seafood and drinks. We got the poutine which was amazing because instead of gravy the fries are covered with clam chowder and clams with the shell. The fish and chips were ok. I'm not a big fan of rock fish and enjoy the more traditional cod. The tarter sauce was on point though. For drinks I got the clam mile which was basically a Moscow mule. It started raining but there are a couple tables that are covered. The ambiance of the place felt like you were by the sea and definitely coming back to maybe try the restaurant inside. read more

They weren't open when we'd arrived. 11:30 is their lunch opening but it gave us ample time to decide on our order. Rock shrimp ceviche sandwich or Rock fish and chips? The idea of fresh shrimp in some citrus or vinegar marinade seemed like a good choice. My coworker ordered the fish and chips. When we agreed to split our orders, we just marveled at the brilliance. We'd be able to try 2 things today! $15 ceviche sandwich: lime, cilantro, guacamole, red radish, potato bread $15 fish & chips: with malt vinegar mayo The sandwich arrived, open faced, garnished with a sprinkling of julienne radish, bits of celery and a bag of potato chips. Guacamole spread on the bread. Shrimp was fresh, but bland. I wish the shrimp could have been marinated a little longer. In fact, it didn't taste marinated at all. Hardly any cilantro. Bread very fresh but it seemed to emphasize the blandness. That was very disappointing. The portion was generous though. Fish and chips: fish was overdone. I understand rockfish is a firmer fish but this was bland and the mayo did little to enhance. Fries were ok and salted. In hindsight, I should have grabbed some malt vinegar and doused both to bring out the flavors, but I didn't feel like I should have to work to make my food taste good. Service is good but then it wasn't busy yet. I'd return for the outdoor seating and view. My hope is that in time, they'll improve especially when the fall rolls around and the food would need to hold its own. read more

Great concept; poor execution. Looking out at Lake Union on a summer day is fantastic. The idea of a high-end fish and chips bar is also wonderful. But, a Moscow mule has four main ingredients -- vodka, ginger beer, lime juice and lime slice (maybe a splash of soda). If there was ginger beer in the mule, there was no trace of its flavor. I basically got a vodka, soda and lime. $15 for a fish and chips PLUS $2 extra for an upgrade of regular fries to make them "dill fries" (which was literally just chopped dill and malt vinegar -- the latter being a free condiment on the tables), totaling $17 should be a damned good fried fish and french fry... And, you'd think you might get a fair amount of fish and, or chips with your order of fish and chips. Instead, it came with two pieces of rock fish (the larger of the two pieces could be described as medium/large; the second piece was about the width of two thumbs and maybe four inches long) and a normal sized order of fries with dill and malt vinegar. I was pretty underwhelmed when it arrived -- at least pile a bunch of fries in there to make it seem like you're getting your $17 worth... No? The cornmeal coating is a nice touch and gives the fish a great crunch, but that's the only compliment I can give. It's frickin' fish and chips, guys, not seared foie gras on a truffle butter brioche. No reason to charge people $17 for that. They have Typical beer prices and a good selection. We were a lil disappointed they were not serving oysters, as after looking at the web prior to arrival that is the first item mentioned, well at least The Salmon BLT was really tasty. The rock fish and chips are done pretty well here, not greasy, but I just felt they are a lil over priced for the portion. Meh- I was really wanting to like it but the shrimp ceviche sandwich was ho hum. Had the fried corn and it was average. My kids had the fish and chips was was just okay as well. Spectacular view overlooking Lake Union. The Salmon BLT was delicious and so was the corn chowder. The ceviche sandwich with avocado was a little soggy as expected. The steamed clams was overcooked and rubbery. It came with 4 little tiny slices of bread for dunking the broth. The rockfish fish & chips (with dill fries) came with 2 small pieces of fried fish. The entire menu was overpriced! read more

Great new spot on the water! Can wait for the indoor option to open as well... Packed patio though at busy times, there are spaces/benches nearby to take food, if the weather is nice. Moscow mule was really bad though... Don't know if they were doing their own "version" or they don't have a liquor license for spirits outside, but something tasted off. Beer and wine are the way to go, especially because they are more reasonably priced. We had steamed clams, salmon BLT with dill fries, and the tomato/watermelon salad. I loved the salmon BLT and the dill fries were not overly "dill-y", so they were the perfect match. The salad was interesting and had a little kick to it, would try again but it's enough for a meal. For 2 of us this was probably a little too much food. We'll definitely go back when it's a little cooler out to try the fish & chips and chowder! read more

Too expensive for what you get. I've been there twice now and have both times been underwhelmed. Today I ordered the $14 fish and chips. I can get Nosh food truck's fish and chips for considerably less (recently voted Seattle's best fish and chips) so why should I pay an extra $4? The view I guess, but the view was taken up with a boatload (puns are fun!) of entitled white folks that likely work at Amazon. The customer service was pretty "meh" as well. Review alert: we got here via paddle board! On top of the awesome dock we could pull out boards onto the service and food was great. We opted for the Moscow mules however they offer a large selection of beer and modest selection of wines. They also had a pitcher of mimosas which might have made the paddle board home even more entertaining! The fish and chips were large and the dill fries fantastic. All of this was consumed on a large deck looking out on Lake Union. Add it to the top of your list for great places by the water but don't tell too many people, we don't want to run out of paddle board parking :) read more

I'm glad that some others have said similar to what I'm going to say, because I don't want to be the crazy guy who doesn't get it. Overall, this is a really cool place. It's an awesome little walk up shack with a great view and excellent seating area. However, when I first heard about the place, I guess I was hoping for something more traditional that would become a weekly staple over the summer. Unfortunately, 100-Pound Clam goes the way of the gastropub, elevated-everything Seattle Buffalo, which used to seem like such a treat, but now seems to be the standard. It was something like $16 for a watermelon salad, which was delicious, but is also just a watermelon salad. I thought for sure the fish and chips would blow me away, and while it seems the ingredients are all top-notch and a lot of care goes into the food, they didn't. They were breaded perfectly, but the portion was small and the seasoning was just too mild. The fish was very tender and delicious, but just missing something. I think we ordered the rockfish n chips, the watermelon salad, and maybe a side of fries, no drinks, and the bill was near $45. So rather than being some weekly lunch joint, 100-pound clam for me, is one of those cool places you take summer visitors to for a meal. So, despite some of the criticism here, I would still recommend checking out the place, and I definitely would return - just under specific circumstances. read more

Tried out this place on a Thursday evening after work. While there was a long line, it was worth the wait. My group ordered some dill fries, fish and chips, and seafood corn chowder. Everyone was impressed with how great the quality of the food was and the perfect sunset atmosphere by the lake on a summer night. The chowder was different from the usual thick creamy chowder. Their was more liquidity but I think it is one of the best chowder I have had in Seattle. For $9, you get a generous bowl with different kinds of fish. It wasn't too salty either. Definitely will come back again! read more

ordered the shrimp po boy- super pricey, almost 20 bucks after tax and tip. Good sized shrimp, but the meat to bread ratio was waaaay off. I was just eating mouthfuls of bread on some bites. Beautiful view and we got to sit outside with my pupper. read more
