Very friendly staff. The espresso here is really good and will scratch that caffeine itch. The interior feels cozy and there are seats outside if you enjoy your coffee with fresh air. Seats do fill up fast, so it can be a challenge to find a place to sit if you are with a group of people. Highly recommend coming by if you're visiting or if you're a local!
Around the same time Howard Schultz bought a small Seattle coffee company called Starbucks, Espresso Vivace opened it's first cart in downtown Seattle. Fast forward almost 40 year, both companies are still around but Espresso Vivace still retains a lot of the charm, quality, and atmosphere which makes it very relevant in Seattle. The space is very inviting with a large aairy room and smaller room in back. There is also limited sidewalk seating as well. I almost always get a shot of espresso here, and it never disappoints. It's a great place to bring out of town guests or just hang out on a lazy day.; A true third place.
This was a nice coffee shop. It was very spacious inside with many seating options to choose from. Ordering was very seamless. I got a Latte with oat milk. At first I wanted to take it to go but the ambiance was nice inside, so I just stayed in. I should've just said "for here". Anyhow, I secured a nice window seat and enjoyed my drink and the view. My latte was good. For me, I like medium roast and it tasted more towards a medium-dark roast. It wasn't bad, my latte was delicious. It was just a little different than I was used to. The drink came together very well, the oat milk was creamy and the espresso was very rich. All in all, I think this is a cool place to work and catch up with friends. I might read or journal here, but depending on the day and the lighting it can get a little dim for that. I'd come back again.

Vivace espresso "Ooh La La". Every time my tastebuds desire that taste of a robust caffeine fix , I stop at VIVACE on Broadway! Definallty the emerald city's smoothest java shot around. What's amazing is theres no acidic taste ruining your beverage , just a smooth euphoric rush of caffeine coursing through your body. I normally get an iced latte to get my geyser gushing but a straight shot does happen occaisionly. Outside of the superior taste the caffeine kick back is like a NASA ROCKET BOOSTER piloting Artemis II... Now the hired hands are fined tuned & trained baristas extracting the brown juices from local roasted beans. BTW VIVACE roasts its own coffee, specializing in a Northern Italian style developed by founder David Schomer since 1992... This is why you'll love its taste... VIVACE's interior space is very large for small & medium size gatherings with a hipster eclectic taste of furnishings. Also beware free WiFi if you're a lounge lizard is available... During good weather days outside seating is available for the rare days the gods allow Seattle sun to shine down upon us. Table & chairs on sidewalk allows you front row seating to the freak show for entertainment. Not much more to say, so grab a shot of caffeine!

Best coffee in Washington. I have been coming to Vivace since e they had their coffee roaster by Cal Anderson. After a long day, Vivace hits the spot. Chill music sets a nice vibe and the service is friendly and welcoming into their establishment. Posters on the wall showcase local flavor and they have a rack with publications so you can peruse through and may find somewhere else to venture to while up on cap hill. Take home a bag of their coffee beans, but good luck getting it to taste the same as these artisans behind the counter make day in and day out.
I tried this based off of a recommendation from a peer. This is a no frills, quality coffee shop. You order with a barista, they make it on the spot, you pay, then go on about your day. I got an iced latte with simple syrup and it was fantastic. Their espresso was so so good. I bought a bag of beans on my way out to enjoy at home. The inside is quite spacious and seems like a great spot to either do work or catch up with some people.
Thanks a latte Espresso Vivace Roasteria... now I can't stop thinking about you Street parking. Dimmed spot with lots of seating available. We tried the White Velvet and infamous Nico. Both were amazing and smooth. I wish they owned an oven or microwave to heat up the pastries. Squash bread was yummy and not too sweet. You clean up after yourself once you're done.
Espresso Vivace is a Seattle classic! I've never had bad coffee here. Their signature Cafe Nico is a must-try and my go-to espresso beverage of choice here.

Oh my goodness. Interior was spacious airy. A no frills spot. This was drop dead amazing. I have never had my tastebuds tickled in such fashion. Amazing and the barista was stellar. She knew what she was doing making latte art with tiny details. Such a professional. I will only be back here for my coffees and showing for out of towners. There's something deeply special about their coffee roasts. Euphoria in a cup.
I had a fantastic morning at Espresso Vivace Roasteria. I ordered their mocha with oat milk and lived out my coffeeshop fantasy for the morning while I read and my friend journaled. The coffee was really tasty and the space was cozy. The baristas were friendly and seemed really passionate about coffee. I loved all the local happening posters around where you order. They offered a closed off quiet section for those looking for absolute quiet. They also had normal seating indoors and outside. I'd come back for another comfy coffee morning. read more
Great coffee. The barista that served us today has worked there for four years and was super friendly. I orders the cafe nico (?), which had some cinnamon and orange zest. It was quite nice. Recommend checking it out! read more

So I have heard about this shop and decided to try it out. Lucked out with a street spots (use pay to park app for 50 cents for 30 minutes). Probably drove the Barnstable crazy with my questions. Ordered lavender cold brew and added milk. Delicious loved the super smooth coffee. Also bought a pound of beans. Super cool vibes inside. Light music that still let you have a conversation which I appreciate. read more
This coffee shop was recommended as the coffee shop I had to visit. The Nico was the recommended drink so early Sunday morning I made my way up. I walked in and while I waited I checked out the pastries. I was greeted and I ordered one of the pastries and my drink hot. Service was good and as efficient as they could be as they were busy. My drink came out and it was delicious. A perfect sip as I walked back in the snow. A spacious area for people to enjoy their coffee and get some work done. read more
I think it's safe to say I'm a regular at Vivace! I usually visit the Capitol Hill location since it's close to my work, but honestly, both locations are fantastic. My go-to drink is the White Velvet- a rich, velvety white chocolate mocha. I prefer it hot, as the iced version can be a little too sweet for my taste. The staff at Vivace are always warm and welcoming, and their barista skills are top-tier! The latte art is consistently beautiful. Between the quality of the coffee and the cozy, inviting atmosphere. Both locations have a quiet room, as it can get pretty busy and loud. Vivace easily ranks in my Top 3 favorite coffee spots. Bonus: I always leave smelling like fresh coffee! I know when a client of mine has had Vivace because the smell from the cafe sticks on you. I love the coffee aroma. read more

I ordered a hot vanilla latte 16 oz and was told the biggest they have hot was a 12 oz. Imagine paying $8 for a 12 oz and it was meh. Then you get shitty customer service which your barista who's also the cashier never smiled once. She made small talk with another barista's customer instead. To top it off, she hands you your latte and you say thank you but her response is "yess." What kind of response is that. read more

Best coffee shop out of all the cafe we tried during our short trip to Seattle- It lives up to its reputation. The hot americano was rich, smooth, and layered with a deep roasted flavor -- bold without harshness. A must-stop for anyone serious about espresso in Seattle. read more

Visited Vivace while in town and ordered a Caffe Nico and a Macchiato. Both drinks were excellent. The espresso was smooth with zero bitterness, and the orange-cinnamon combo in the Nico was balanced and surprisingly refreshing. The shop itself has a relaxed, homey vibe that makes you want to sit and people-watch for a bit. The only reason it's not five stars is the barista with the nose bridge rings and slumped shoulders, who looked like she'd rather be anywhere else. It was quiet, about an hour before closing, and I mentioned it was my first visit. I asked a few questions about the menu and got the kind of answers that make you feel like you've just interrupted a very important daydream. The drinks were made perfectly, but the friendliness didn't quite make it into the cup. Still, I'd come back for the coffee without hesitation. Maybe next time I'll catch the barista on a day she actually likes people. read more

Well... here's your reminder that Yelp ratings aren't everything. Because this place deserves five stars more than almost any coffee shop in Seattle. My theory is it doesn't have a higher rating because it isn't the trendy, Instagrammable café. Instead, it's full of people who actually give a damn about espresso. The espresso is unbelievably smooth with rich caramel notes, and somehow it's that good every single time. If that's what you're after, skip the trendy cafes and come here. Oh, and order the Nico. read more

Excellent espresso here. Macchiato (though the size felt a little more than macchiato) was great. Lots of seating and quick service as well. They even have an extra quiet area in case that is necessary. read more

Itching to satisfy the desire for caffeine? I was! After exploring Seattle and browsing Reddit, Espresso Vivace is a common line to read, so much so that I prioritized it over both the original Starbucks and the Starbucks Reserve. Did it disappoint? Nope! I went with the usual iced latte... Those espresso vita beans were some of the boldest yet sweetest that I've tasted. Not a hint of bitter and paired very well with the creamy milk, both in texture and in taste. As an added bonus, there are options for seating inside in a covered area, or a protected yet more open area with the raised garage door. The private area was quite and decent for working, while the outside area was more fit for conversations. And yes, of course they have Wi-Fi!! Returning? Every time I'm near, yes! read more
It's absolutely lovely when we have mild temps, partly sunny skies, and the garage window is up. Morning's are the best on Capitol Hill. People aren't up yet and you can just sit there and enjoy the sounds of birds chirping on Broadway or you can immerse yourself in a book. This is a good mood cafe cultivating community and art. I had a well seasoned barista craft my beverage, an expert in their field making quality coffee. Staff are welcoming and happy to assist with providing snacks and caffeine. As for accessibility, you can catch the 49 from UW or downtown. You can also walk north on Broadway from the Capitol Hill light rail station. read more

Great coffee shop stop in the Cap Hill neighborhood! I really appreciated being open in the afternoon and evening as many coffee shops close around then... not so much in Cap Hill though... but still it's appreciated. Steve and I had some time to kill before needing to be somewhere at 7 pm and this was the perfect place to go to do that. The Vanilla Latte I had was wonderful and it felt like there was very little wait time here for our coffee drinks to come but I suspect that was perhaps good timing on our part. Nice place to kick back and relax or maybe do some work on your laptop while enjoying the coffee drinks and/or snacks here! read more
